It is very impactfull. Everybody should do it. we learn a lot. An immersion in world history. Very interesting.

We received confirmation of the pick up time the evening before, around 8pm via email.
The private pickup from Park Damient was by Bartak, it was seamless, he was extremely friendly, gave us a great rundown of what to expect on the way to the first stop and even advised us on good local restaurants and cuisine to try. We can’t recommend Bartek enough.
Just a heads-up: they move you pretty quickly from the first place to the second, so there isn't time to go into the restaurant, only time to use the toilet but that is to avoid hold ups.
Our guide was with us the whole time at both camps. Michel was super informative and kept a nice pace, it was a bit quieter at the second camp, but that was just the nature of the spot as it’s out in the open.
Lots of walking involved,we did over 10,000 steps, so if you have mobility issues or struggle to walk too far, this may be a difficult excursion.
Overall, a great door-to-door service starting from 9:20 AM and returning around 2:45pm. Would definitely recommend!

A eye opening experience for sure. It just goes to show the depths of cruelty and inhumanity man can stretch to. A well guided tour with Piotr our tour guide.

This excursion was very good. Everyone that can should visit these historic sites. Reminder that we all need to kind to each other.
Tour company was very responsive to my inquiries. However, getting the time of pick up was challenging. But that is on the Auschwitz museum moving things around.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable but there were not tooany opportunities to ask questions.
Overall very good and would highly recommend.

An informative tour, in depth and tragic at the same time. The guide was good, transport efficient and the tour guide was knowledgeable

We are first time visitors to Poland, travelling to Katowice as a result of a ‘mystery holiday’ Wowcher deal. Initially knowing less than nothing about this city, on doing some quick online searches, we discovered that Auschwitz-Berkanau was not far. We decided we had to go and were fortunate enough to secure a place on this tour at the last minute. From the time we started at the meeting point until our drop-off later the trip was very well organised. And our guide at both camps, Piotr, was outstanding. His knowledge of the horrific events at both camps, including the political and social aspects, was impressive being both deep and clearly heartfelt. It was almost possible to believe that he spoke through personal experience although, of course, he wasn’t. He did however spend time over a number of years talking to survivors, two in particular, who returned here regularly. The tour was informative, interesting, and without doubt, harrowing. But it felt necessary to bear witness, to learn, even a little, of the terrible events that took place there.

The experience was wonderful. The experience could have been enhanced an earlier notification on the pick up time and a bit more details about the tour --amount of walking required, if there would be breaks, etc.

The driver that picked us up was prompt and even called me when I lost my way In Katowice. Then when we were waiting for the tour to start, it was raining and she went out of her way to find me a place to buy a poncho. The educator was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable!
All together a very enlightening and well organized experience!

Absolutely stellar experience! This tour group went above and beyond to ensure we were able to visit Auschwitz on a packed holiday weekend. Their professionalism, coordination, and willingness to assist—even when things got complicated—made all the difference. Thanks to their efforts, we didn’t miss the opportunity. Highly recommend using them—you won’t be disappointed.

The tour is very well organized and the guide is very kind. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested.

This was a very good tour, and Silesia Tours made it very smooth & easy. Kamila was wonderful driving us there & back, and making sure we met up with our guide in each place. The guide was fantastic, explaining lots of information to us and bringing us through each area. It was a really powerful experience to visit these two places, and very moving to see some of the objects left behind.

I can’t recommend Silasia Hotel & Tours enough for the trip (from Katowice) and Kamila, who was a great driver. The 2 hours in Auschwitz is a bit rushed (24-30 people per tour) and quite structured given the many, many groups. The Birkenau part is 60 minutes with guide but you can stay as long as you want after as the free shuttle btw both runs every 15 mts. Wish there was an audio guide to Birkenau as well. But the inhumanity of the Nazis truly, truly strikes home viscerally and vividly.

Our driver/tour coordinator picked us up on time from our hotel and got us to the Museum with no problems. At the museum we stood by as our tickets were purchased and then escorted into the meeting place to begin our tour. At the conclusion we were picked up and dropped back off. Thank you for your assistance. Would highly recommend.

The driver was punctual, friendly, a considerate driver, and very informative about what we needed to do once we arrived. The tour itself is indescribable and very informative, such a good experience, albiet a difficult one (emotionally).
Two minor issues -
1. The confirmation from Viator did not have any indication of pick up time and no message from the operator about the pick up time, leaving me to message on a Sunday evening the night before the tour hoping to get a response (which thankfully I did).
2. It says that bottled water is included, but none was offered. This is a minor thing in terms of cost/value provided by the tour, but if I had known it was not included, I would have brought some with me.

The ease of pick up and drop at my hotel was a convenient thing to begin with. The tour itself at Auschwitz and Birkenau is very powerful and the monument has been very well preserved. The tour guides are OK and I would recommend that you should do some reading on your end too to truly appreciate what you experience.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and well spoken. We experienced daily life in Auschwitz as we walked through the buildings and saw the pictures and the gas chambers and cremation areas.
The depravity and sim was astounding.

Just be wary, to ensure to get what you paid for, there’s no free water (minor detail) but also we were told to go back to the car after finishing the first museum, to be taken to the second one, so we did this leaving our hosted group to get a shuttle together and instead return to the transport. After travelling for sometime, we made a comment that we thought the museums were only 3 km apart. It was difficult to speak to the driver because the whole time he was on the mobile phone while driving, he must’ve understood us because he then asked are you going to the hotel? We replied now we were going to Birkenau (given this trip is meant to be between 9 am and 5 pm and we were back at the car around 1230. I would’ve thought this also would be obvious). The driver turned the car around and took us to Birkenau. However, we no longer had a tour guide group to go round with and had to wander round on our own reading the signs, not really the hosted /guided trip that we’d paid for and I’m sure we missed a lot of valuable information.
However, the place is well worth a visit and I would definitely advise that you make the trip out to it, maybe just with a different tour operator.
On the way home, the driver spent the entire journey back talking on and holding his mobile phone not particularly the best experience overall.

The pick up and experience was on time, as expected. I had the opportunity to know about the history

This was the first time I had ever used Viator, or booked a tour online, and I was so impressed. The tour guide picked us up from our agreed hotel on time, and was so friendly. He knew us by name and we had a wonderful journey to Auschwitz-Birkenau. He even waited for us the whole day and was there to take us home at the end of the tour! When we arrived at the museum, everything had been arranged perfectly and we were booked onto an English speaking tour with a guide. I was so impressed by the organisation of the whole day. The guide in the museum was great and so informative. We finished our day with a lovely trip back to our hotel with the same driver, who was informative, spoke absolutely excellent English (knew all the funny slang!) and was really friendly. Thank you so much. We will recommend this company to everyone we know hoping to do the same tour.
Roy_G, Dec 2021
There was a mix-up on departure instructions that caused us to arrive at the wrong place two hours early. After that was straightened out the driver picked us up at the new time and at our hotel. He was a very safe and smooth driver. Tour guide at the camps was overly dramatic and made it seem like somehow the visitors were to blame for what happened.

Top!
Herzlichen Dank.
