Thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed the experience of seeing Sumo wrestlers training and wrestling each other. The setting was great and well organised tour.

The main photo on your webpage showed two sumos exercising in full contact glory ! Sweating, emotionally charged and physically pushed to their limits! We did not have that. Our family traveled all the way to this country from Sydney Australia to experience sumos in action up close. I really wanted my kids to know what hard work really looks like. what we had were sumos doing push ups , stretching and everyday exercise. The most action we saw was one sumo pushing the other to the edge of the rope ring and other variations of. There was no full contact action . However, there was a bit of walking. The experience cost us close to $800 Australian for the four of us and there were more than a dozen customers that came along. Is a lot of money. It was for the lack of a better word “disappointing”. The sumos could have put in just a little more effort . My children weren’t able to appreciate the sumos artistry of full contact sports last time we came to Japan , as they were too young. We have missed the opportunity again and thats the biggest travesty, is that my kids will never experience the sumos awesome power , their grace in motion and their sheer professionalism at this point in their lives.

We did a few different tours while in Japan. This one was amazing, we were literally ringside for two hours watching these incredible athletes go through their paces. Next best thing to an actual tournament!

Amazing experience. Seeing the wrestlers up close is incredible and I never imagined how hard they train and how flexible they are. Both the guide and the master were very open and approachable. Also the wrestlers. Totally recommended

Guide was courteous and translated from Japanese to English perfectly. I would definitely recommend this morning practice.

Watching training was fascinating and well worth the early start to the day! The Sumo wrestlers were dedicated to their training but also warm and friendly and allowed photos. Would have appreciated more background on the training/sport. Background delivered on the street and quite hurried so it was difficult to follow. A quieter and cooler environment would have helped.

Really interesting trip. It was fascinating watching the sumo train and we got to see a little bit of wrestling as well. It was also really good to speak to the sumo stable owner afterwards and he was able to give us a good insight into the diet of the sumo wrestlers, where they live and how much they trained. My only criticism is that you watch the training on a floor cushion which is absolutely fine if you are young and agile but if you are slightly older and a bit stiff it was actually quite painful. There were stools at the back which I only saw later and if you are a bit older, I suggest you asked to sit in these before sitting on the floor, otherwise well worth booking.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review!
We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed watching the sumo training and had the opportunity to speak with the sumo stable owner. It’s great that you gained valuable insights into the wrestlers' diet, lifestyle, and training. We appreciate your feedback regarding the seating, and we will certainly take this into consideration to make the experience more comfortable for all our guests.

Very engaging experience being up close to a morning training session. We had quite a large group so while most people had a front row seat we had one row of people in front. The guide didn't provide too much information but we had a Q&A with the stable manager after the session and a photo with a couple of the sumo wrestlers.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Thank you for your comment. We are glad that you enjoyed it. The stable master is a nice person and we continue doing Q&A and talking time.
We will improve the explanation about Sumo.
Thank you!

An eye-opener as the experience showed how much discipline is required to do sumo wrestling well. Despite their size, the wrestlers showed agility.

This was excellent! Easy meeting point. LOVED the Sumo practice experience. It was exactly what I was hoping to see while in Tokyo. It's a very interesting sport from a cultural perspective. If you are hoping for hard core Sumo matches, this is not it. I think you see that in the tournament or perhaps specific practices. Remember, they are there truly practicing their craft and not there to entertain you! The guys were so extremely nice and getting to take a photo at the end was icing on the cake.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the sumo practice experience and found it exactly as you hoped. It’s true that the practice is on authentic training rather than entertainment, and we’re glad you appreciated this cultural insight.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future!

Would have preferred to have the actual location so I could have avoided the long walk. Also I would have liked to have had the picture with all the wrestlers. All in all a great experience!!!
