Great tour! Picked us up from El Cid Resort. Did cenote, tequila tasting and chichen itza. Enjoyed them all. David got us safely to and from hotel in his van and Luis and Frank were excellent tour bus driver and tour guide. Highly recommend! Gracias Amigos!

This experience was great! Jony and Saul were amazing!! Jony knew so much and was able to give extra insight into certain aspects of the tour. Even through the rain, it was an unforgettable day. We swam in a cenote, saw older parts of the Mayan city and one of the seven wonders of the world. Highly recommended

I did a full-day tour with Amigo Tours today, visiting a cenote, a colonial town, and Chichen Itza, and overall I really enjoyed the experience — even though it was a very long day! We started at the cenote. We spent around 20–30 minutes with Paul, who explained the layout of the site, shared some interesting insights about Mayan culture, and gave us time to look around the gift shop. After that, we were free to swim and enjoy the cenote at our own pace, which was lovely. Locker and Life vest are 200 Pesos. Lunch was a good buffet and at the end we had a small tequila tasting, which was okay — not the highlight for me, but still a nice addition. We then stopped at a nearby town which looked very pretty. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily, so most people stayed on the bus. After that, we headed to Chichen Itza, where we had about an hour-long guided tour. Kevin explained the main central areas and key points of the site very clearly and after that we had another hour to explore alone. Be aware that the archaeological site is surrounded by many souvenir sellers, so if you're planning to shop, make sure you bring some cash. One important tip: the entrance fee to Chichen Itza is 697 MXN. The day before the tour, we were sent a link to pay 44 USD for entry. With the exchange rate, it would have been cheaper to pay directly at the entrance in pesos. If I had known, I would have done that instead. A big thank you to Kevin, Ricardo, and Paul for the day. They were caring, funny, and shared lots of information about Mayan culture. Ricardo, our driver, made us feel very safe, and everything ran on time. The only slightly stressful part was the pickup. I had requested hotel pickup, but instead I was asked to go to a bus stop about 15 minutes’ walk away. There were many buses there, and I didn’t know which one was mine. In the end, they did arrive on time with a big bus — so don’t worry, they will show up — but it would be helpful if they sent clearer information about how to identify the correct bus. I had a really enjoyable day and would recommend the tour.

We were travelling with our 1 year old. We loved the tour overall. Few remarks. Our guide (John) was very friendly and funny. His storytelling is very interesting and made the journey very pleasing. He also helped us with our kid when it got very heated at the Chichen Itza temple. Would recommend this tour but please check the temperature at Chichen itza before booking. It’s way hotter than the Resorts.

Chichen Itza in the...

Elisa_D, May 2026
Chichen Itza in the mid-evening was a good experience with fewer people inside Time frame for visits is good at Chichen Itza and Valladolid: could get 20 extra minutes at the cenote because of lunch time - we instead were guided and 'forced' to stay at the souvenir shop for 15 mins instead of moving forward to the main point of interest The cenote is a nice one but rather small

The tour guide did not...

Alexa_B, May 2026
The tour guide did not explain the history of the chitchen iza only the spiritual meaning and how we should be blessed that we have worked hard to be able to see it. The other 2 stops did not seem necessary either.

Awesome beautiful trip

This was a great experience! I went by myself and felt safe the entire time! The guides Franck and Tomas and the driver Abram were absolutely awesome! They were very knowledgeable and spoke both English and Spanish!! It is an all day excursion but I had a great time!! I would highly recommend this experience!! My advice would be to take water shoes for swimming in the cenote because walking down all the steps which half are stone and the other half wooden may hurt your feet!!

Overall a great experience. Manuel, Juam, and Jose were amazing tour guides; those guys all deserve raises. The tour was very organized, and there was plenty of time to do all the activities involved. If you’re looking for a day trip while in Cancun, this one is top notch.

Great tour!

trevaughn_t, May 2026
My wife and I had a great time on this tour, it was our first tour ever like this in Mexico so we didn’t not know what to expect. Our tour guide Frank did a great job with so much information about the Mayan culture and just keeping us entertained along the way during this long trip! Thomas was great in making sure all of us were accounted for, safe and also gave a great tour at the Chichen Itza! Can’t forget our driver Abram who picked us up, and got us to all of our destinations safe even in torrential downpour! Hats off to this amazing crew for a fabulous experience!

Excellent experience with Mayan culture

Dennis_V, May 2026
Very good experience with the Mayan culture and playing at the Cenote. A few things I'm not too fond of are: 1. Actual time of activities in the cenote was cut short significantly due to trying to introduce the Mayan commercial side. 2. Buffet food lacked almost any meat. 3. Dishonesty on the restaurant's part regarding beverages. You would think the basic juice introduced is covered until you see a $30 bill.

Great experience! But transport is a lot

Sydney_v, May 2026
Manuel, Pastor, and Eduardo were amazing. They did such a great job, Manuel was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of cool facts. The only thing our group didn’t love was the transport to and from the main bus pickup area near the airport. Both ways the drivers were a little reckless (speeding and swerving in and out of traffic). One of my friends needed to take anti nausea meds on the way back. This is the only thing that brought down this tour from a 5. Other reviews were right in saying that you might have a longer day than advertised, ours was 14 hours since we were some of the only folks coming from Playa vs Cancun. You spend most of the day in a bus, but we knew that when booking.

Myan Culture Expert

Shirley_A, May 2026
John was great! Very knowledgable and AMAZING HOST to our small group. Our driver Enricko was very attentive in helping us getting in and out of the van and got us back to our resort in excellent time. Highly recommend this tour. You will learn so much about the Myan history. It was pleasure doing it with John!!

Great Tour

Shreena_S, May 2026
We did this tour during our holiday in Cancun, and it was an amazing experience. It’s definitely something I would recommend to everyone visiting the area. Marcela was our guide on the bus and explained everything clearly and nicely throughout the journey. Kevin was our guide at Chichen Itza, and he was brilliant. The way he explained everything, including his demonstrations, was superb. He was funny, engaging, and made the experience really enjoyable. Our driver, Jorge, was also very friendly and sweet. The tequila tasting was a nice addition, and while the food at the cenotes was okay, the overall experience was still excellent. We were picked up from our hotel by Temoc, who was very welcoming and friendly, which was a great start to the day. The only issue we had was the communication regarding delays. At the start of the tour, we waited around 30 minutes in the bus without any explanation, so none of the guests knew what was happening. On the return journey, we were delayed by almost another 30 minutes, again with no communication or update in the bus. This is something that could definitely be improved, as better communication would make the experience even better.

Fodil_M, May 2026
Unfortunately the air conditioning of the bus went down halfway through the trip.we drove 35 minutes in the heat after the last seeing we had to wait in the heat for another bus, we arrived at our destination one hour late The guide was a bit difficult to understand because he was switching between Spanish and English in the middle of a phrase beside this the trip was very interesting

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear guest, thank you for sharing your comments. We regret the inconvenience caused by the unexpected air conditioning issue. Please know we work with some of the best transport units in the country, though unforeseen situations may occur. Our guides are trained bilingual professionals committed to high-quality service. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you again under better conditions. Best regards, Quality Department of Amigo Tours - Claudia

Must go!! Such an amazing experience!!

Ashley_F, May 2026
Manuel was an amazing tour guide he provided us with the best information about our tour. This experience was by far the best my partner and I have had in all our tours in Mexico. I would highly recommend this to family and friends. It’s fun plus educational! Also our very great driver Enrique was very prompt. He got all of us to our locations without any hassle. We wouldn’t have enjoyed our experience as much without either of them.

Memorable Chichen Itza Experience with Outstanding Guides

Martin_S, May 2026
We had an amazing experience on this Chichen Itza tour. Everything was very well organized, and the day felt both fun and informative. The food was honestly a highlight — especially the tacos at Chichikan, which were absolutely delicious and way beyond what you’d expect from a tour stop. A special shoutout to Marcela, who was incredibly sweet and made everyone feel welcome throughout the trip. Also, huge credit to Ricardo, who did an excellent job introducing the history and significance of Chichen Itza. Even when a sudden heavy rain hit, he stayed professional and engaging. Some of us insisted on continuing the visit despite the weather, and he made sure we still got the full experience. Overall, an amazing tour with great guides, great food, and unforgettable memories. Highly recommend!

Mediocre Tour Experience

Emily_C, May 2026
The guides Manuel and Juam, and the driver Alfredo was okay. However, I found that many of the guides' jokes fell flat, and I would have preferred a more informative approach. At Chichen Itza, Manuel was knowledgeable, but it was disappointing that only one guide accompanied the group while the other stayed behind. I also wish the guides had been more proactive in offering to take photos or providing additional information for those interested. While swimming in the cenote was the highlight of the trip, the experience there felt overly commercialized. There was a constant push to purchase obsidian products, and the area had vendors requesting money for photos and tequila tastings. Additionally, the food provided at the cenote was not of high quality, and I would recommend that future guests bring their own meals. Finally, I was disappointed with the brief 30-minute stop in Valladolid. Rather than providing historical context about the town, the guides used the time to advertise a specific coffee shop. I would have much preferred more time to explore the area properly.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear traveler, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We are glad to hear that Manuel, Juam, and Alfredo provided good support during your tour and that you enjoyed the cenote experience. We regret that some aspects of the itinerary and guiding style did not fully meet your expectations. We appreciate your observations and will review them carefully with our operations team. Best Regards, Quality Department of Amigo Tours-claudia

The tour started with...

Sinthiya_B, Apr 2026
The tour started with transportation pickup directly from our hotel at 7:45, on a coach bus which was appreciated. We then spent 1 hr and 45 mins picking up the rest of the people. At around 9:30, we finally started making our way to the destinations. We were greeted by Rodrigo at approximately 11 am, who was very blunt as a tour guide. Considering we were on the bus for around 3 hours, people were naturally sleepy given the mundaneness of going to stops, and the early morning/getting rest before the long day we knew we signed up for. Rodrigo began by walking down the aisle and asking people to wake up as he would not repeat instructions twice. This forced my girlfriend, who was not feeling well shortly before the start (7:30 ish) who wanted to still go in hopes of a good experience despite her unwell state to promptly pay attention to what Rodrigo demanded be an “educational tour,” removing any room for customers to make what they wish of the experience - even threatening it to be a “nightmare” if we don’t enjoy and listen to what he talks about. I recall one getleman sleeping when he was passing around a paper that spelt something in mayan, Rodrigo embarrassed him, in front of his family, by telling the person passing it to him “don’t worry about him - I guarantee he’ll ask about it later” (he didn’t). In addition, we had a couple who were left behind in Valliadad - which was stated to be first on the itinerary we were told to review - but was second. Rodrigo and his team waited the five minutes or however long they were supposed to wait. Every passenger was looking out the window to see if they were near as they had brought their suitcases and were presumably leaving at the end of the night when the tour ended. We especially felt bad because of rodgrigos fear mongering that “no one gets back what they leave on the bus.”Rodgrigo’s first words on the microphone after they were left were “we have good news, we only have 838 people at chichenitza instead of 840.” Rodrigo kept telling people to stay awake, even telling a man to “look behind [him], see everyone asleep?” Tomas (the other guide), and Orlando (the driver) were both amazing. We wished to have Tomas on our chichenitza guide when they split us up. Orlando was professional as can be. He drove over 500km’s, and had cleaned the whole bus in between stops, turning on the AC when it was getting hotter, and putting the curtains down when it was hot too. The tour contents itself were enjoyable. More time in valliadad would have been nice, but it would be hard to allocate it from elsewhere beyond the demonstration at chichiken. Chichenitza was good too, very cool sightings, and lots of culture. The cenote was the highlight as it holds infrastructure for jumping off of a dock into the water, and lots of rails/stairs etc. it is super important to pay for the 44 usd tax as the do not offer it as payable in USD if you don’t do it ahead of time.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear traveler, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the destinations, as well as the service provided by Tomas and Orlando. Wonderful trip

Gets very hot at the location and crowded. Go early in the morning. Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable

Ricardo was great!...

Stephanie_H, Apr 2026
Ricardo was great! Everything was smooth and on time. It was nice to have the day off with planning and having an itinerary made for us while visiting one of the 7 wonders of the world. You can tell Ricardo knew the archeology behind it but didn’t make it seem like a lecture which we loved! Overall, the excursion was nice but the only downside was the quality of the food. Will definitely recommend to others

5 star experience with Amigo Tours

Amy_L, Apr 2026
We loved our tour guides, Juan, Frank, and Coronado! They were really funny and informative. We learned a lot of history about Maya history and Chichén Itza. The cenote was beautiful and the water was cold and refreshing. Lunch buffet was good. Make sure to bring sun protection including umbrella and water. Be prepared for a long day on the bus. Really great experience overall and would recommend going with Amigo Tours!

One of best tours

WaiShan_A, Apr 2026
Great tour. Extremely organised and well timed. The time we spent at each place (Chichén Itzá, Cenote, Valladolid) is perfect. Our guide Omar is very funny and knowledgeable. He shared a lot of interesting information about the places we visited - what the name of the places mean, the Mayan culture and calendar etc. Cenote is very nice with clear water and it is worth visiting. Perfect timing to arrive at the Cenote with sunlight shining through at noon time. There is almost no selling or stops for shopping. One of the best tours I have been to. I would strongly recommend.

Amazing Tour

Harpreet_D, Apr 2026
Amazing experience, learning lots about this region with great tour guide Rodrigo. His team Juan and Renee made the tour so much fun and interesting.

Amazing!

Jacqueline_V, Apr 2026
It was amazing and so beautiful to see! Everyone was so friendly and super patient with such a big group!

Rushed, a bit chaotic & poor comms

Alan_M, Apr 2026
I was told I would receive a taxes payment link the day before. I did not receive it, I had to message to ask for it. The tour ends up being double the price after taxes etc that need to be added. I get a text at 04:08am telling me I will need to bring cash for certain things. The tour collection is 05:00am. The bus got a flat tyre meaning time had to be cut off activities, we got only 30 mins in Valladolid. The buffet is probably not worth it in my opinion, poor quality food. The tequila tasting, you get less than a shot total in 7 samples.
