Alessandro is a vibrant, knowledgeable, and inspiring tour guide. Highly recommend this tour. Worked our way through crowded places with ease, and learned how to cross the street safely. Very important! And of course ate much delicious food. As an added bonus, everyone seems to know Alessandro and like him.

Itinerary

Meet your guide near the iconic Teatro Massimo opera house. Street food is cooked and served at street stalls, modest bakeries, and old bars. This street food tour has been designed to show Palermo with no filters of any kind.

Begin by making your way to the Vucciria Market and Mercato di Capo, two busy and colorful outdoor markets in Palermo. Listen as your guide offers insights into how Sicily’s unique culinary history informs its street food scene while vendors of local produce and seafood promote their goods.

Get in line at neighborhood bakeries, cafés, and street food stalls to try a variety of famous Sicilian street snacks. Munch on chickpea fritters called panelle and deep-fried balls of rice stuffed with meat, vegetables, and cheese called arancine.

Sip on a sweet Sicilian wine to wash down your fried treats, and then head for a seasonal dessert. You may indulge in Sicily’s famous cannoli (deep-fried pastry cylinders filled with sweetened ricotta cheese), some gelato, or a refreshing granita (a fruity slushy).

Alessandro was very knowledgeable and personable. His knowledge of Palermo and the local street food was great. We were not sure what’s to expect but he far surpassed our expectations. Next time in Palermo we would not hesitate to do this tour again.

🍕 10/10 Street Food Tour Experience! 🇮🇹✨

If you’re looking for a great way to get a lay of the land and eat well, this tour is worth every penny! We had a wonderful time on this street food tour. Our group was 11 folks from all over the world, and the vibes were just fantastic from start to finish. 🌍🤝 Our guide, Alessandro, was the absolute star of the show. He’s basically part tour guide, part stand-up comedian, and part private chef. 🎭👨‍🍳 He informed us right upfront that the menu would be heavy on carbs and fried foods, which was completely fine by me—bring on the comfort food! 🧆🥖 🥖 The Bites Everything was delicious, though I did take a little culinary gamble! I tried the spleen sandwich, which was super adventurous for me. While I’m glad I gave it a shot, I probably wouldn’t order it again... unless maybe they loaded it up with some cheese or hot sauce to make it a bit more bearable! 🌶️🧀 💡 The Verdict Not only was the food great, but it was also such a good way to get our bearings in the city. 🗺️💶 10/10, would definitely do it again! Bravo, Alessandro! 👏🍷

Amazing experience with Obi Vinz Kenobi. If you want a true street food experience with a authentic sicilian then this is the tour for you. Vinz goes into great detail about the history and origin of some of Sicily and Palermo’s best street food. I would recommend you do not eat before this your orher than maybe a light breakfast and a coffee. Vinz is friendly with all the vendors and you get to experience eating everything from Arancina to Mangia e bevi. If you stop in Palermo you must do this tour if you are a foodie or just love good local cuisine.

Our tour guide Alessandro was great! He was very knowledgeable, energetic, and brought the whole group together nicely. We did the 3-hour street food tour, but it honestly could have been condensed into about 2 hours. The food was decent, though it leaned very heavily on bread and carbohydrates. The tour included three alcoholic drinks, but the pours were quite small and felt underwhelming. Overall, we felt the tour was overpriced for what was included and didn’t offer good value for the cost. It was a good experience, but it didn’t quite meet our expectations.

On our cab ride from the airport to our hotel in Palermo, our driver highly recommended that we try Palermo’s delicious and authentic street food. So, we booked this tour. Our delightful guide, Simona, shared her love and appreciation for Palermo and its history, culture, and food specialities. The food and drink portions were generous and Simona made sure everyone’s needs were met. We had a great time! Our only concern was that the tour ended off the beaten path, which was part of the tour’s charm, but we were in an unfamiliar city with a language we did not speak and had to find our way back to our hotel in the dark.

Excellent street food tour. There was a lot of food! And Salvatore was really fun and provided a lot of historical info on the things we ate. The markets were really interesting and would recommend to get a bit outside the most touristy areas.

This was a great tour to see some of the less touristy foodie parts of the city, it is quite a lot of food so dont have a big breakfast or lunch beforehand! Our guide was great, she had great knowledge of the city and is clearly a Palermitan at heart! It was a little unfortunate for us as one of our group of 8 friends had an uncomfortable tummy before we started and some of the others in the group weren't keen on trying some of the Sicilian delicacies (spleen sandwiches!). It was also very hot, however, I enjoyed the tour and we saw bits of Palermo that we wouldn't otherwise see. Would definitely recommend, but be prepared to be a little adventurous! The were plenty of places to buy water along the tour and it does include some nice Sician beer too.

This should have not been marketed as a food tour. It was scheduled for 3 hours. After 1.5 hours, all the food they served was a small bite and a piece of bread/pizza with a glass of wine. I did not finish the tour and left at that point. I assume there was more food after, however, given the time spent I highly doubt it. The tour guide kept trying to make funny gimmicks to seemingly distract from the fact that this tour was a scam. The food in Palermo is relatively cheap so given there was barely any food given the cost of this tour is ridiculous. The tour guide provided a lot of stories and history so if you’re into that it’s a good tour from that standpoint.

This tour doesn't represent the full variety of Sicilian cuisine but rather a specific sector of it — authentic Palermitan street food. Since you left before even halfway through the 3-hour tour, we don't accept this rating and don't accept you calling us "scammers". Our tours are designed on purpose to provide a great introduction to Palermo, its history, and culture linked to the food guests try meanwhile. The full experience includes significantly more food tastings throughout the complete tour. We also want to clarify that the cost is not given just by the food, but also includes a licensed guide, group insurance, 30% taxes, and additional costs. The tour provides value through professional guidance, safety coverage, and regulatory compliance.
