Excellent, well-paced tour. Our tour guide, Hein, was extremely knowledgable on the history of the Dacau concentration camp and the various camp structures within the Third Reich. Hearing stories of horrible conditions in the Dacau concentration camp was heartbreaking and seeing remnant of actual camp facilities spurred deep reflection on this horrible time in history. We recommend this tour.

Tour started right on time. Company had all train and bus tickets ready. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Rushed through displays, but really had to to finish in the allotted five hours. Definitely saw wasn’t was important.

Our guide, Jamie, was very knowledgeable and thorough. He talked us through the transportation from Karlsplatz in Munich to the Dachau Memorial Site, making sure the group stayed together. At the Memorial, he explained the history of the Dachau camp from its beginning in 1933, to its liberation in 1945. Any questions the group had were answered in detail. As the first of the concentration camps to go into operation before WWII, it started as a camp for political rivals of the Nazi party, but became more of a prison camp for Jews as the war progressed. Knowing that tens of thousands of people died within those walls and fences brought the realities of the war into perspective. At the end of the tour, Jamie gave us time to explore the site on our own, read the signs, shop in the visitor center bookstore, and generally reflect on the whole experience. We were then guided back to the transportation to return to Munich. Overall this was an excellent tour, but I must warn that it was a very emotional experience, and for some it could be overwhelming. I saw a number of people weeping while inside the Memorial, so use discretion when deciding whether or not to take the tour. If you decide to go, it is an experience you will never forget. Thanks to Jamie for sharing your wealth of knowledge.

SO I initially missed the meet up point and ended up ubering to Dachau. The tour operator was more than helpful when trying to reconnect me to the group. The customer service was fantastic! Tom was our tour guide and he was so informative and interesting! You can tell that he is very interested in the topic and it makes learning that much easier. He was very respectful and kind. He allowed for time to self explore while also explaining in detail many areas and topics of the camp. Overall it was a wonderful and informative experience. I highly recommend to book a tour and learn about the history!

Must go if visiting Munich. We felt taking the guide helped give us a break from planning travel. You do not get the audio headset with a guide so keep that in mind. If you want every last detail, go on your own and get the headset.

This was one of the best tours my wife and I have been on in Europe. Our guide, Tom was outstanding. He is a wealth of knowledge and really took the time giving us a detailed tour.
