We absolutely loved this walking tour, and a huge part of that was our wonderful guide, Ania.
From the very beginning, Ania was warm, welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and had a fantastic sense of humour. She struck the perfect balance between sharing fascinating history and keeping the tour light-hearted and engaging. Before we knew it, the two hours had flown by!
Ania brought Kraków to life. Her passion for the city’s history was infectious, especially when talking about the Jagiellonian University and the important role education has played in shaping Kraków over the centuries. It was clear how much she loves her city, and that enthusiasm made every stop even more interesting.
One of the most memorable parts of the tour was hearing Ania’s own family’s experiences during the Second World War. That personal perspective added so much depth and meaning to the history and made it feel incredibly real. It was a privilege to hear those stories from someone whose own family had lived through such an important period.
The walk itself was relaxed and enjoyable. Although we covered plenty of ground, it never felt strenuous, and there were lots of opportunities to stop, take in the beautiful surroundings, and ask questions. We especially enjoyed visiting the café within the university, something we would never have discovered on our own.
Ania also shared brilliant recommendations for places to visit, things to do, and hidden gems around the city, making this much more than just a history tour. We learned about the castle, the Main Market Square, the fascinating Underground Museum, and so many little details about Kraków that we would otherwise have missed.
If you’re visiting Kraków, I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your stay. It gives you a wonderful introduction to the city, helps you understand its rich history, and leaves you with plenty of ideas for the rest of your visit.
A huge thank you to Ania for making the experience so enjoyable. Her knowledge, warmth, humour, and passion made this one of the highlights of our trip. We would recommend this tour without hesitation. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I wanted to do a walking tour to get oriented and this tour did exactly that plus more. Jacob was an excellent guide as he led us through the old town area while introducing us to Poland's history and then delving further into Krakow's history. He also pointed out places of interest for further exploration.

Our tour guide Ania was very good. Not only so informative on the history of the sites, but eager to discuss things on a one on one basis. I enjoyed our personal conversations. We covered a lot of ground in 2.5 hours. This gave us a great preview to the many wonders of Krakow.

Very good introduction to
The city with useful information to getting the most out of our stay here. Marta was informative and the small group was perfect
Eileen_H, Jun 2026
This was a huge group of probably 30 people. There were no microphones so as we were walking you didn’t get any information from the guide. While we were able to see some beautiful aspects of krakow the tour was set up poorly. Half of us paid while the other half were told they could make a donation as to what they thought the tour was worth at the end. How is that fair?
The guide was knowledgeable but was plain strange in her delivery. I heard other people mention she never moved her mouth which was true. It was like watching a ventriloquist without the puppet. Also she spent a long time at the starting point of the tour explaining the history of krakow. Twenty minutes in one place without moving seemed a bit long. There were other tours leaving after 5 or 10 minutes. One of my least favorite walking tours.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Dear Eileen, we are sorry to learn that the tour did not meet your expectations. While earphones have some advantages, we still stick to the old-fashioned way of guiding in which we tell one coherent story (sometimes shorter, sometimes longer) before moving on to the next point, rather then just sharing bits of information during the walk.
There are different payment methods depending on where people book our tours, but you can be sure that the great majority ends up paying a fair amount just like you did, even if they do it after the tour.
Kind regards, Walkative!

Tomas aka Big Tom, was the best guide! He took us on a walking tour of old town Krakow. He was so knowledgeable, perfect English, engaging, and could walk backwards while talking and leading the group. Thank you, Tomas!
Christina_F, May 2026
We booked this walking tour on day one of our visit to Krakow to help orient us to the city. Our tour guide Natalia was fantastic with amazing knowledge of the city and its history. The size of our tour group was large (20+ people) but Natalia managed to keep everyone moving while conveying information in a clear and entertaining way. This is a great introduction to the highlights and history of the city.
Theresa_R, May 2026
The tour was very informative on Kraków’s history and helped us get a lay of the land. Our tour guide, Micheal, was friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend taking this tour early in your visit to find must see sights.
Patricia_S, May 2026
Big Tom gave us an amazing afternoon ecperience. He explained, joked, provided cultural context and paid close attention to the needs of the group. His education in history provided a sound understanding of Piland and its people. It was a really good tour
