Very relaxed, not to serious on the tasting. Small enough gang to mix and chat with everyone. The tour guide, Matt was a great laugh, leading the Happy Birthday for my very embarrassed 23 year old son. Lunch was great and the views from each of the stops were amazing. Great to finish with some yummy chocolate. Spotify music selection from the guys on the bus was excellent.

Great Day Out

Lindy_S, Apr 2026
A great day out. The wineries were picturesque with personal service. Yering Farm was a little piece of Australian rural life. The wines were good. My daughter and I particularly enjoyed Four Pillars Gin Distillery as we are "gin connoisseurs" LOL. Matt was an informative and cheerful guide who engaged well with our very multicultural group. It was great that those who didn't want gin or chocolates could do wineries instead, so all needs were met. There was also a choice of lunch venues. We loved ours at Huberts - I had a wonderful prawn pasta with a pino gris. The chocolate stop at the end was fun with a wide selection of made on the premises chocolate products. We shared a 2 Scoop waffle cone icecream - salted caramel and pistachio that was enormous & delicious! All up highly recommended.

Great, laid back experience

This is a great opportunity to get out of melbourne and into the countryside. But you're a valle valley is beautiful. It was nice to try some different wines.

Incredible tour! Highly recommend!!

craigsobis, Feb 2026
Outstanding tour with great venues (wineries + distillery) providing a good variety of wines & gins to try. I would highly recommend this TeePee Tour to anyone looking for a “laid back” experience in the Yara Valley!! The tour start to finish was incredibly professional, great communication from Andrew on pick up location and details about the tour itself, and nothing but excellent customer service throughout. Our tour guide for the day, Matt, is an incredible guy who made the experience a memorable one. He shared his knowledge about the area and venues; however did not continuously natter for the sake of it. Matt also answered questions thoroughly, ensured everyone felt welcome on the tour, and accommodated late minutes requests from parties on the tour. His driving was very professional and we felt safe at all times. The wineries provided a rounded tasting experience, giving good sample sizes of each wine on the itinerary, plus a few bonus samples of additional wines available for those who had a particular interest in other available options the winery had on offer. All without being pretentious, or making people feel they had to be a wine snob to enjoy the experience. Lunch at Hubert Estate was delicious, the pizza was delicious and perfectly timed to help soak up the alcohol consumed in the morning, ready for gin tasting in the afternoon (or wine tasting instead of gin if preferred). The chocolatiers to finish allowed the tour to be more than simply “wine tasting”, but an introduction into what the Yara Valley has to offer. There is an option to only go to wine venues throughout for those who only want to sample wine; but personally the blend of wineries, a distillery and the chocolate factory did not over stimulate the taste buds or make confuse the tastings… which will allow for further purchases from the venues directly for the wines/gins we liked. Huge thank you to Andrew for all the comms and work put into the itinerary; and a bigger thank you to Matt for making the day a great one!

Top wine tour

Jeanne_B, Feb 2026
Highly recommend this tour! Our guide Matt was excellent. He kept everything fun and on track. The tour was exactly as described. We had a one hour drive to the valley, and our first winery. After that, each stop was just minutes away. Beautiful scenery and delicious wines! We especially liked that options were presented so that everyone had a great time.

on the fence

Elizabeth_R, Jan 2026
Communication was absolutely excellent. I also loved that there was a Spotify playlist that the group could contribute to. However, the wineries were not very personable. There were pours and a couple liners. However, little to no information about the history of the area, the vineyard, etc. This was the same for the gin and chocolate. I would have loved to have known where I was other than the surface level information. This is part of what being a traveler is about. The hosts at each location did not appear to want to engage or seemed to busy to engage in this conversation as well. I traveled solo and felt very alone for the ride and first vineyard. There were no introductions led by the trip leader and the people kept to their small groups. As the wine flowed people did chat a bit more. Somewhat in awe of me traveling solo which is bizarre this day and age. This odd welcome began on the sidewalk while waiting to check in as I was not acknowledged for some time and even had both leaders walk away to the vans leaving me alone on the sidewalk without saying they would be back. Being conscious of behavior is important.

Response from Host, May 2026

Hey Elizabeth! So sorry you had those experiences. As I was reading it I was trying to work out what IS in my control and what ISNT. It seem a lot of the disappointment stemmed from the wineries themselves and their staff not providing a very engaging experience. Although I cannot control what they say and who they employ, I can choose to not go there if I get enough bad reviews mentioning it. At this stage I have not, however I will use this review as a bit of a learning lesson and keep closer attention to it. It may have just been an off-day from them. Thanks for alerting me. The things however that concern and frustrate me the most as the founder, owner and often still, the tour guide, is that the tour leaders somewhat ignored you at the first check-in part. That is unacceptable and you are right: Acknowledging behaviour, particularly from solo travellers, is super important. I will word them up as thats not good enough and it's not I train them to do. Probably the worst thing to read was the fact that the tour leader gave no intros! If anything I have trained my drivers to give too long of an intro. Incredibly frustrating to hear. My intros fro example go fro about 45 minutes and I make it my mission to get everyones names, why they are here, where they are from, what they want from the day..etc....And it's something I do train my guys on..so the fact there was absolutely nothing is seriously concerning. Deeply apologise for all of that. Its not the standard I expect of my drivers. And I will action accordingly. Thanks!

A really relaxed tour, with music to match

Clive_G, Jan 2026
Out guide Matt, was very good at providing options for anyone who asked his advice on visits to other places, venues while making sure the tour we were on proceeded as planned and we had all the information to thoroughly enjoy it.

Amazing tour guide and wine

Michelle_W, Jan 2026
Andrew responds to questions quickly, and Peter (the tour guide) is informative and attentive, and has an incredible sense of how the group is feeling and adjusts accordingly. Would absolutely recommend this tour. The Yering Farm’s wine and cider are our family’s absolute favourite of the day.

Great tour & excellent service

Jessica_F, Jan 2026
Matt form TeePee was an absolute legend! The tour was exceptionally well curated, and his deep knowledge of the region and every place we visited truly elevated the experience. He went above and beyond to support everyone in the group and was always friendly, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. The collaborative Spotify playlist was such a thoughtful touch and made the journey even more memorable. Highly recommend TeePee and this to anyone wanting a truly outstanding tour experience.
