Worth the drive for the view!

This was a great day. Beautiful scenery. Our driver Riccardo was such a seasoned guide and so charming. It was just long enough to visit 1 winery if you are not a drinker. The drive is about 2 hours from Porto and just make sure you can handle the winding roads. One guest had a hard time.

A wonderful Porto experience

Carolina and her crew were charming and competent. They made the trip a delight. Length of the cruise was perfect for us. The wine and charcuterie board were lovely. If I were to offer any critique it would be to suggest more clear signage to find the location upon arrival, as initially finding where we needed to be felt a little chaotic. Regardless, we had a wonderful time.

What a wonderful...

What a wonderful experience, it felt like being on a private sailboat. Sara, our guide was wonderful and shared just the right amount of information to learn about the history of Porto and its bridges. Our captain, Julian had a great playlist and set the vibe for us to enjoy the sunset. The port wine was wonderful, Sara gave us a heavy pour. Everything as timed perfectly and the mats to sit/lay on were so comfortable.

Great small group experience with no crowds

A great experience! Stopped at some nice photos places along the way. Lunch was just our small group of 7 and was amazing and plentiful with lots of wine. The river boat cruise was also very nice.. again just the 7 of us with a nice drink and charcuterie. The winery was a small winery, but no crowds and it appeared we may have been the only group there. I searched a lot of tours similar to this, but this one was perfect for us because it balanced cost and a semi private tour.

Wonderful Day Trip

Fantastic Day Trip

What a wonderful experience. Nuno was our guide and was truly excellent and so caring. We happened to get lucky being paired with just one other couple for the trip and they were awesome. We started out driving to Douro valley. Stopped at one place and got to try 3 different port wines. Then we went to the boat ride which was really lovely. After that we stopped at a lookout point to take a photo. Next we had lunch and it was just the perfect setting outside. The chicken was absolutely delicious. We had white and red wine at this stop. Lastly, we stopped at an organic winery and had such a lovely man show the group around. It was informative and very well done. We had a few wine and port tastings, got to try 3 types of honey and their olive oil. After the tour you were able to purchase whatever you liked. It was a full day from 830-530 but I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Informative & fun port tour in Gaia

Flavio was an excellent guide. He did not just give info but also asked lots of questions of us and worked to get everyone to really get in in tune with their own palate and preferences. Don’t be surprised that you will receive a lot of information first before the tasting begins. But there is plenty of time to taste and talk about the tastings, and a good variety although it would’ve been nice to have something besides just the rose port at the 2nd stop. Flavio also got everyone talking and laughing, which made it go by quickly, and was very candid in his opinions.

This Porto port lodge tour was an absolute highlight of our trip and I’d highly recommend it without hesitation. What made it so special was the great variety — we visited three distinct lodges, from a small boutique producer with a fascinating operation and incredible wine, to a newer up-and-coming spot, to one of the grand old historic caves that really shows you the scale and tradition of port production. There was no shortage of wine to enjoy throughout, and the final stop even treated us to a lovely charcuterie spread to finish things off perfectly. Our guide Alex was absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely made the whole experience come alive. If you’re in Porto, this is a must-do.
