We had a lovely day with Mr Koji- we were unlucky that it was a cold day so some of the views were not possible. However we enjoyed the scenery and Mr Koji was very kind and tolerant of our exuberant children. Was very smooth using a guide.

Tatsu was promoted, understanding, efficient and quick thinking by. He truly represented the Japanese spirit of dedication and kindness making sure we got on the right buses during the tour and at the end waited til we left in our hotel bus for home. He was patient with our very head strong Americanized 4 year old played with her and made her a crane. He was able to help navigate with efficiency and ingenuity when our Hakone pass we bought wouldn’t work a few hours into activating it and we were so grateful that he could communicate with each place and bus we went on to explain our situation and in true Japanese form they were kind enough to let us through as they saw we truly had paid for the pass. I learned so much about each area we went to, he was able to accommodate my husband’s vegetarian diet.and we worked on my Japanese together as we went along our 6 hour tour. We are so grateful to him and would whole heartedly recommend him as a tour guide. We hope if he ever visits the US we can give him he same quality of care he gave us.

Tatsu was incredible. This tour has all you need to see in Hakone in less than a day. Great experience and Tatsu accommodated to go see the open-air museum. Great guide and would definitely recommend!

The tour was a great experience. Our guide Tatsu contacted us in advance and prepared a schedule according to our interests.
Tatsu was knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. He was highly emphatic and flexible. One of the best guided tours we ever had.

Nanako was amazing. She planned a full day where we covered the entire Hakone in one day. Nanako was very knowledgeable about the area and she made our day pleasant! Highly recommend!!!!

We had an amazing time exploring the Hakone area with Akira. He tailored the one day experience perfectly to our interests. Including cruising across Lake Ashi, strolling the through the Hakone Open-Air Museum, traveling the Hakone Rope Way, and visiting the Hakone Shrine. Every moment felt thoughtfully planned. He helped navigate local transportation effectively on a busy holiday and recommended a delicious spot to eat lunch. We had so much fun with Akira and would highly recommend him as a guide.

Mike our guide was great. He explained to us a number of things along our journey. Unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to see mt Fuji.
Bye a great day overall. Definitely do the tour it was informative and had a few laughs along the way

What an amazing tour! Hori did a fantastic job. Even though it was raining that day, he planned out the day. He had all the bus,trams,boat scheduled out. Even lunch was great. Good English, knows his history. We had an amazing day. Highly recommend...

This is a very expensive tour for what we experienced. Whilst Max our tour guide was nice, and he was happy to take photos for us, it started and ended up very disappointing. We rushed through the Picasso museum which we wanted to spend more time on, then finished the tour a head of schedule because we had covered everything earlier then anticipated. We ended up trying to fill in the time (by sitting around) waiting for the sunset when we could have spent more time at the museum earlier in the day. Just bad planning! Max bought some Japanese sweets for us to try, which ordinarily would be a nice gesture, except he bought one for himself and one for us to share between the two of us - what?! We just paid for your lunch, which cost 3 times the amount of the small sweet and you couldn't buy us one each?! - We were dismayed. Further, Otomo Tours and the tour guides needs to be more clear on whether the tour guides lunch needs to be covered, as there was some confusion. Apparently we didn't have to (but on another tour with the same company we did?!), but it wasn't made clear to us until it was too late. In hindsight we could have visited the places ourselves and saved us a whole lot of money. Disappointing.

While we understand that you would liked more time at the Hakone Open-Air Museum, we also seek your kind understanding that as this is a tour, we are unfortunately unable to spend too much time at one particular spot, at the expense of others.
In addition, regarding the lunch issue, we make our policy (as explained in our reply to your other review) clear to our guides, but there could have been lapses in communication along the way, so we will ensure that this does not happen again in the future.

Our tour of Hakone was our favorite day in Japan! Max was the ultimate tour guide! We saw more sights than we thought possible in one day. He navigated the public transportation and helped us purchase tickets. He answered all of our questions, was extremely knowledgeable and was pleasant to talk to. We were able to be flexible with the timing of each stop, spending more time in some than others, based on our preferences.
