What are people saying about Mexico

Amazing experience
Next level fun. One of a kind experience. The view is spectacular and if you are worried about fear of heights or motion sickness, don't worry about either. My wife hates heights and didn't have any issues, and I get the worst motion sickness and didn't even notice we were moving ( so smooth).

Amazing Experience With Great Guides
Overall my wife and I had an awesome time on this excursion. Our guides Omar and Frank were phenomenal, and Armando our driver spent 600kms taking care of us. We’d definitely recommend this excursion. Our pickup from our hotel was on time and uneventful. It was a bus with two by two seating. Driving through the remaining hotels and Cancun area was a little time consuming. Lots of starting and stopping, but once we were on the highway things sped up. The main highway was closed due to an accident, so we ended up driving on a smaller highway through lots of little Mexican/Mayan towns. The speed bumps are egregious, so again, lots of starting and stopping. If you get motion sickness this would’ve been unpleasant, but I enjoyed seeing the different areas and towns. Frank began the guide process about 45 minutes from the Cenote, and has a vast knowledge base of Mayan history and culture. We really enjoyed learning about the Cenotes and the area around the Yucatan Peninsula. Arriving at the cenote was uneventful. When we got there, we received a blessing from a Shaman in the Mayan language, which was pretty cool. After there’s a gift shop to explore, then the main cenote experience started. We had a tequila tasting, all of which were delicious. Then you’re free to explore. There’s three main areas, the restaurant, the washrooms/change rooms, and the cenote itself. The restaurant was buffet style, and the food was good. Nothing to write home about, but tasty nonetheless. We started there, then went to get ourselves changed for the cenote. Lockers are highly recommended, and the life jackets are mandatory. The cenote is gorgeous. You really have to see it to believe it. The water is brisk, but refreshing, and there’s an area to dive off into the water. It was magical. Next was a 45 minutes bus ride to Valladolid. It’s a small Mexican town on the way to Chichén Itza. Very authentic, lots of colourful buildings with a large Catholic Church in the centre square. It’s very reminiscent of a small European town, which is pretty interesting. I think it would’ve been nicer to go prior to the ‘touristification’ of the town, but still enjoyable regardless. Then our bus took us to Chichén Itza. We arrived around 3pm, and had two hours to walk and visit the ruins. It really is stunning, and an awe inspiring sight. Omar gave us the option to join the group for a guided tour of sorts, or to go on our own. We chose to go with Omar, and it was well worth it. Omar provided lots of facts and information about Chichén Itza. We learned about why it’s one of the 7 new world wonders, learned about Mayan sacrifices, saw the ball arena, and learned about the calendar. It was awesome. With that the tour was over, and it was about 2 hours and 15 minutes back to Cancun, with an hour time change. It was a very long day. We ended up leaving our hotel at 8:20am and got back around 8:45pm that evening. Well worth it, but definitely a lot of driving. We had a blast, and would recommend the team at Amigo Tours. Thanks again!

Ride pickup was seamless...
Ride pickup was seamless coordinating with Rafael via WhatsApp. It was so amazing to be up in a balloon for sunrise over the temples - highly recommend. The other activities were a nice bonus and Saul did a great job coordinating and explaining along the way.

Be prepared to eat, drink...
Be prepared to eat, drink and then walk! Be ready to socialize as well! Getting to interact with those visiting the area as well was so fun and memorable! Chris and Clever were very knowledgeable on Lucha Libre and did an excellent job leading the group the entire time. I wouldn’t have wanted to experience Lucha Libre without a guide!

Mexico is a tapestry of climates, cultures, and histories. Engage with Mesoamerica’s history by exploring one of the country’s many world-class ancient ruins, from Chichen Itza to Teotihuacan, or dig into the food scenes of Mexico City, Merida, or Mazatlan on tours that highlight regional delicacies. Plenty of Mexico tours are made for revelers, such as yacht rides and beach club experiences, while others are tailored to those interested in local culture. The options are as diverse as the country itself.
