Had a nice tour, enjoyed our time with Mrs. Asaka. I thought she did a really nice job explaining the history and Kyoto. She walked us through the local university campus and we saw the cafeteria on the way back to the train, and it was unexpectedly a highlight of the tour. It’s nice to see a glimpse into everyday life. Thank you
A wonderful experience. Our guide Meryem has been living here for five years. She met us in front of our hotel and took us on a walking tour which included Osaka Castle dotonburi and other niche spots that she was aware of.
We navigated public transport walked around a lot and got a general understanding of the lay of the city.
A great way to start our stay in Osaka
Harry was a great guide . He scheduled us go first to the Hiroshima memorial peace museum before the crowds arrived. We went straight in and it wasn't crowded. By the time we finished, the line to to get in stretched around the building. We ate close-by and shopped at a mall. Although we planned to to take a ferry to a shrine, we instead headed to Hiroshima Costco where I bought electronics and my wife bought skincare products. This was the advantage of a private tour, there was flexibility in our itinerary as we saw fit. The van took us four and 2 wheelchairs. Overall a great experience.
It was a great way to start our visit to Tokyo. We learned a great deal about the city, the culture and the metro system. We were able to tour the areas of our interest. Shion is a very pleasant person; he is an informative and accommodating guide. He made our day and reimbursed us a lot for a disappointing loss of time due to a last minute no show by the original tour guide.
Our guide Ada was the perfect emabassador and guide for our Kyoto tour
We loved the flexibility and customizability of this tour. There is so much to see in Kyoto, and Ada (BEST TOUR GUIDE OF OUR ENTIRE TRIP SO FAR) was amazing in helping us narrow down and hit the highlights, regions of the city, and our personal "bucket list" items. We loved Daigoji Shrine, the cherry blossoms, and the overall vibe of Kyoto. There is so much to see...I wish I had 3-4 more days!
Kaeko was a GREAT guide. We came from Tokyo with the lingering desire to learn more about Japan’s history and Kaeko delivered! She was very knowledgeable, kind, and answered all of our questions. I recommend this approach of a private tour, if you can book it. These sites are so monumental and there’s a lot to learn about Japan so it’s nice to have a private guide who can focus on you and you alone. Her English was good too, even though she was modest about it sometimes! Kaeko also took us to her favorite Soba noodle place. She was considerate about our time and what we wanted to see and do. She was such a delight as a human being but also appreciated her respect and knowledge for the temples and history of Kyoto! Overall, would recommend Kaeko and this tour!
Chiho was a wonderful tour guide. She communicated wonderfully prior to the tour. After selecting the places we wanted to visit, she planed a great itinerary. She had great suggestions for our day. She arrived at our meet up spot ready for the day of adventure. Because Chiho thought ahead we were able to visit Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden on a Sunday during cherry blossom season! She saved the day by pre-purchasing us tickets to get into. (We repaid her of course) It had not even crossed my mind to get tickets. She help us understand the train system in Tokyo so we felt confident using it other days. We have a marvelous first day in Tokyo on our first visit due to Chiho. Thank you
Naru was a FANTASTIC guide for our whirlwind tour of Kyoto. It was so nice to have him guide the taxi drivers, suggest the best photo opportunities, and take our group’s photos during our one quick day in Kyoto. He was great about letting us set the pace based on our interests but still keeping the itinerary moving. I feel like I would have been frustrated and overwhelmed trying to do even half of what we did on my own but he guided us effortlessly. Wear your best shoes! I think we did 18,000+ steps together.
Our guide was great!!! She worked with us to ensure we saw what we wanted to see and enjoyed each experience. She found us an out of the way noodle house for lunch that was excellent and helped us navigate customs and ordering. We thoroughly enjoyed her company.
Toru was an excellent tour guide. He was proactive in communicating with us in advance regarding our interests and designed a fitting itinerary. As a local, he learned the day before our tour that the Emperial Palace was open so he arranged for us to visit! This is extremely rare and unique as it is usually only open for the Emperor's birthday and new years day, and is over crowded. We were able to tour without a very long wait. Toru helped us to understand and easily independently navigate public transportation for our trip. We toured gardens at the beginning of cherry blossom season, observed a Buddhist ceremony, sampled sake and traditional appetizers, and enjoyed a popular local tempura meal together. Toru gave us suggestions and shared locations for places to visit later in our trip. I would highly recommend Toru!
We had a blast with our tour guide Zoma. He created a fully customized itinerary for us based on our wishes and allowed us to explore a lot within just one day. Very knowledgeable and willing to accommodate all our requests. I fully recommend this tour if you are in Tokyo and don't have much time, but still want to make the most of it.
As first time visitors to Tokyo I could not imagine a better way to experience the city than this private tour. Our guide Jason was knowledgeable, engaging, and attentive to our needs and wishes throughout the day. His commentary as he drove and at each stop throughout the day made for a memorable and culturally enriching day.
