Easy pickup with nearby coffee shops to wait in. Comfortable mini van. The mine itself was stunning and the guide that took us around was excellent. Wear layers though because temperatures can vary quite a bit in different parts of the mine.

Go to the salt mine and take one of their tours, but don’t use this company. The salt mine tour is fantastic. The mine’s tour guide did a great job and it’s fascinating. Beautiful salt sculpture and rooms.
Unfortunately, the guy that drove us was rude and is definitely NOT a safe driver. Some of the people booked the French speaking tour and the guy didn’t speak French. They were totally confused and the operator didn’t care. Rude to everyone.
Again, go to the salt mine. Just do it through another vendor.

A fabulous day at UNESCO Heritage site. The salt mines are one of a kind and should be viewed by everyone. Legendary Krakow was our tour company and our driver was Oskar. He was on time, drove well and got us into the event easily. He was also very polite and very nice to talk to. You need to pay him more money employees like that are an asset to your company. If he is your tour guide you will have a great day. Thank you for a wonderful experience

It was ok. Didn’t find it overly interesting BUT make sure you are fit as there are 800 steps to climb done. I’m day 3 and my calves are still in so much pain. Beautiful church at the bottom.

Has to be seen to be believed. Great small group tour. Plenty of opportunities for photos. Well worth the visit.

The activity itself was great and very interesting. We would have preferred to buy tickets directly from the official website, but they were sold out, so we had to book through a local tour company. Unfortunately, these companies are mostly tourist traps. They charge a massive premium for what is essentially just a transfer—which would normally cost a fraction of the price—without adding any real value to the experience. This could be prevented if official sites blocked third-party companies from bulk-buying or reserving tickets, ensuring they are only available to individual visitors.

The day started really well with a really friendly and funny driver. The tour at the mine is well organised to give you plenty of time and information to get the history of the amazing salt mines. There are a couple of free time stops to rest and refresh. Great experience

We loved the Salt Mine. We did not like the tour operator: he dropped off in front of the mine with our job to find the entrance and wasn't even on the taxi to go home. Add to that a 30-minute wait at the beginning and a 30-minute wait to get picked up leaves me with a less than desirable tour.

Two and a half hour trip down the salt mines. Trip looses some of its magic as most of the spectacular sites are shown on the promotional info

Easy way to get to the Salt mine. The van just picks you up and you’re on your way. They also take care of the tickets. Salt mine tour was pretty cool
Sophia_C, Sep 2025
The tour was great. However our credit card was charged for an amount superior to the price that was advertised. Be careful about advertised prices which mention as from a certain amount. You may end-up paying a higher premium.

well Maintained , over 300 stairs to go down and lots of walking. This was a large group of 37 people

Well organized. Piotr our driver was very punctual and friendly. He picked us up at the door of our hotel and drove us to and from the mines. He even gave us some tips for local restaurants and sightseeing in Krakow.
The guided tour was also very good and interesting. The tours inside the mine are provided by the Salt Mine museum itself. There are many steps going down so I don't recommend if you have limited mobility.
Overall I highly recommend.

Mostly v modern underground
New struts, new floor, modern statues.
Lots of walking and stairs for no reward
Travis_F, Jul 2025
This “tour” was nothing more than a shared taxi service that purchased the individual ticket for you. I still had to stand in the single ticket queue for 45 minutes waiting for entry. It would have been the same just taking a taxi or the bus to get there but a lot cheaper! This is not an organized group tour as I was expecting.
Once there the salt mines were absolutely amazing and way more expansive than I had expected.
Victoria_R, Jul 2025
Great transfer to and from the Mine - the driver was efficient friendly and communicated clearly the proceedure however once dropped off at the mine - the queuing system was chaos - we missed our ticket time due to volume of visitors and were delayed by 45 minutes.
Once in the mine all was forgotten as it was fascinating and truly something that should be seen by all.
When we left the mine, we had to find our guide parked up - thankfully he had left a contact number & we could google map back to the location.
Charu_A, Jul 2025
The tour guide, tall guy probably named Martin, was very friendly, jovial, lively and explained things well.
2 seniors in our family group couldn't complete the tour after 1 hour due to physical strain so he quickly arranged escort for them to take them back.
Suggestion: Break time for clicking photos & eating should be a little longer as it is a physically demanding tour so tourists need some time to catch their breaths and enjoy the tour properly.

Salt mines
We had anticipated coming to see the site based on all of the great reviews. However, we had a very disturbing beginning to our tour. Our tour guide, by the way, was wearing costumes that looked very much like stormtroopers. This was a very uneasy feeling with us. The tour began with our guide who admitted that he was doing this part-time job to improve his English; his full-time job was in finance. Anyway, you start the tour by opening your door, and then we proceed through another door. This was when the yelling started. Apparently we did not hear the beginning of a sentence which was “do not open the gate” the word he used instead of door. All we heard was “open the gate.” The tour guide, whose name was Maciel started to yell at five of us who had gone through the door. “What did I tell you? What did I tell you I told you do not open the gate, but here you open the gate. This was not done in a friendly way but in a very demeaning and chastising way. By the way, all of us are all season educators. This was a very rude opening, spoiling the rest of the tour for us. Apparently he has gotten feedback on his tone and language before since he apologized at the end. But still a horrible guide who also did a poor job telling us what we were seeing. The Salt Mine your itself was not that interestimg. It could have been made better with better monologue.
David_E, Jun 2025
Our driver communicated well and was on time. The tour itself was organized and great. Just a lot of walking and many steps down. (There is an elevator for return.)
Donna_F, Jun 2025
Great experience to be so far underground. Not good if you can't walk far or go down a lot of stairs. Also not good if your claustrophobic. Very interesting with a tour guide to explain everything while your going around the mines.
Mary_W, Jun 2025
Lots of stairs so be in good shape. Our driver was 45 minutes late picking us up and was nice but didn’t talk to us much
AllenFilstein, Jun 2025
Driver picked me at hotel at stated time in minivan with others for a 30 minute drive. He then gave us our admission tickets at the mine to wait in line for our scheduled time. We had an excellent guide. Not for anybody with mobility issues. Walk down many, many steps and also a lot of walking on level ground
Fanny_C, Jun 2025
The visit to the salt mine was interesting and fun. Unique UNESCO site to see the history, art and chapel created by the salt rocks. The trip was well organized, special thanks the Oskar who took us there and back. He is very detail oriented, properly informed us and very friendly.
Gail_P, Jun 2025
Very, very crowded and oversold. Salt mine was very interesting, especially the sculptures. Worth seeing. Unfortunately, our first driver spoke virtually no English; he told us where to meet the return driver, but it was NOT where we entered the mine; it was 500 m away, and we were unable to find the pickup spot. The return driver tried to contact me on WhatsApp several times then finally figured out we were at the other mine entrance. Had our first driver explained this (or spoke English), we could have saved 45 minutes of wandering the town trying to find our return ride. I was not happy about this. Otherwise, tour ok; be aware, there are 40 flights of steps to descend, then another approx 2.5 miles to walk underground.

Fantastic trip. The salt mines are amazing. Lots of history about the mines and the salt carvings are phenomenal . It's hard to believe they were carved by miners, not by trained artists. There is a lot of walking at a fairly good pace - at least 3 miles, but it's flat. Lots of steps down. They may have overemphasized the cold. Almost everyone was removing jackets. Our driver was very personable. Highly recommend this trip
Jane_B, May 2025
Excellent trip! Just make sure you are aware there are 800 steps in total to level three in the mine. There is also a very small lift back up to the surface it takes only 9 people, a bit of a squeeze!
