Granavision was an utter failure - they should be ashamed of ever dealing with tourists. We arrived at the dedicated spot with time to spare only to be told that the small group guided tour we booked months in advance was ‘cancelled’. Needless to say, we did not cancel - we traveled internationally to Spain specifically to see the Alhambra. We received the usual confirmation from Viator and they always communicated with us in the past if a tour had to be cancelled. We received no such communication so of course we thought all was well. Upon arrival we presented our Viator confirmation to get our ticket only to be told that there was no ticket and no tour.
DO NOT book with this company. They are in charge of reserving the guided tour and entry to the Alhambra and they failed to do that. They could not explain why our reservation was not in their system, and only said that it appeared as cancelled. They said that Viator had probably emailed us saying it was cancelled. We always check and are super responsible with these things and not only did Viator not email us to cancel but they were emailing almost everyday to say to get ready for the tour. How can a reservation that does not appear in their computers can magically appear as ‘cancelled’. If we could leave less than zero stars in our review we absolutely would.

To start with a positive, the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens are amazing.
This tour was not however amazing. The welcome was chaotic and unfriendly. You needed headphones to listen to the guide on the provided headsets, this was not highlighted during booking so you had to buy them at the check in desk, 1 Euro, but I could have had my own and not created waste.
The tour was billed as an English tour but we had 4 German tourists added onto the group which meant that the guide had to keep stopping to speak in English and then repeat in German. This did mean we had time to look at the views but it made the walking very disjointed and lost the flow of information. To be fair it was impressive that the guide could switch so easily between languages.
The radio signal kept dropping out and was crackling the whole time, it was not possible to adjust the sound level. This meant you lost a lot of information and by the end of the tour I was completely disengaged by the disruptive talking, very sad.
The guide was very effusive but did not manage the group very well, we all got spread out and it was difficult to hear questions.
One member of the group required a wheelchair but this had not been arranged beforehand so there was a lot of waiting before we could actually start the tour. We stopped for a 'short' 10 minute break which actually turned into about 30 minutes.
With the delay to the start, the constant stop/start with translations and then the extended break this did not feel like good value for money.
There are many tours available, check carefully before you select would be my advice.

Do not book this tour. They moved the time slot by two hours forward and then refused to refund saying the terms and conditions allowed them to change time. Yes, may be by 30 mins, but not two hours early. We planned the trip through several cities in Spain and could not make it by two hours early. The providers do not care about you at all, not even an apology. Avoid at all costs. The only consolation was that Viator agreed to refund, we are certainly grateful, but we needed a tour, not a refund.

Francesco Treig was the gentle soul providing us with a captivating picture of the Alhambra. He helped to bring the place alive, and guided us in such a way that we stayed away from the larger crowd gatherings, while colouring the tour in his warm and personal way.

It was advertised as a small group tour of 10 but we were part of a 20+ group tour. It started with a 30 minutes delay - we were informed only after arriving at the meeting point.
The guide was okay, gave us a basic history but was not very engaging. I expected more from a guide that charged double the official Alhambra tours.

Sometimes, depending on availability, we are forced to slightly exceed the limit for small groups (which is 15 people). We regret that this situation affected you.
As for delays, we depend on many circumstances, and since you have not informed us about what we told you regarding your visit, we cannot tell you exactly what may have happened.
Regarding your guide... they usually receive extremely positive reviews... we are sorry that you did not have the same experience.

The tour was exactly 3 hours long, and it was definitely worth it to have somebody bring you through and tell you the history of the Alhambra because there is so much history in that place! My tour guide, Felipe, was super knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour to people who are interested in being shown around. I did see several tourists lost as they were trying to navigate their way around the Alhambra and totally think this is worth the money to have somebody who knows the grounds with you. I would pay to do this again.

We had Antonio as our guide and he was terrific. He was informative and entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. He seemed genuinely proud and interested in the history of the Alhambra and the region. Cannot recommend him highly enough as a guide. Our booking time was changed at the last minute from morning to afternoon, but the company responded immediately to all my messages and questions which I appreciated.

We were very disappointed with this small group tour. Being a small group tour it was very expensive and I expected a much better experience. We were a small group of about 10 people which I liked. However the negatives:
1) Rushed - the tour was extremely rushed. We could never stopped to take in the rooms/decor/view/gardens etc. Hardly had time for any pictures. We were just herded through like cattle.
2) We chose this tour as an English tour but the guide spoke in both English and Spanish. Every sentence was said in Spanish and then English so fast. Being that all he said was spliced between the two languages for each sentence, we had no continuity of a single explanation. It would have been better if the entire description for something was said in one language and then the other if it was a bilingual tour.
The guide spoke English well and had the knowledge, so that was not the issue but how the two languages were intertwined.
I learnt more from reading my tour book afterwards than what I leaned there.
We were very disappointed and did not appreciate the Alhambra like it was meant to. Would have been better if we did it ourselves and read the book along the way.

Small group tour is the way to go for Alhambra. Our guide Jenny was engaging and captivating. She moved us along at a reasonable speed while speaking both English & Spanish. The only negative was that the local tour company moved our start time back by one hour. Luckily we had enough buffer with our train schedule.

We booked 12pm but the tour was rescheduled to 10am with less than a day's notice, fair enough it was a part of the policy but it meant that we missed a out 2/3 of the guided tour.
The guide Gustavo was great and knowledgeable but the tour of Nasrid palace was a littl rushed.

This tour is the best way to get a well-rounded understanding of this major historical site. Gustavo, our guide, made sure to include everyone, took care to answer all questions, and provided a wealth of information that would be missed if you tried to see this site without an expert. Not only did he teach us about the purpose, construction methods, major historical events, and all sorts of context from Spain's history, but also the tour was well-paced, entertaining, and fun. I appreciated the way Gus helped us "beat the heat" by taking care to walk in the shade as well as pointing out the best photo spots. I highly recommend this tour!

We enjoyed our 3 hour tour of the Alhambra with Guillermo / William very much. He was clear, enthusiastic, well-organized and very interesting, and we would not have been able to enjoy this magnificent historical monument and gardens as much without his professional expertise. He was fluent in English and Spanish and kept our small group engaged - and moving at a good pace. Definitely recommend!

The Alahambra is breathtaking! Unfortunately, our guide never showed up, so after 40 min of waiting and stress, the company shoved us in to a large group tour that started an hour previous to our arrival. The experience was very disappointing and handled very unprofessionally. I would not recommend this tour company. Definitely go to the Alahambra just find another tour company.

We tried to do our best to join you with the rest of the group but was impossible to contact the guide because she was not picking up the phone (because she was with the rest of the group). This experience was filled with beauty, enchantment and history. Our guide took us on a time travel that breathed life into every area of this unimaginable "town" on a hill. Doing a small group tour was a first-class experience protecting us from hordes of wandering tourists. Our guide was bilingual and spoke both Spanish and English and answered all of our questions. We never felt rushed and he gave us his unconditional attention the whole time. At picturesque spots he took our photos and even gave us a potty break. We came away with an understanding and appreciation of the Al Hambra.

Our guide Carlos was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and could even recite some poems from the period. I totally recommend this tour as the site is enormous and could be overwhelming without a guide.

I am reviewing the tour guide Fabiola not the company. I would give her 0 stars if it was an option. She did less than the bare minimum and looked like she didn’t want to be there the entire time. She basically walked through the whole compound at HER pace and never checked in with the group which consisted of older visitors and a pregnant lady, during which she nonchalantly pointed out some details whilst skipping most of them. There was no time to stop in each room of the Nasrid Palace to admire the craftsmanship, she just wanted to get out and be done. In short, Fabiola made Alhambra BORING. There was nothing she said that wasn’t already in guide books, she really shouldn’t be doing this job. In the end most people in the group just left before she brought us back to the meeting point. DO NOT book with Fabiola if you’re looking to learn about the history of Alhambra or a small, intimate experience. This is the worst tour we have done. We couldn’t be more disappointed with our experience.
