Excellent Experience!

My sushi and roll came out great for a first timer. I feel ready to make my own sushi when I get home. The personal instruction was so helpful, the history and common words to use was a nice extra touch. Plus, you get lunch after it's all said and done! I'm fueled up and ready to explore Shibuya.

It was great fun making sushi. The guide is helpful and always very encouraging. Bonus is that you can eat the ‘fruits’ of your labour- incredibly fresh fish and other ingredients- even if your Maki roll was not perfect.

Such a great experience. We had a great time and our instructor was very kind and we stayed talking to her afterwards. She was very personable and it’s a fun class to learn how to make sushi and the history of sushi in addition to just doing an activity together with friends or family.

Fun experience to do with the family, especially at the beginning of the trip. A bit pricey for the quantity but you are paying for the experience.

Good experience and we all learned how to make sushi and its history. Really good set up, and facilities, excellent and friendly host The 3 reflects a late start, and largely the session reading from a script and a video……we all enjoyed our time, just compared to other tours it lacked some character.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback and for joining our sushi class. We sincerely apologize for the late start and that the session felt too scripted and lacked character. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and we truly appreciate your honest comments. At the same time, we’re glad to hear that you enjoyed learning about sushi, its history, and found our setup, facilities, and host friendly. Your feedback is extremely valuable, and we will use it to make our sessions more engaging, interactive, and personal. Thank you again for your valuable feedback.

Everything was as...

Everything was as advertised so there are no surprises. The only issues I had with this experience was I'm not sure it's worth the money. Dont get me wrong, the food was great...but I could have gone to a local supermarket, bought the same ingredients, and done it at home for much less (and I have). Think all youre paying for is the ability to say you took a sushi class in JAPAN. With that said, the instructor is nice and the English was good. Also, again, the food was good and everything is as advertised. It just would be better if there was something else added to make this unique (ie a special technique to make sushi that you can not get from YouTube, or some special ingredient or fish that you can only get in Japan, or something)
