An absolutely fantastic...

An absolutely fantastic day from start to finish. I really appreciated the safety on the boat from the second you stepped aboard. We got snorkels and flippers straight away and then were able to enjoy the boat ride to the reef, which was about an hour and a half. Do take care! The water was very choppy so, for three $ I bought the anti sickness meds aboard and was really glad I did- others didn’t and definitely suffered . We had a short safety and instructional briefing before getting out onto the reef and what an incredible experience. The lunch aboard was absolutely fantastic and more than enough for everyone. Just such a good experience from start to end and absolutely something I would recommend for anyone travelling to Cairns

This was a phenomenal tour itinerary and did not disappoint. What made it even more amazing was the tour guide, Marc. He was calm, easy going, inclusive, knowledgeable, had excellent recommendations for any area, humorous, and an excellent driver and guide. He truly went the extra mile for each tour member. Additionally, the van had an excellent van microphone and was comfortable and clean. All things I appreciate greatly.

It is amazing to see...

It is amazing to see Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef from the sky. The view from the plan is amazing and the pilot is so good with commentary and making sure all passengers get the best views. We then visited both Whitehaven and the Reef the next day and it was great to experience both from the sky and the land. Highly recommend this experience

With Scott, our guide, it was a grandioos adventure. He made our day. Hé told us about everything but not to much. So we had time to rest between the actvities. We had time enough to the scenic world train, the skyrail and the cablebahn. He was always there to help us, to tell something or to answer our questions. Scott was very nice, helpfull and intelligent. We say: book the tour with Diamond Tours and ask for Scotty!

We chose to take the train first and then the railway, but since it was quite crowded on the way back, I think it would be more enjoyable to take the railway up and the train back down to better manage your time. Easy boarding process. Wholesome breakfast and hot drinks. We saw several whales, including a mother and her playful calf and two male whales. During the tour a pleasant staff member discussed regional and whale facts through the overhead speaker. Sometimes the speaker was a bit patchy, but i understood what was being said. Clear directions on what side of the boat to load for whales. During the booking process, the company warns you several times that the waters can be rough. The boat has to travel far out of the harbor to see the whales. They recommend using seasickness medication in their notifications as well. There are several convenience stores along the pier, directly across from the boarding ramp, that sell the over the counter seasickness medications if you forget to buy some beforehand. Even during the tour, they recommend sitting in the back of the boat where the ride feels less rough if you are prone to be impacted by the waves. That and give the instructions to use the seasickness medication before departure because it doesn’t work if you are already sick. Bags are readily available if that fails. Wild animals are also unpredictable. I was happy with how many whales we saw. Further, I’m glad that the boat crew stayed a respectable distance away. We still saw plenty of tail breeches and the hump of the humpback.

Amazing!

A great way to experience the reef especially if you only have a short stay in Cairns. The boat ride out and back was almost as enjoyable as the snorkelling (loved the playlist). The crew - Joelle, Mia and Matt were super organised, friendly, fun and professional. Joelle's guided tour of the reef was amazing. She was so knowledgeable. I learnt so much about the reef, the corals and all the fish we were viewing. The crew were highly respectful of the reef and also of the safety of all their guests. They offered different levels of support to ensure everyone from first timers to experienced snorkellers had a great day. Our weather wasn't the best but it was still a great day on the reef and I will definitely head out with Reef Adventures again next time I'm in Cairns!

Definitely worth getting this tour. Having a driver is great, and there was enough time to enjoy a meal, go through the gift shop, and walk through the rainforest. We had Lachlan as our tour guide and he was so good. From the very beginning he was super friendly getting us all on the bus, and he had lots of cool stories and interesting facts to tell us. Also, he was super clear with instructions about where to go.

Once in a lifetime but be prepared if you get motion sick

A fantastic way to get out to snorkel at the Great Barrier Reed. You’re on a huge boat with other travelers and have the chance to see the coral and fish whether by snorkel or semi-submersible. A lovely lunch, Lycra suits, snorkels, find are provided. We paid extra for the advanced (longer) 1 hour snorkelling with a marine biologist. My 10 year old and i were nervous in the waves and Ellie was great in guiding us and providing that individual attention while Glen the marine biologist took the rest of our group out to see more (turtles!). Do note: if you get motion sick, get Rx medication and still be prepared to vomit, as many people did. Each way to and from the pontoon is 2 hours. Sit in the back outside if you tend to prevent motion sickness and don’t choose to do the submarine ride. The Crew were all so nice and friendly, looking after everyone. It was well organized. You can choose a helicopter back instead of the ship but it’s an extra fee. Communication before the activity was also good.

Fantastic dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour

Runs on time, easy to find and the enjoyment starts as soon as you get on board. Kim is a wonderful crew member and asset. She was funny and friendly and the buffet was delicious. There were 3 birthdays on the dinner cruise and Kim encouraged us all to wish them a happy birthday. The cruise was just the right length of time. So much to see and to take photos of along the way. We would do it again.
