Tom was a fantastic guide! He knew a a lot toabout Williamsburg and its history. He also told us very interesting facts and how we get the sayings and expressions we use today: he really “tied one on last night, “dressed to the nines”, shave and a haircut “two bits”, and several others!

Well we both fell ill and were unable to stay for the guided tour but we were able to take in some of the sights. We will come back to Williamsburg again!

This was a really fun 90 minute walk with stops every 50 feet or so at which point the friendly and very knowledgeable guide shared interesting stories from the history of colonial Williamsburg. This particular tour was focused on Christmas traditions but had very interesting stories about the history of many of the sayings we still use today. Fun for all ages. It was a great introduction to Williamsburg and made us want to come back to learn more.

This tour had very little about Christmas in Colonisl Williamsburg and more about origins of familiar phrases.

Tom was very informative, full of idioms and history; however, the tour we signed up for was Christmas in Colonial Williamsburg. There were only two or three times that Christmas information was actually shared: one or two facts at the beginning and then at the end. Again, was very kind talked about various topics on the history of the area, but we were really looking forward to more details about the holidays.

The tour was well organized. We appreciated the phone call to confirm our tour details. While this “Christmastide” tour didn’t exactly match the description online, it was thorough and enjoyable. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided extensive details relative to living in Colonial Williamsburg. Refreshing! One of the few tours in Williamsburg that didn’t focus exclusively on slavery.

The tour was more about the history of Williamsburg in general and less about Christmas in Williamsburg.

Im sorry you felt it was more history than Christmas.Most guests as you can see loves the tour and we have guests that come every year and ask for Tom .He tells a lot of our Colonial Christmas traditions in the 18th century while weaving history throughout the tour . Sincerely, Lisa

Our guide was very informative and friendly, we learned a lot about the history of Christmas in colonial times. Very disappointed that there were NO decorations, none! It was a little deceiving with the Christmas decorations on the Viator website when we purchased the tickets.
