Exceptional History, Seamless Cycling, and an Outstanding Guide

Allison_E, Mar 2026
Our experience on the Munich City Bike Tour & Beer Garden Lunch Stop was nothing short of exceptional, led by our outstanding guide, Dan. Despite a surprisingly brisk morning, the tour began on a high note when the team thoughtfully provided gloves to ensure our comfort—a gesture that was greatly appreciated. Navigating the city streets felt entirely seamless and secure under Dan’s expert guidance, allowing us to focus fully on the sights. Dan is a remarkably gifted narrator of history. He managed the city’s complex and deep-seated past with profound sensitivity, particularly regarding the events of World War II. His ability to convey such significant historical context with both grace and poise was truly impressive. A particular highlight was cycling through the expansive Englischer Garten and concluding with a delicious lunch at a local beer garden. While I had initially been concerned that the historical depth might not resonate with my two young adult sons, they were both thoroughly engaged and spoke highly of the experience afterward. We felt we gained a comprehensive overview of Munich in a single afternoon. I cannot recommend Dan and this tour highly enough for families seeking an insightful and professional introduction to the city. Finally, I must mention a moment that truly defined Dan’s character. When I realized I was short on cash for a tip and offered to send it digitally, Dan simply suggested that I give that amount to someone local who truly needed it. It was an incredibly honorable and selfless gesture that left a lasting impression on my family. Dan is not just a master of history; he is a class act. We couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Munich.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review — it truly means a lot to us. We’re delighted to hear that your experience felt seamless from start to finish, and that even the small touches—like providing gloves on a chilly morning—made a difference. Creating a comfortable and well-organized ride is something we care deeply about. Dan will be especially grateful for your kind words. His ability to share Munich’s history with both depth and sensitivity, while keeping it engaging for all ages, is something we’re very proud of. It’s wonderful to hear that your sons enjoyed it just as much—that’s one of the best compliments we could receive. And thank you for highlighting that special moment at the end of your tour. It speaks volumes about Dan’s character, and we’re lucky to have him on our team. We’re so glad we could be part of your introduction to Munich, and we hope to welcome you and your family again on another ride in the future 🚲

Hi Caitlin, Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed exploring Munich by bike—it’s definitely one of the best ways to see more of the city in a short time. Dan will be glad to know you appreciated his balance of history and humor—that’s exactly what makes the experience so memorable. Great tour, but mind the weather!

Jason_S, Feb 2026
Despite the February snow (I would recommend doing this outside of the winter months!) Dan was a great tour guide and an entertaining and informative host. I would heartily recommend this tour in more forgiving weather.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Hi Jason, Thank you for your honest and thoughtful review! You’re absolutely right—Munich in February can be quite an adventure weather-wise 😊 That said, we’re really glad to hear that Dan still made the experience enjoyable, entertaining, and informative despite the snowy conditions. We truly appreciate your recommendation, and for anyone visiting in warmer months, it’s definitely an even more relaxed ride. Hopefully we’ll have the chance to welcome you back for a sunny version of the tour next time 🚲

Amazing tour with a great guide

Robyn_S, Dec 2025
This tour was excellent and a highlight of the trip to Munich. Tour guide Rob was energetic, numerous and knowledgable... what more can you ask for. Should.have done this as the first thing we did in Munich, not the last. No better way to see the city. I shouldn't have had the 1L beer at the beer garden at the lunchbreak on a 1 degree day...

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for the fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that the tour was a highlight of your trip to Munich and that Rob’s energy, humor, and knowledge made it such a memorable experience. You’re absolutely right — it’s hard to beat a bike tour as a way to see the city, especially at the start of a visit. And the 1-liter beer on a 1-degree day definitely sounds like a bold (and very Munich) choice 😄. Thank you for riding with us, and we hope to welcome you back on another tour in the future! 🚲🍺

Great bike tour with Karl to really know the history of Munich. Even with the cold weather we were able to enjoy.

Excellent experience.

Dee_R, Oct 2025
Wonderful way to see the city with a knowledgeable guide. We started our trip with this tour and learned a lot! Glad we brought gloves and a scarf, once the sun goes down it was chilly riding but so fun! Can’t beat the experience for the price!

Excellent tour!

Melanie_B, Oct 2025
Excellent tour. Canaan, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and history. He answered all our questions and made the tour fun. Since it was cooler, he gave us another option to eat instead of the beer garden. This cafe was great and had much history. Bikes were well maintained. We felt safe in the bike lanes. Highly recommend this tour!

Little disappointed

This was a fun experience but I really thought we would’ve had more beer stops and I was under the impression that we also had the 1 beer stops we did do, I thought the beer was included.

Super informative and really good fun! Suzanne gave heaps of recommendations too. Only issue is the group I found was too big and we we're constantly waiting on people.

A Great Ride Through Munich

Brenda_A, Sep 2025
We enjoyed this trip and our tour guide, Michelle. She was a great narrator of the city giving us lots of history of the Munich area. We did have a little mishap with one of our riders but Michelle handled it very well and frayed very calm. We had a little stop in the English Garden area were there was an Oktoberfest celebration. The beer and pretzel we had we very good!! A fantastic trip!!!

Leisurely bike tour

Angelina_J, Sep 2025
This is a great tour for beginners or people with basic skills on a bike. The ride is very slow and flat. There are not long stretches between stops. I found the pace to be a little slow but others on the tour seemed very happy. Some people had ebikes but you absolutely do not need one to do this. The highlights were the english gardens. This is a sight I probably would not have visited on foot and the bikes made it easy to explore the grounds. The lunch stop at the Biergarten was also fabulous. the food was delicious and the portions were huge!

Munich on Bike

We had the most amazing guide named Susanna. It rained during our tour but she still was great at giving us all of the information during the tour and recommended a place for lunch.

Great 4 hours riding thru Munich

Tom_B, Sep 2025
This is a very easy ride, very flat, mostly off road, when on road there is a dedicated bike lane. Stops are good, including a beer brake in the English Garden. Lots of historical sites about Munich (does have some stops that cover Hitler and Nazi points of interest) going back over about 800 years. We started our ride in some on and off light rain but even with that it was pleasent. Once weather cleared it went to wonderful. Susanna, our guide, was very pleasent and fendly. She's a transpanted American so no issues with English.

Great way to learn about the city.

Teri_S, Aug 2025
If you are comfortable on a bike, this is a great tour to take! We covered more ground than you could walking and learned so much along the way!

Best first day in Munich

Alastair_P, Aug 2025
It was a little hard to find the meeting point. Karl was a fantastic guide, he was born in Munich and was very knowledgeable. The ride was flat so no hills to climb. Great value for money.

Best way to experience Munich in a few hours

Michelle_B, Aug 2025
Susanna was a wonderful guide taking us to interesting and historical places in Munich and providing very informative commentary. I felt very safe riding (except for the 10 year old (+-) kid on the tour that would cut everyone off to get to the front.) It’s hard to say which stop I liked best but the English Gardens are best visited on a bike. I highly recommend (except for young children).

Lovely biketrip. Saw the whole citycenter in 4 hours. Enthusiastic guide who knows a lot about the histories and is really taking care of the group.

Easy and Fun Way to Tour the City

Mmartelca, Aug 2025
Our family of 5 with 3 kids (11,13,15) had a fantastic visit through the city! They took the time to make sure the kids especially were set up properly and we all had great bikes. Our guide shared all sorts of interesting facts and made the tour both fun and interesting! At the end the guide took the time to share on a map great restaurant recommendations and sightseeing spots.

Awesome experience!

Christina_S, Aug 2025
Susanna was an incredible guide. The tour was so interactive and she delivered all the info in such a humorous and interesting way! Her thorough knowledge of the city went beyond our expectations. The ride through the English garden was breathtaking and the stop at the Chinese tower beer garden was perfect for some delicious food and bevys. We’ve done many bike tours around different cities and I think this one might be the fav!

Excellent city tour

William_M, Jul 2025
We had a fantastic time on this bike tour of Munich. The riding was very easy with mostly short rides between sites. Towards the end the rides were longer which was fine. Our guide, Susanna, was great, providing great history and relevant stories.
