What are people saying about Reykjavik

Once in a lifetime experience!
I have wanted to see puffins forever and when I saw we had a 16 hour layover in Iceland on the last day of the puffin tours, I booked it immediately. I was worried there would only be a few puffins but thankfully there were still so many on the cliffs and bobbing in the water. We brought our own binoculars and they gave us a pair - both were very useful as theirs were VERY zoomed in, but ours gave us a more clear picture of everything. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable and the crew was friendly.
We would highly recommend booking this if you want to see puffins and only have a short time in Iceland!

Excellent tour
This was an excellent tour for gaining an understanding of the history of Reykjavik. Luca was an exceptional guide. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining. We learned a lot of history and saw areas we never would have discovered on our own. Luca also shared restaurant and activity recommendations, and he a fabulous job of making the entire tour very enjoyable for everyone. I would highly recommend Luca’s tour of Reykjavik.

Glacier Lagoon was amazing
This is a loooong bus ride, with 10 of the 14 hours in a small coach bus. The Diamond Beach and Glacier lagoon were awesome and made the ride worthwhile. There’s an optional boat tour of the lagoon that was not offered thru Viator, but the driver was able to get tickets in advance while in the bus, I would definitely recommend.

Must do in Reykjavík
This is brilliant. Book before you go as it sells out. You get a timed sticker for Volcano, so tour the excellent exhibition on the various levels while you wait.
Volcano is amazing. You just need to experience it. Ice cave afterwards is real ice and very interesting. Then go to the planetarium for the Northern Lights which is also brilliant.

Great little horse back riding excursion
Did this horse riding experience on my last full day in Iceland after an amazing 13 day trip.
Friendly horses, all safety was reviewed & guides were terrific with checking & then re checking our saddles, reins etc before return ride back to farm.
Beginner friendly rides. Nice slow pace for those that need and a little quicker gait if out in front.
I will say I was impressed over safety checks & making sure everyone was in correct helmet sizes, horse size & temperament etc
Tour is only about 2hrs and that is a perfect little 1 1/2 hr ride with a transport van for the 15/20 mins drive time from Reykjavik.
I haven't been back on a horse in quick a few years and I was completely comfortable doing this tour.
I was orginially going to do this when I first arrived in Iceland but decided to do at end of my trip instead and glad I did as my butt bones were a bit sore the following day.
It is a nice little walk through the country side, seeing the lava rock up close.
The guide stops at that location and does free photos on everyone's camera for you.
After the tour you are offered tea & coffee for those that wish.
You can definitely tell these ladies are dedicated to their jobs and are very protective, passionate and proud of their beautiful horses.
Great day. Fun little tour. Terrific guide riders. Beautiful horses and Amazing scenery.
Thank you for this great experience!

Special experience
Our guide and driver (Pétur) was wonderful and efficient. He told us just enough facts and history without it being overwhelming, made it fun and easy to understand (even our 8-year-old said, "I like him! He's good!") for the whole family. We were a smaller group, which we also appreciated, and that helped keep us on schedule and even get a bit more time in certain places to enjoy the wonders of Iceland. Thank you so much for making it a special tour!

A tour by a proud Icelander
Our tour guide was amazing. He was so knowledgeable. You could tell that he is very proud of his county and heritage. Our group was small, a total of 3. I was traveling with my adult daughter. There was one solo traveler with us. She was the one that asked most of the questions and he had an answer for every question. It was our second time to Iceland. We decided to do a walking tour this time. There is more to Reykjavik than the Rainbow Road. I took note of his name in my phone but not sure if it did auto correct. I have his name as Binary. If that is wrong I am sorry. Tall, very long dark hair. I am not sure if it was his great grandfather, or another relative, that was confronted by the only polar bear in Iceland. That was a great story.

Best layover excursion
Great introduction to Reykjavik. We booked this during our 6 hr layover and it was perfect to see the highlights of town in a quick manner. The walk was mostldown hill and ended 20 min. Walk from the main bus terminalso we just walked back to it. Thor was very nice, informative and entertaining. Highly recommend.

Unforgettable day in Iceland !
We had a wonderful experience today on the Golden Circle tour in Iceland. Our tour guide, Darren, was so very interesting and did everything to make our day one of the best tours we have been on. We enjoyed every moment of his commentary, his knowledge and stories which entertained us throughout the day.It was a long, exciting day and every stop we made was better than the last. Cannot say enough positive words about our experience! Thank you, Darren!

A True Highlight of My Trip
The host was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had the best possible experience. The group was respectful, welcoming, and well-paced throughout the day.
At every stop, our guide took the time to thoughtfully explain the history, geology, and significance of each site while still keeping us on schedule. What really stood out was the attention to detail—he even showed me the best way to film the geysers in slow motion and shared photography tips that made a huge difference. It was those small, thoughtful moments that made the tour feel personal rather than rushed.
You could tell he truly cared about making sure everyone had a memorable experience, whether that meant answering questions, helping with photos, or making sure we had enough time to take everything in.
I absolutely recommend this tour. It was informative, well-organized, and one of the highlights of my trip.

Great tour
The seats were comfortable for the experience, only 2 rows of seats so no issues being able to see, the captain and the guide were friendly and knowledgeable. The guide took her own pictures for us so you could enjoy seeing the whales and not worry about snapping photos

A Memorable Trip
What a great trip to see some of Icelands best sights. Lots of interesting commentary from the driver throughout. Extinct volcanic craters, geyser, waterfalls, geothermal park and all on the tour. The highlight though was Hvammsvik geothermal pools, a 2 hour stop that will last in my memory for a long time. Don't forget to have a quick dip in the ocean as well!
