Walter's Peak. Wow!

From start to finish, this was a fabulous experience! The ship, and it's history made it unique. The dinner experience, especially the grilled meats, was the best that we've had in NZ so far. The sheep farming and shearing explanation was very informative and then came Mia and her remarkable demonstration of sheep herding, which was really something to see. We highly recommend this experience when visiting Queenstown!

We loved this cruise...

We loved this cruise across the lake, and the farm was a beautiful little corner of the world to visit. The steam ship had wonderful ambience and was such a comfortable way to take the journey, with a piano in the bar upstairs and a platform below to watch the steam engine in action. The scenery along the way was perfect, and arriving at Walter Peak farm the trend continued with picturesque buildings and gardens. We did a farm tour which included lambs, goats, donkeys, alpacas, sheep and highland cattle, and then enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with plenty of tasty options and supported by highly attentive staff. The timing of the return journey was perfect and gave us a little bit of extra time to poke around by ourselves before returning to Queenstown. All in all a great day out.

A Must Do Wine Tour!

The best wine experience we have had! And I honestly think it came down to our amazing tour guide Phil and the beautiful group we had. Phil was super knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and ensured everyone was looked after and taken care of at all times. He has been the best guide I’ve ever had! The 4 wineries we went too were fantastic with our favourites being Misha & Kinross. Susie at Misha was super passionate and absolutely brilliant, and Brian at Kinross was our tasting specialist, and was incredibly knowledgeable and we all felt well taken care of, and walked away from both with so much more insight and understanding. I could not recommend this tour enough, and we walked away with 3 bottles of wine! Would 100% recommend and do again, and honestly for all ages (we are 26 & 27). Thank you again, Appellation & Phil!

Spectacular

Be prepared to have the best flight and cruise imaginable...the scenery from above and on water is spectacular. The staff are superb and fantastic. How enjoyable it is to travel with guides who are passionate about what they do makes the trip even more memorable. Thankyou to Jason in particular whom was our pilot who went above (no pun intended, lol) and beyond and gave us, what felt like a personal flight and an experience my sister and I will never ever forget. We had a wonderful experience, with exceptional service and special attention from Sinchan. He was incredibly accommodating, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. He had an answer to every question we asked and was always courteous and friendly throughout the trip. Milford Sound is absolutely breathtaking, with plenty of amazing photo opportunities. The entire cruise crew were friendly, welcoming, and professional, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A truly memorable experience and one we would highly recommend!

Quotes, facts and an absolute wholesome day.

Lord of the rings fans, this is the one... Knowledge, facts, fun and pure epic scenery. Not only did we learn new info, but it just felt so accommodating and Dan is amazing, keeps the day flowing, keeps the quotes going and surpassed all expectations. Would highly recommend. And if you want your main character moment listening to the soundtrack whilst passing the scenes of LOTR, I can tell you, you'll get it.

The Only Way to See Milford Sound

This was my fourth visit to Milford Sound and my first visit by air. Flying from Queenstown to Milford Sound was an amazing experience. The scenery during the flight was incredible , and flying through Milford Sound on approach provided a different perspective. I even commented upon landing that the cruise would be anticlimactic after the flight. It wasn’t. We were fortunate to see NZ Fur Seal feeding and a Fiordland Crested Penguin making its way from the sound to its nest. The flight back was even more spectacular, passing by Sutherland Falls, near Lake Te Anau, and over Lake Wakatipu. The best part: Avoiding the four-hour bus ride in each direction. I also need to mention how awesome Air Milford and Southern Discoveries were. Southern Discoveries did the cruise. The commentary was informative, and everyone demonstrated the Kiwi hospitality I expect in New Zealand (especially in the South Island). Air Milford is a top-notch organization; everyone was so friendly. Communication beforehand was easy, and you can tell their clients’ safety and satisfaction are their top priority. If you’re thinking about booking this experience, do it! A tip: The weather can’t be controlled, so plan to do the tour your first full day in Queenstown and be prepared to do it the next day or day after if you need to. I was fortunate that the tour was able to operate the day I booked.

Absolutely stunning day

What a fantastic experience! I got to sit in the front (one of the benefits of being a solo traveller) and she asked if I wanted to hear all the transmissions from air traffic control/other aircraft, which was really cool! The scenery was SO stunning. The flights were definitely the highlight, although the cruise was incredibly cool as well (we saw dolphins and even a penguin!!) I also appreciated how proactive the company was, reaching out a couple days before and letting me know the weather wasn’t looking good, which gave me enough time to switch around my tours, and fortunately the day I’d switched to had good flying weather!

Milford Sound - Do not miss out!!

I could not recommend this specific tour enough, but what made it even more amazing than the views and beautiful scenery was our incredible guide, Robin. She was so knowledgeable about New Zealand, its history, its culture, geography, anatomy, you name it. I’m so thankful we had her as our guide. I would recommend this over and over again to anyone visiting this beautiful country!

Fun times up on a zipline

I'm 73 and had never taken a zipline adventure before. I went with 5 friends, and we all had a blast! Saucer, Stephen and Emelie were wonderful, not only calming us all down, but showing us a wonderful, fun filled adventure. They showed us they all had a great sense of humor, while teaching us all about the area we were in on each platform. (I'm a Grade 1 teach and was impressed with their teaching skills!) One of my friends had injured her knee earlier in the day. All 3 of them made sure she was super safe, while still having fun! There was also a family of 4 with 2 young fearless girls who they catered to. We all had a delightful, very exhilarating time & a great way to end our day. I highly recommend this adventure to everyone.

After all the health and safety checks have been completed the real action began. After being geared up the plane ride to the jump takes about 15 mins which was a good ride with views of the lake and mt remarkable ranges. The jump it self takes about 5 mins till you reach the ground. I had a good instructor who made me feel calm. The free fall is so quick it finished before I could take it all in and the landing was so smooth.
