Amazing experience with Volare. Everything was smooth and well organised from start to finish. Our pilot, Juan Manuel Diaz, was incredibly skilled and had such a great, positive attitude that made the whole flight even better. He got us impressively close to the pyramids, which made the views feel surreal. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

When they say they’ll drop you back off at your hotel, they do not mean it. Driver asked us to get out of the van and walk 30 mins back to our hotel. Or we’d have to wait an hour and 50 minutes.

Thank you for your feedback. Severe city traffic can unpredictably delay vehicle drop offs. In cases of heavy gridlock, our drivers offer guests the option to walk the final distance as a faster alternative to sitting in traffic. We appreciate your understanding regarding live transit conditions beyond our control.
The balloon ride is smooth and safe, an experience to be remembered. The pyramids are great and our guide provided us a fundamental description of the history of the site. It's necessary to have comfortable clothes and shoes as there is quite much to walk.

The tour was great, we were staying near the angel and were picked up on time, received snacks and the baloon ride was very smooth. After the trip we returned and had a breakfast. Would recommend.

Absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish! Seamless hotel collection and drop off. Free coffee and fruit before the hot air balloon trip. Really smooth ride with just the most incredible views of teotihuacan. Delicious breakfast while the mariachi play and then great transportation to the pyramids. All staff were fantastic and the facilities were great too.

Amazing experience! Felt very safe the entire time, Juan Diaz was our pilot and he did a great job getting us close to the pyramids, getting all the best views, and answering questions throughout. Would absolutely recommend, worth the early wake up.

This was great experience for my family. Volare picked us up on time at 4:30am, we watched the balloons being blown up and were in the balloon ride by 7am. Our pilot was very professional and experienced. There was some difficulty landing first time but he managed ok after the 2nd attempt. Our total flying time was 1hr 20 mins.
The photography package was well worth it. They even took awesome drone videos of our flight. We paid around $120 for the pics and drone videos.
After the flight we were treated to Mexican breakfast and local music.
Later we went to visit the teotihuacan pyramids for few hours.
Overall experience was great and no complaints. This was the highlight of our Mexico City trip.

The best!! Would absolutely recommend! Definitely bring your own water and sun cover for the pyramids. Also, the lunch they provided was surprisingly very good!

The balloon experience itself was great but they try to sell you something at every possible opportunity and it wasn’t a very comfortable or relaxing experiencing:
1. Hotel pick up was fine but the driver didn’t have his phone on silent so made sleeping impossible.
2. Arrived around 5:20/30 and there are no seats anywhere - so you have to stand around, essentially until you’re back from your ride. No safety briefing was given to anyone - apart from how to brace yourself on landing. There were heaters outside - no seats - one of which was dangerously close to falling apart as it was physically melting from the heat emitted.
3. Volare were some of the last balloons to ascend and we didn’t not see the sunrise from the sky as it had already happened as Volare were late - absolutely no excuse for this considering everyone had been there on time. In their Q&A’s they state that sunrise is the best time for a flight due to the wind and heat, and for the views - we booked off the back of this and categorically did not have a sunrise flight/views. We were likely late to ascend because Volare have photographers who take pictures of everyone and this held the whole process up. Eventually took off around 6:45. We could have been picked up 45-60 mins later from our hotel, as we were just standing around without seats for an hour before the flight. We got 45ish minutes in the air which was decent.
4. Our pilot decided to play music for the whole of the ride so we didn’t get to experience the peace and quiet of being in the clouds. He didn’t even turn it off for a short period of time at the highest point. You’re not going to ask someone who is in charge of your life to turn off their annoying music!
5. Immediately after the ride, whilst you’re still in a field, they will unpack a load of knickknacks to try and sell to you - random obsidian things and what not. Wasting time and being annoying - why am I now standing in a field waiting to go on the waiting van after paying nearly £300 for the experience, so we can be shilled obsidian necklaces?
6. Once you’re back, you’ll be upsold the photos the photographers took before the flight. These were incredible expensive - nearly as much as the flight itself - and really poor quality with the majority being out of focus. You have to sit through this time-share like presentation before you’re allowed to go get breakfast.
7. The quality of breakfast was extremely poor - bland and cold chilaquiles, cold beans and cold and watery cactus. Bring snacks and lunch. It was also accompanied by a very intense mariachi band - who again want tips.
8. We opted to go with a guide for a tour of the pyramids. The guide was okay but, again, constantly upselling obsidian and wasting time showing us it and standing with vendors. This was expensive at $600 and I’d query whether it was worth it.
9. They do not drop you back to your hotel but they drop you near it, due to traffic apparently. The traffic in CDMX is always bad so I don’t understand this. We had to walk 5 minutes which was okay but don’t offer a hotel drop-off if you’re not going to provide it. Driver takes a picture of you getting dropped off for some reason - to confirm they haven’t dropped you at your hotel?
I went with Volare as it was slightly more expensive than others and had hoped for a better experience but the above leaves a lot to be desired for what costed over £300. I’d suggest going with a cheaper provider as at least you won’t feel like you’ve been cheated.

Flight schedules are governed strictly by weather safety rather than fixed sunrise times. Our drivers drop off nearby when necessary to bypass severe city traffic, taking a quick photo solely to confirm passenger arrival. Additionally, just like any worldwide adjacent Landmark it becomes a high-vendors site and those are independent to us. Tipping remains entirely optional. While preferences regarding music, photos, and breakfast selection differ from guest to guest, we appreciate your feedback.

It was great. As a solo traveller, I didnt feel left out. The whole experience was amazing. From the pick up to the drop off. Shout out to our pilot, Juan Manuel Diaz for flying us safely. Also to our tour guide, Enrique for offering to take a photo for me.
I highly recommend this. Plus boking through Aviator is hassle-free. Everything went smoothly. Everything was well coordinated.

We booked this tour for my birthday and the experience was truly unforgettable! Communication and instructions were extremely clear, everyone was so friendly, and the sights were amazing. Our captain, Fernando, was so kind and knowledgeable and we felt super comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the live music was a beautiful addition to our morning. I would definitely recommend this experience to anybody in Mexico City!

We had a great time. The balloon ride was an amazing experience. We enjoyed the breakfast and we signed up to explore the pyramids. The view from the top of the moon pyramid was breathtaking. There is lots of vendors selling there wears. Not much shade so I would recommend going in the morning and bring a hat, umbrella and sunscreen. Take a tour to learn about the history. Definitely worth it!

It was a great experience pickup in the morning was right on time and right outside hotel! The experience itself was great they were there to help/answer any and all questions. Our return was little iffy told us return time was 12:10 ended up being more like 1pm not sure the reason and the drop-off was in meeting points not at the hotel like the pickup was but other than that great!

Voltare was very professional and detailed. It is a bigger excursion company so they’ve really got everything down with the experience. From our timely pickup in a comfortable van, to breakfast, to our professional pilot that brought us on top of pyramids and up above the clouds, and then explored the pyramids on our free time after. Although we did not opt for the tour guide many others did.

You gotta get up early, but it’s worth it for the experience! My first time and it was beyond my expectations. Transportation to and from site is a little tight, gives you a chance to see parts of Mexico City that you might not otherwise.

The hot air balloon was cool! But they tried to charge us 100+ USD for some photos they took which wasn't cool. Also the breakfast was bad. Also the shuttle bus had poor air conditioning. However, in the restaurant where they had us wait to be picked up, two rival mariachi bands got into a violent altercation over a turf war. This was awesome, and as such my rating is increased accordingly. If this sounds scary to you, then perhaps wait outside.
