- [LUNCH] Lunch is not included. There is no time for a full meal between visits, and no food facilities on-site, so please bring a snack.
- [SECURITY] An airport-style security check is required before entering the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
- [WEATHER] The tour runs in all weather. Up to 70% of the visit takes place outdoors, so please dress appropriately and bring water on warm days.
- [CHILDREN] Children must be accompanied by an adult. Infant seats are available. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, the tour is recommended for ages 13+.
- [PHOTOS] Photography is allowed except in marked areas. Flash is not permitted inside buildings.
- [RENOVATIONS] Due to roadworks in western Krakow, pickups in that area are not possible. The Straszewskiego 19 meeting point is temporarily closed. We will arrange a nearby alternative if needed.

Since I was a child of five or six, I have always wanted to visit Europe and take a tour of major WWII and Holocaust sites. My mom was a middle school English teacher in Pasadena, and one of her colleagues and friends was a math teacher who was a concentration camp survivor. While he was not at Auschwitz and he never spoke to me about it, what very little my mom related stayed with me. My interest and desire to learn more increased when an Auschwitz survivor came to our middle school and spoke at an assembly about the same time our 8th grade English class was reading The Diary of Anne Frank. This was a powerful, but necessary and important experience for me--and a visit to this disturbing place of evil is essential. Too may people today claim the Holocaust did not happen or was not so bad. Seeing Auschwitz is concrete evidence that it did happen, it is required learning, and despite claims otherwise, it can happen again. We had an excellent bus driver and guide who got us situated to the camp, and then we had a superb guide whose grandfather had been a political survivor of Auschwitz--and his knowledge, insights, and expert knowledge made this a truly memorable tour. We walked all around the entire camp on a slightly breezy, chilly early summer day, but as the tour guide reminded us, the prisoners at Auschwitz were forced to endure far, far worse in brutal, freezing weather. I STRONGLY recommend the tour to Auschwitz as it is so important and an experience you will not easily brush off or forget. You have probably read about it, seen documentaries, and seen pictures of the camp. Being there in person is a completely different experience. I am not a "drinking man" kind of person, but once I returned to my hotel I needed a beer.
I opted to take the Auschwitz tour the same day as the Salt Mines, so it made for an extremely long day. . . by the time I returned to Krakow I was definitely tired--and I am a high energy kind of individual. Nevertheless, I definitely enjoyed the tour of the Salt Mines. I learned a great deal, and honestly had zero idea there were so many beautiful salt carvings and art work there. In addition to the great carvings, I learned a lot about the history and importance of salt mining in Poland and throughout history. Our guide was very good, and one or two individuals in our group wondered aloud if he had been trained as a teacher.
I strongly encourage you to take both of these tours, although not necessarily together as I did as it does make for a super long day with a lot of walking. I LOVE to walk--and so I was not bothered by the amount of walking, but we covered roughly 5 km. by the end of the day. If you are able to do only one, Auschwitz is so important you can't pass it up. Highly recommended day.

Coach very uncomfortable . It was. Ery hot and the curtains were missing on many windows
Driver turned coach off and didn’t return to the vehicle until just before we left. We all had to stay outside in 33•C waiting. The coach was unbearably hot. All other coaches had ac on BEFORE guests arrived back so they could go straight to a cool vehicle.

2. Tour itself is an emotional journey.
3. Given heat wave in Poland, the bus AC was almost non existent. For some reason the AC was as ineffective as possible making the bus journey very, very uncomfortable.

Communication from guides was very good especially before the tour regarding pick up location and timing. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept us moving through the grounds and buildings. One thing we didn’t know is that Auschwitz is very crowded with multiple tours and we didn’t have much time to see the exhibits in the museum because they kept us moving pretty quickly. Our guide really brought Birkenau to life for us and we found it to be especially impactful.

The tour guide was Informative but spoke very fast and at times it was difficult to keep up.
The tour of Auschwitz 1 (Museum) was incredibly rushed, constantly being ushered away to make way for the next group, meaning you were not able to observe and obsorb each section with ease and at some points we did not get to view the material at all.
The camp has been adapted to make way for the museum so alot of what you see within the buildings has been adapted or modernised for the purpose of the museum which is an incredible shame.
Auschwitz Birkenau was more about walking and viewing the camp, it was less rushed but not alot to see. Again the main budding has been adapted to a tourist shop etc.
In hindsight we should probably have booked an Independant tour, with no tour guide and walked the sites at our leisure, especially the museum side.
No issues with with the transport element, driver arrived on time and everything was well communicated beforehand, just the tour itself let us down.

This is a must-see attraction. However, it is a long, tedious tour that really takes away from what should be a solemn activity. There were several locations mentioned on the tour that would have held my interest but were not explored. Where is the re-created hospital ward? Where is the information about the guards and their punishment (or lack thereof)?

We found the trip was very well organised. Communication from 'Hello Cracow' through WhatsApp was excellent and kept us updated with pick times and location.
The guide was clear to understand, engaging and informative and the use of headphones was a great help with this.
The visit was very thought provoking and provided lots of information on a dark period of history.

Comfortable shoes are a must, as it is a long day, but it is a great experience. The only downside was the organization of the combined tour. There was a long waiting time between the Salt Mine and Auschwitz because we returned to Kraków before heading to Auschwitz. A better itinerary with one bus and one tour guide throughout the day would reduce unnecessary waiting and make the experience much more enjoyable.

The walking was not a lot: I was semi injured of my ankle and I had no issues; also a lot of older people were in my tour and they had no problems walking the distances.

The pickups and pre communication were great and on time. Our bus coordinator was very efficient. The big disappointment was our guide at the sites. He was robotic and delivered a memorized script very fast and monotone. His English was not great so we struggled to understand him. It’s a sober place and we were surprised by the lack of emotion. The travel was uneventful.

Beware of multiple emails with the wrong pick up times. I used chat site to verify in app and was given wrong information. After the fact they sent an email at 11 o’clock that the pick up time was at 10:15 AM. Hotel staff tried to speak to them for me and they refused to give a refund.

Tickets to the museum are free if you booked them within five days. We were not able to get tickets for our last min trip so we had to book with the tour group who did have tickets. We had a very large group so it was hard to see the displays. If we try to stay behind and look, then they will get too far ahead and you would lose the headset audio from the guide. We felt rushed. If I ever get to go back I would rent a car and read the signs in the museum. We would take our time to learn and see more. I couldn’t hardly take pictures because our group was so large they would be in them.

Well organised but 18 on minibus when maximum was supposed to be 15. very good communication beforehand. Pick up from hotel was perfect, however we were not returned to hotel after the trip

Highly recommend a tour to Auschwitz Birkinau. Such an eye opening experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, however the tour group was very large and the tour itself felt rushed. I would have liked a chance to think/ reflect as we were walking through looking at things. Originally I booked the tour for 930, this was then moved to 1130. Luckily I didn’t have anything else booked this day. Overall still a good experience
