Excellent tour and guide. Very intense but I learned so much more about how horrific this was. This is an emotional but thoughtful tour.
Janet_H, Jul 2026
Tour guide was excellent. Gave us enough time to get where we needed to go, explained everything and allowed us to ask questions.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Great to meet you on the tour. All the best.
Michell_C, Jul 2026
This was one of the best of our 7 activities we did over 2 weeks. Andy was absolutely the BEST! He completely listened to our group and catered to our comfort and speed. That is a heavy place by itself so his guidance was exceptional.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Many thanks for your positive feedback. It was great to meet you on the tour. All the best.
Sarah_N, Jul 2026
Allun is an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He gave a great overview of the site and then gave us time to explore on our own.

Thanks Sarah, for your positive feedback on your experience. All the best.

It was very hot! If you are going in the summer I recommend at least 2 bottles of water. Alun was very knowledgeable and interesting!!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thanks Betsy, yes we are in the middle of a "heat dome" in Europe at the moment. I recommend either bringing water with or I give guests the opportunity to buy water at the visitors centre. Really happy that you got value from your experience. All the best.

Our guide was amazing!!! He explained everything to us, was clear in his instructions, gave us the option to spend time in each place on our own, and allowed us an hour to spend in the museum at the end. He explained the history to us and gave us a real insight into what happened. I left interested in exploring further. Thank you
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thanks Angela for your positive feedback. Delighted you got value from your experience. It was great to meet you on the tour. All the best.

Risa_C, Jun 2026
Alun was a great guide. Very respectful. Very informative. He kept the tour together and punctual. Would have liked a little more time in the museum.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Many thanks for your positive feedback on your experience. Yes, the museum is very extensive and you could in theory spend a few hours in there. We have experimented extensively and found that an hour satisfies the majority of people, especially considering that a lot of material is covered in the actual tour with me. It was great to meet you on the tour. All the best.

Our tour of Dachau was made truly exceptional by our guide, Alan. His depth of knowledge, professionalism, and ability to present such an important and difficult chapter of history with sensitivity and respect were remarkable.
Alan provided historical context that brought the site to life while honoring the memory of those who suffered there. He struck the perfect balance between facts, personal stories, and thoughtful reflection, making the experience both educational and deeply moving.
What stood out most was Alan's passion for teaching and his willingness to answer questions with patience and insight. His engaging presentation style kept our group attentive throughout the tour, and his compassion and respect for the subject matter were evident at every step.
Visiting Dachau is an experience that stays with you, and Alan's guidance made it even more meaningful. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, thoughtful, and outstanding tour guide.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Many thanks, for your humbling and thorough review of your experience. You are right, i am passionate about educating at the Memorial. I am really happy that came across for you. All the best
Marcia_H, Jun 2026
Alan was an excellent guide! He went very in depth about the history of Dachau stopping at various points to explain different things. Plus he gave us time at the end to wander the museum at our own pace. The grounds aren’t very big but still lots of standing and walking on mostly gravel pathways. There are restrooms at the beginning and also in the museum

Keith_F, Apr 2026
This tour was a profound experience. We thought we generally knew about German WWII concentration camps, but we had no idea about much of the information presented. Our guide Alan was excellent! He spoke perfect English and was so very knowledgeable. We walked around every aspect of Dachau; it was moving, terrifying, and critically important. We were never rushed, but Alan kept us at a pace that we could see and absorb it all. As difficult as it was to see the horrors of Dachau, everyone should take a tour like this to learn from the past and help ensure we never again come close to Hitler's Nazi terrors. We were surprised to see some people with young kids. No child should be brought to Dachua - they are just a distraction to other folks and they shouldn't see the photos, etc. Highly recommend!
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thanks Keith, for your positive review of your experience. I am delighted that you got value from it. All the best.
Randy_C, Apr 2026

We met under the glockenspiel our guide Alun led us to train for our twenty minute ride to Dachou while explaining what we were about to see.then a short bus ride to the memorial. He walked us up to each exhibit explaining what was inside . He gave us time to walk through each building and answered questions. At the end he gave us approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to view the museum or to go back to something we wanted to spend more time at. Then the bus and train back to our starting point reflecting on what we had seen and how it all started.
Response from Host, Apr 2026

We had a great tour guide very knowledgeable about the events leading to and during the time the Dachau Concentration Camp. It was a sobering experience to witness but a remembrance of the victims and survivors. Would recommend Alum as the guide.
You take a train and quick bus ride to the town and all your questions are answered during the tour.
Very well done with a great deal of reapect.

We were lucky enough to go in January or slower season. It was just us 2 and the guide. Less tourists and more time to take in what happened there. Our guide was excellent.

This trip provides a vast amount of information on the 12 years that Dachau operated. Alun did a fantastic job balancing history and narrative during the trip while providing freedom to explore on your own. He also was very experienced navigating the bus and train system to make it as comfortable as possible. Well done Alun. I highly recommend.

Alun was one of the best guides that I have ever had at a historical site. He limits he size of his groups so he can properly guide everyone through this important, complex place.
