An absolutely incredible...

An absolutely incredible experience!!! If you’re spending any time on the North Island, this is a must do. Hobbiton is nerd paradise for anyone who’s a fan of the LOTR franchise. The Waitomo glowworm caves were otherworldly, and we had an amazing Māori guide (Shani) who sang for us in the cave chamber. Danny was an excellent tour guide and driver. Cannot recommend the experience enough!

Breathtaking trip to see scenery

The pilot Luke was very experienced and knowledgeable throughout our flight to Milford Sound. He went above and beyond to make sure our trip was fun and enjoyable. The cruise through Milford Sound was just breathtaking, and the commentary on Pure Milford was funny and entertaining. The staff on board was also very friendly.

Truly breathtaking scenery, just the ride to Hobbiton was incredible!! Much more than I was expecting. The short bus trip to the Shire was great and our tour guide, James “007” was incredible. His enthusiasm and knowledge of information made the journey through Hobbiton so memorable. If you find yourself in New Zealand you must make the trip to Hobbiton, and ask for 007 as your guide. 🙂

Exceptional Service, Great Commentary, and Iconic Views

I am beyond impressed by the views of Milford Sound! The skipper and the staff on board made the experience extra special with their great commentary over the mic, and the crew even offered to take photos of us at all the main attractions. The wife was very happy with the trip! We would definitely come back, especially during the rainy season to see the waterfalls at full flow, and we would book with this same company again. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience

We reached a little early. We were traveling from Paihia to Rotorua and had booked this excursion in advance, and grossly miscalculated. But they were very generous with the help and adjusted us in another time slot. There were no questions about our problems, they just got into action once they got to know. The excursion was great as well. The staff at Waitomo explained the caves and it's creation and history in great details and actually helped my parents a lot who don't understand English that well.

What a fantastic experience! I thought a 12 hour round trip tour might be a bit much but the hours flew by! We had an amazing guide, Danny, who had such a great knack for story telling, sense of humor and keeping us entertained on the long and beautiful journey into the Sound. Amazing

Amazing experience. It’s unreal to be on the glacier, it looked so beautiful. We didn’t do a lot of walking, we stopped a lot and then made our way back after maybe a few hundred meters i guess. So for anyone who wants to really walk long and hike book the longer tours, that’s what I will do next time. But that’s just preference, the tour itself was perfect.

Great Experience

The glass ceiling on the bus is such a nice touch to this experience so you can see the mountains along the drive. I sometimes get car sick on long drives but Debbie was a great driver. We had a few stops along the way to Milford Sound that were super cool! And the cruise was a blast! It rained on and off so just be prepared :) I’d recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing Milford Sound.

Excellent - particularly capital and crew

Pure Milford - great way to see the sound. The capital and crew were BY FAR the friendliest, most accommodating, and knowledgeable people I've encountered on a short cruise like this. Heck, they will even take your picture without any bother. Boat was clean, free coffee drinks (cappuccino, mocha, etc).

Must-do when in...

Must-do when in Queenstown. Did this first when I visited in February with my sisters, and enjoyed it so much, I had to take my now husband on the way to our wedding. Both of us were really nervous before the first time we both went, but the drivers are absolutely amazing (I think they said they train for 18mths before they take passengers). Ngāi Tahu tourism are an extremely professional operation, and their safety record is impeccable. They are the best for a Queenstown jet boat experience - don't skimp and go for a cheaper operator - Shotover Jet have the exclusive rights to the section of river that's best for this. So much fun - you really won't regret it (and like us, will probably want to go again as soon as you get off!)

Spectacular full day event

It was a very long (full day) but worthwhile trip. The drive is spectacular and particularly so as you get closer and closer to Milford Sound. The windowed roof of the bus accentuated this. Highly recommend. If you plan to stay in Te Anau, starting the trip from there is an option and would be much shorter.

If inside seating is a priority for you, arrive at least an hour early. It’s first come first serve. Otherwise you can sit outside, the seating is warm as it’s outside of the engine room and they give you blankets as well. They also do tray service outside so you can relax and have a drink.
