We had a great tour of the Alhambra, Generalife gardens and Nasrid palaces originally built by the Nasrid dynasty with some additional by the Spanish Christian monarchs. We had a great guide who shared insights on how Granada was ruled over the centuries. Beautiful architectures from the Nasrid influence. Well worth the visit.

10 out of 10!!!! This was one of the very best tours I’ve been on ever!!!! The Alhambra was amazing and our guide, Javi was the BEST!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The tour company was very good to work with and even though we were the only ones in our group, they didn’t cancel so we got a private tour and it was spectacular! I liked the order of the tour, ending with the palace and interior ornate rooms, so it built up to the most amazing part at the end. It was not rushed at all, so we had enough time for pictures and questions. Javi gave us some excellent background information and history. I highly recommend this tour! Don’t forget to bring your passport or ID with you-they do check it at the entrances.

This was such a neat and raw experience to see in Granada. We truly could feel the passion from the performers. It was intimate and cozy inside the small cave and we were all captivated throughout the entire show. Highly recommend, do not hesitate in purchasing this..it’s worth it!!

The performance was...

The performance was absolutely brilliant and never seen anything like it. We ordered the tapas meal alongside it, we were all vegetarian and 1 of our party gluten free so it was understandable they made everything gluten free so the food was a bit simple (2 bowls of hummus with veg and bread to share, 2 plates of salad, 2 dishes with fried eggs and potato’s, 2 plates of roasted veg and rice pudding for dessert) but nobody went hungry and looking at others tables meals they were suitably sufficient without the dietary requirements.

Mercedes is an excellent tour guide (English). She is very knowledgeable about Alhambra, Nasrid Palace and Granada. Remember to bring your passport or drivers license as ID or they won’t let you in. I wish there had been a reminder sent since I booked this trip months ago. The woman at the meet up site stated that you need an ID to get in everywhere in Spain. I’ve been here for 3 weeks and it’s the first time that I was asked for ID.

If travelers are lucky enough to get Katia as their food Sherpa, they’re in for a real treat. Her wealth of knowledge of Spanish history, traditional foods and unique wines is incredible. All three spots we stopped at allowed us to try dishes we hadn’t enjoyed yet during our stay in Granada. We left with full bellies and big smiles. Dress for the weather, make sure you are ready for cold or rain if need be as we had both. Also, we walked from the train station, it is long with lots of uphill so I would take a taxi if going again. Our guide,Richard, was excellent. Very interesting, personable and knowledgeable. We have had guides around the world and he is one of the best. Highly recommended!
