What are people saying about Krakow

I greatly enjoyed this tour - the hotel pickup was easy and VERY well communicated. I think that your level of enjoyment will highly depend on the Salt Mine Guide your group gets, but Justina was incredible. On the drive to and from the mines, Piter, did a great job sharing some more history on Krakow and answering questions.

Wow
Excellent trip to the salt mines. Right from being picked up and dropped off the driver guided us all through the process, we were met by a fantastic guide who took us into the mines, telling all us about the interesting history of the mines. All
I can say is wow wow wow, definitely don’t hesitate in booking this trip you won’t regret it.

This is a must do!
We started off visiting a historical house in the highlands, learning about their life then and now. Then we enjoyed some vodka and local cheese. After that we went to the mountains of Zakopane where we got the cable car, had time to explore and eat lunch. We ended the day with the thermal baths which were crowded but enjoyable. There are many different pool options both indoor and outdoor, as well as a sauna and salt therapy room. It was a perfect day with our guide Kacper and I made some friends on the bus!

We were contacted by our...
We were contacted by our driver Daniel the afternoon before our trip with details of pickup time and asked if we would like a packed lunch for 60zloty as there was limited time between the 2 tours. We had one which was sufficient and was as described and good quality. The transport was minivan and as the last pickup we were in the front with the driver. This was ok but not ideal as space was limited. The actual tour of Auschwitz was well done and the tour guide informative. I did feel the tour of Birkenau could have been just a little longer . The journey back to Krakow was uneventful and we were back in good time.

If you prefer to listen rather than read.
Natalia was very informative and I enjoyed the tour. The tour particularly suited my sister as she can suffer with migraines from reading museum signage. Natalia imparted the information allowing us to take the time to just look around each room while she told the stories.

Auschwitz / Birkenau Saturday tour
Obviously these historical sites are of the utmost importance to visit. A sobering and haunting experience, as it always would be. The tour was delivered by a brilliant guide, who clearly knows the history completely and with huge relevant detail. It was seamless in terms of our friendly, helpful, safe and communicative driver navigating the journeys, clear instructions throughout. Joining the group tour with requisite tickets provided on arrival to the first site. Communication between guide and driver led to it being slick and efficient. We would highly recommend, thank you.

Incredible Tour, But Not for the Faint-Hearted (or Unfit)
This tour was one of the most powerful and memorable experiences of our trip to Poland. Visiting the concentration camps was incredibly emotional and confronting, but also deeply important. The guides handled the history with great respect and knowledge, allowing time to reflect while ensuring we truly understood the significance of what we were seeing. It’s not an easy experience, but it’s one I believe everyone should have at least once.
In contrast, the visit to the salt mines was fascinating and almost surreal. The sheer scale of the underground chambers, intricate carvings, and chapels carved entirely from salt were absolutely breathtaking. It was a perfect balance to the heaviness of the earlier part of the day.
The tour was very well organised, transport was comfortable, and everything ran smoothly. A long day, but incredibly worthwhile.
That said, be prepared—it involves a lot of walking at both sites. The descent into the salt mine is quite full-on, with a significant number of steps. If your fitness level isn’t great, I wouldn’t recommend doing both in the same tour, as it can be quite physically demanding.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting a deeper understanding of Poland’s history and culture.

Lovely scenery
Thoroughly enjoyed this whole experience as did the rest of our group. Picked up at our hotel and driven through the countryside to the various stop offs. We were in a group of 8 in a minivan. Very scenic. Great guide (Peter) who explained everything to us as we went. Loved Zakopane town and the views over the mountains were out of the world. We were told this is very busy during the winter season but there in March it was great with no long queues for the railway up and down the mountain. Dropped back at our hotel afterwards and overall had a really lovely day.

Perfectly organised and extremely interesting
I booked the organized tour for Auschwitz and Birkenau along with my husband and we were extremely satisfied with it.
It was very well organised;
The pickup and dropoff at our address made it easy and stress free.
The driver was very knowledgeable of polish history and told us many things about his country we didn't know.
The museum guide was very knowledgeable, clear, understandable, empathetic and made the visit even more interesting.
I recommend anyone to book this experience through "hello Krakow".

Great trip
Very informative and punctual, Bohdan and the driver were funny, played music and gave good information as we were driving to and from the mines. A special surprise for a group member who had a birthday, which made us all take time and cheers eachother. The mi es are vast and truly a beautiful feat for engineering.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Well-connected by road and public transport, Krakow is a perfect launch point for discovering other towns and cities in Poland. While you could set out on your own, booking an excursion that takes you around the country will help relieve the stress of planning. Day trips from Krakow include World War II-related sites—such as a former Nazi-operated concentration camp—and a UNESCO World Heritage-listed salt mine. It’s also possible to discover outstanding mountain scenery with a visit to the resort town of Zakopane in the Polish countryside, followed by a soak in the healing waters of a thermal bath complex.
