It was a great day trip to a Cenote, small town, and Chichen Itza. We got to pick our pickup spot, included the three stops, AC transportation, lunch, and tequila tasting. Jonny our tour guide and the drive were excellent.

Clear communication for pick coordinations, pick up was on time. The tour was very informative and Pastor our tour guide along with Manuel the drive did a great job in hosting us. They made sure the experience was informative. The bus was super clean, well maintained and we had a smooth ride. The only area for improvement is the lunch place, could have been better.

Rodrigo Cat is definitely the best guide I’ve ever had! He is a good storyteller and treat everyone genuinely. The trip is a magic too! The view in the cenote was stunning. Tequila is smooth and tasty. Maya culture is mysterious and amazing. Definitely a trip that will memorize with my heart. Recommend everyone to try it!

Hidden charges

The check mark on Viator said lunch included yet when you get on bus they tell you it’s not included want you to pay for up charge. Also be aware of the taxes that are not included in the price. They will email you a tax for 44 dollars. The driver said we should not have book with Viator if you wanted to eat.. poor customer service and poor deliverance of information. This was the worst experience me and family ever had.. Don’t waste your money .. it’s a money trap

Oleksii_K, Jun 2026
It's very long. We were picked up at 5am and returned to hotel at 7pm. Logistics could be better. E.g. on the way there you spend more than 30 mins at the gas station. You get generic experience of Chichenitza for 1.5-2 hrs, a lot of talking, not enough time to explore yourself. Then you go to Cenote, a lot of time is spent with shaman, at the store, tequila, and you barely have time to eat and swim. Cenote is big - Chichikan, but not as spectacular, no blue water. Food is very basic, you have to pay extra for life jackets and drinks. In the morning bus was incredibly cold (like in airplane), by 5 pm you are sweating, so get prepared for all sorts of weather. Valladolid is a waste of time, nothing to see there. If you'd do it by car you'd probably fit everything within 8-10 hrs, not 14 like for us.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Oleksii_K, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that this is a full-day experience, and the total duration, including transportation from the main hotel areas to Chichen Itza, is indicated in the tour description. We carefully balance the itinerary to include Chichen Itza, the cenote, Valladolid, and cultural experiences along the way. Safety equipment, beverages, and other optional services are also clearly listed as not included. We appreciate your comments, as they help us continue improving our guests' experience. Kind regards, Amigo Tours Quality Team

Poor organisation of the whole trip

Julie_B, Jun 2026
The chichen part of the experience was ok but didn’t end up there till 2.30 in the afternoon! When I booked the trip it said best the queues arrive early morning ! Instead we went to the chichen cenote sink hole which was amazing but didn’t warrant 3 hours there and it also stated time for shopping around Valliodiad ! We literally got of the bus and had 30mins! Advised to get a drink or ice cream sit in the famous love seats in the park visit the church it was open but unfortunately because it was all the wrong way round too much time wasted in one place and not enough in the other! If I’d have known we weren’t going the chichen nitza first I wouldn’t have booked it as we we walking around in 39/40 degree temprature I wouldn’t recommend this trip although the guide was very knowledgeable we staying in one place for 45 50 mins telling us about different ruins etc instead of directing us to the places and then telling us

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Julie_B, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to know you enjoyed the cenote and appreciated the knowledge shared by your guide. Please note that the order of the itinerary may vary depending on operational needs, traffic conditions, and crowd management, as indicated in the product description. This flexibility allows us to provide the best possible experience on each day. We appreciate your comments regarding the time spent at each stop and will take them into consideration as we continue improving our tours. Kind regards, Amigo Tours Quality Team

We had an absolutely amazing time on our Chichen Itza tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Pastor. He was fantastic—incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history and culture of the site. He brought the ancient Mayan world to life with fascinating stories and insights that you just can't get from a guidebook. The entire tour was well-organized and seamless from start to finish. If you're planning a visit, definitely look for Pastor—he truly made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Excellent tour, the assistant of Ricardo (guide) and Jesus (driver) made everything easier, confortable and interesting.

Perfect balance of history and fun!

Samantha_R, Jun 2026
What an amazing excursion! Such a wonderful balance of history and fun. Our tour guides, Paul and Pastor, and the driver Jorge, were great hosts. You can tell how passionate and informed they are. Loved learning about the Mayan culture. We did the package that included hotel pickup, locker rental and life jackets. Well priced compared what they charged at the site. Plenty of time at each location without feeling like we were sitting around. Definitely recommend comfy pair of shoes.

One big mistake ruined everything!

Chelsei_M, Jun 2026
We had a wonderful day at Chichén Itzá and the cenote was breathtaking! The problem came in when it was time to head back to our accommodations, our tour guide did not communicate with the driver (who is not at fault here) about our stop which was minutes away from the group split location. We were under the impression the bus would return those farthest away from us and return per the guides announcement but found out almost an hour into the ride there was no plans of turning back. We were then stuck an hour away from our AirBnb for nearly an hour waiting for transport back to our place. So goodbye three hours of fun in Playa! If you book this excursion, be sure to double and triple check your drop off location with the driver specifically. We are very dissatisfied with this experience and hope this company learns from their mistake.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Chelsei_M, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. After reviewing the situation with our operations team, we understand that this was an isolated misunderstanding regarding the drop-off coordination. We are pleased that the situation was ultimately resolved and that transportation to the correct location could be arranged. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again for a smoother experience in the future. Greetings from the Amigo Tours Quality Team. Daniela

It was an amazing day trip with a fantastic tour guide (Johnny Cash!) that gave us tons of information and history about every place we went! Fair warning, it is quite a long day!

10/10 would recommend!!

Alysson_C, Jun 2026
Ricardo was an amazing tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the history behind the Mayan culture and made the whole tour very engaging. We truly enjoyed this experience and would definitely recommend it to others! His partner Saul was also an amazing driver and we felt very safe during the duration of the trip.

Sexy Marcela was hilarious!

Kevin_L, Jun 2026
I want to start off with that sexy Marcela was hilarious, energetic, passionate and very knowledgeable on everything on the tour and the Mayan culture. If you want to learn all about the city, cenotes and the ruins then I would 100% recommend this tour. Personally I really only enjoyed seeing the Chichén Itzá. I could've skipped or went to a different cenote with better food. The tequila tasting was great. We ended up buying a few bottles. The cenote was beautiful to see, we swam in it for a little bit, but was over it after like 15 minutes. The food at the cenote was alright. They didn't have that much of a variety of food. We only spend 30 minutes in Valladolid which I wished we had more time to explore and try some food out. Most of the time was on the road. Overall I would recommend you take this tour early on your trip and not the end because its about a 10-13 hour day and most of it is on the bus. Give Marcela

great Trip

Nice trip. Worth to book again so I’m writing review to find it on list! I hope organisers don’t change. Best day of whole stay in Yucatan.

Chichikan buffet lunch is terrible

Kirsten_S, Jun 2026
12hrs trip turns into 13hrs.. 8am should be our pick up, were picked up by 8:30am... more waiting for people for pick up and drop off too before and after the trip. Overpriced tour for a not so fun tour, Lunch at chichikan is terrible, no protein to eat, Food was not warm at all also drinks our not included like juices or pop etc. Tequila tasting for 5mins and tequila would cost $100 usd above.. The tour guides were okay, but it was a very long trip with so much expectations that ofcourse did not met.

Great tour!

Glenn_S, Jun 2026
Juam, Juan, and Ivan were excellent. Educational and fun. Lots of well timed jokes and history. 2nd time going. Glad the strike was ended.
