The tour was planned for 0830 hrs in the morning but one day before the transport company was recommending to leave hotel by 0600 hrs due to traffic however we left at 0800 hrs and traffic was normal.

Make sure when booking your guide can actually speak English. Ours spoke very broken English and didn’t give us any information to/from Fuji or at our stops.

Best Mt Fuji Tour - By Sunny

MATTHEW_B, Mar 2026
Our guide, Sunny, took us on the best tour through multiple areas around Mt Fuji. Lake Kawaguchi, Oishi Park, a special Pagoda and shrine, plus a delicious lunch near Oshino Hakkai; we were able to see Mt Fuji very clearly and were given top tier suggestions for food, shopping, and picture opportunities. I would recommend Sunny’s tour to anyone looking to have multiple opportunities to see Mt Fuji and to experience all the culture that traditional Japan has to offer. Book it now!

Who needs Mt Fuji when you have Mt Faizi

Lois_B, Mar 2026
Great day out thanks to our tour guide, Faizi. Although it was too cloudy to see Mt Fuji, Faizi had a contingency plan in place and we visited Chureito Pagoda and Lake Kawaguchiko (which both still looked beautiful), a traditional Japanese village, Oshino Hakkai, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine and Lava caves. It was still a great day out! It was a day that allowed us to see things we wouldn’t have visited ourselves and he answered our many questions! Thanks so much, Lois and Oli

Great day out. We were lucky the weather cleared and we got a good view of Mt Fugi. If you have something in particular you want to see/do, raise it with driver and they are good at accommodating you if they can.

Perfect Mt. Fuji Experience - 5 Star

Locha_B, Nov 2025
Absolutely amazing day tour. Beautiful clear sky made it perfect for viewing Mt. Fuji. My family of 5 all enjoyed the trip. We spent time at each location mentioned was able to capture breathtaking views. Our guide asked us to start out at 6am due to the 2 hour drive to get head of traffic. This was perfect decision and made the day flow smoothly. Also, we ate the best fruit ice cream on our trip!!! Get ice cream 100% —- “My name Mamadani” is something you may hear! Our guide was the best! —10 Stars

Lucy_W, Oct 2025
Our driver Bila Zulqar suggested an earlier pick up (6.30am) to avoid traffic. The weather was very gloomy so we did not see Mount Fuji at the first two stops. However, Bila’s friend called from 5th Step to say Fuji was visible so we drove over and had wonderful clear views. It is a shame the weather wasn’t great as I imagine the lake and gardens would be beautiful on a sunny day. I suspect that if you unlucky and don’t see Fuji the trip would be a bit of a washout. Bila was polite and friendly and his vehicle was comfortable, warm and clean.

Mt foggy not Fuji

Rex_H, Oct 2025
There needs to be a contingency plan available for when Mt Fuji isn’t visible. We were driven 4 hours to look at fog in lieu of the destination we paid to see. Our trip evolved into a visit to a fake Japanese village made for tourists and shopping, and a botanical garden in the rain. Our driver, Ali and Gwen are a very nice couple and accommodated with an outlet center so we could shop. It was a long boring ride and only a view of Mt Fuji would have made it worth the trip.

It might be wise to start early due to traffic. All in all a great experience with our very friendly driver Asad.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Day with a Truly Outstanding Guide – Sunny Made It Unforgettable!

Haider_A, Jul 2025
From the very beginning, our day trip to Mt. Fuji with Sunny was handled with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, and care. He reached out to us early in the morning via text to let us know he was just minutes away, which instantly made us feel well taken care of. True to his word, he arrived at 7:30 a.m. sharp in the hotel lobby, ready with a clean, spacious 7/8-seater vehicle that was perfect for our group. There was ample legroom and the car ride itself was very smooth and comfortable—a great start to what became a memorable journey. The drive to Mt. Fuji took about two hours, and Sunny made sure we had opportunities to stop for refreshments and restroom breaks as needed. What stood out early on was his calm and friendly demeanor. He was incredibly well-informed about Japanese history, culture, and local customs, and he shared everything in such an engaging and easy-to-understand way. His explanations made us feel connected to the places we visited rather than just being passive observers. He also had an excellent sense of humor and instantly made the group feel relaxed and entertained throughout the ride. Sunny was extremely thoughtful with the itinerary. He adjusted the schedule based on the weather conditions and our preferences. The morning was initially quite cloudy, and we were worried that we might not get to see Mt. Fuji. But Sunny kept our spirits high and assured us that weather could shift—and he was right! By late morning, the clouds began to break apart, and we got absolutely breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji. He knew exactly which scenic points would give us the best photos and timed everything perfectly to avoid crowds. Our first major stop was Oshino Hakkai, a quaint and picturesque village with crystal-clear spring ponds. Sunny explained the history and spiritual significance of the area while also giving us enough time to wander, shop, and take photos. We then proceeded to the historic Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine. The peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful architecture were truly captivating, and again, Sunny enriched the visit with his thoughtful commentary. Instead of doing the popular Hakone Pirate Ship ride, we took Sunny’s suggestion and opted for the cable car experience. It turned out to be an excellent decision! The views over Lake Kawaguchiko were panoramic and breathtaking, and once again Mt. Fuji revealed itself in all its glory. We never felt rushed—Sunny always allowed us the time to absorb the views and enjoy each location fully. For lunch, he took us to a lovely restaurant that served delicious meals at very fair prices. It wasn’t a tourist trap—just good food in a scenic setting. After lunch, we visited Oishi Park, which was full of vibrant flowers and offered fantastic photo opportunities with Fuji in the background. Sunny encouraged us to try the local blueberry ice cream—and he wasn’t wrong—it was absolutely delicious! Our final stop was the famous Arakurayama Sengen Park, home to the iconic pagoda view of Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, the weather turned again and Fuji became shy, hiding behind the clouds. The steep slope to reach the viewing point was quite a challenge, and after making it partway, some of us decided to turn back. But even without the perfect view, the atmosphere was serene and beautiful. Throughout the entire day, Sunny went far above and beyond. His attention to detail, his ability to read the group’s energy, and his flexibility in reshaping the day based on what would make it most enjoyable for us were truly impressive. His mix of professionalism, humor, and cultural insight created a perfect balance. It didn’t feel like a tour—it felt like being shown around by a local friend who genuinely cared about giving us the best experience possible. To sum it up, this was not just a sightseeing tour—it was a beautifully crafted experience from beginning to end. Every member of our group was deeply impressed, and we all agreed that Sunny’s guidance is what turned a regular tour into an unforgettable memory. If you are thinking about a Mt. Fuji day trip, do not hesitate—book with Sunny. You will be in excellent hands!

This experience was a complete disaster. The “guide” got there before time which was fine and we started our journey. He was a young man with NO experience at all in the area. When we asked him about the itinerary of the day, he asked us where we want to go; he didn’t have any suggestion as where to go or do. He took us to an ice cream parlor to take some pictures of Mount Fuji. Once we told him we are ready to continue to Hakone, he took his cellphone out of his pocket to show us a extremely graphic/ not appropriate video of an accident somewhere in the world in front of our 4 little kids (Never ever do that in front of kids) and told us that unfortunately we cannot go to Hakone as the roads where “CLoSEd” for the rest of the day. It sounded to us so doggy that we checked at our end at the official Hakone road website and all the roads were open; when we told him he realized we were not dumb and immediately had to change his attitude about the whole tour. He noticed we were far from happy with his initial attitude and he offered us to make a quick stop in a Japanese Village and then to Hakone. On our way to Hakone we asked him to please take us to an area with restaurants as the kids were hungry. He told us to take the ropeway, to go down at togendai and that there it will be a lot of restaurants. It was already 1:30pm. By the time we arrived to togendai it was already 2:10pm and all restaurants around were closed. How an experienced guide can missed that all restaurants close at 2pm. The lady from the Info kiosk at the station had to find us an open restaurant that was about 15 mins away driving to have lunch. As a guide it was a disaster, but even worst, the company that hired him and assigned to us. This is totally unacceptable to advertise a tour when we just got a driver to try to scam us. We definitively will not use Viator services anymore as they don’t do proper pre check of their service provider. This is such an a bad experience that we will make sure to let everyone we know not to use Viator services anymore.

The locations we visited...

Cathy_C, May 2025
The locations we visited were nice- but advise you to skip the ropeway. Way too much time in lins (up and down)for the view. I was disappointed in what seemsd a lack of clarity. Afi our guide asked what order. We said whatever is best to be able to view Mt Fuji while clear skies. He took us to a lake view and encouraged trying the ice cream right before lunch- so we weren’t really hungry. I didn’t feel it was clear if we stayed at the lake we couldn’t do two of the stops we most wanted. He had offered to extend the time for a few- which just felt like a sales pitch. Also did not use hotel address to pick up- but kept insisting on dropping a pin- which from my room directed somehow to a place 10 min walk away. And he would not move to come get us or count that time towards our trip. Overall- we had a nice day but not the tour I had hoped for.

100% recommended

Was very nice, best photographer ever Afir, he was looking after me and my partner really good plan to know Mount Fuji and Hanoka nice places as well

Listen to your driver and you'll have a great time!

Afo_A, Apr 2025
We had a great day. Ali checked in with us the night before the trip, text via WhatsApp. Per his suggestion we started at 6:30 instead of the listed start time. 10/10 recommend Ali and listening to your driver if they suggest you start early. First we stopped at Ohshino Hakkai, and beat the other tourist. Ali gave us bits of history at each of our stops, and communicated very clearly about what times we should meet back at the van. Our stops in total included Ohshino Hakkai,Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine, Lake Kawaguchiko (do the speed boat), Oishi Park, Saiko Lake, Saiko Itashi no Sato Nenba, and the Bat Caves. Thanks for a great day, Ali.

Very Very Very Disappointing

IMRAN_H, Apr 2025
Very Very Very Very Disappointing It was Pakistani driver Malik, he 1st tried upon us to start journey early at 6-6.30am with a excuse of heavy traffic during peak hours, whereas we had booked for 9am and as per me Japan is 99% never loaded on roads for so called traffic. We got convinced for 8 and started at 8.30 (faced no traffic at all). He then tried to cut down 5th station mount fuji (v v imp attraction) insisting that it must be closed due to road and weather condition etc but we enquired with Japan tourism and headed, it was well open and all worth. We offered and paid for his lunch ( Paying for lunch is no big deal but the point is this act also dint develop any good feelings to him for us, he was heartless and lacked hospitality ) and we were all soft spoken until end even after his this attitude and still that dint work. He denied going to 2 places of total 6 as it was 3.30pm and he wanted to close dot at 6pm dropping us back to our hotel completing 10 hrs tour. As a part of hospitality I would appreciate if he invested 30 mns–1hr extra and we could complete the rest 2 places too).

Perfect private tour from Tokyo

KinChung_W, Apr 2025
A great day out from our base in Tokyo. Ideal for those in need of a private tour with only a few days in this part of the country for this once in a lifetime experience. We had 5 nice stops with photo opportunities which obviously included the hike up the hill for the amazing view with the pagoda. Our driver Malik was excellent and we followed his suggestions as we hadn't done a huge amount of research but this is a tailor made tour if you want it. Highly recommended 👍

Be careful with private tour offers!!

Tarik_B, Apr 2025
Car was in very bad conditions, at least 10 years old. Chauffeur was driving very slowly at an average speed of 50 kph on a highway!!! All cars, busses and trucks were overtaking us and we felt unsecured! We did not go to the 5th station, we could not go to the pagoda because of weather and parking availability issues. This should be specified ahead in the offer!!! The overall experience was not good at all.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Dear customer we provided you a comfortable van but you said you wanted to have a luxury experience that we didn’t promise in this price. You booked a very regular offer even one sided taxi fare to Mount fuji is more than it. We cannot predict the weather and we cannot predict if the parking is full or not so how could we mention it before. As because of land sliding 5th station was closed how could we take you there. Our drivers are professional and they drive safely if it’s 50km/hr then you could never visit Mount Fuji. We tried our best to make you feel comfortable and happy.

Last-minute change with mixed results

Jake_G, Apr 2025
This is a tough review to write. Less than 12 hours before our tour, the company let us know our driver was sick. They offered us a refund, the option to reschedule, or a replacement driver with less experience. Since this was our only chance to see Mount Fuji, we went with the replacement. It turned out he wasn’t actually with the company—just a friend stepping in to help. He was kind and genuinely tried his best, but there were some challenges with both driving and communication. That said, I do appreciate that the company gave us options and that the driver made an effort.

Great day at Mount Fuji

We had an amazing time visiting sites around Mt Fuji with Bajwa. He was very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend!

Fantastic

Our guide Prem Zeerel was prompt and on time. He got us to our destinations with no interruptions and stopped at our request so we could get some breakfast. He was great. The views were amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent

Maribeth_R, Mar 2025
It was a great experience with our driver/tour guide Afi. He was very informative and well experienced on the places to visit. I highly recommend him. I would pick him again for our next trip to Japan.

Nice way to see Mt. Fuji on your own terms.

Samish_B, Feb 2025
This was a nice trip. Everything is well planned out. You can also make some adjustments if needed. Our driver Hassan did a nice job of keeping us on track, explaining the sites and accomodating a couple of requests we had.

A wonderful and memorable day

Afo_A, Oct 2024
This tour is the best & only way to see Mount Fuji & the surrounding areas! Haseeb, our guide, was excellent. Before the tour, he introduced himself via WhatsApp & suggested we leave a little earlier than 8am to avoid traffic & busy stops. He picked us up promptly at our hotel (clean & comfortable car), even sending pictures of his car & location so we knew exactly where to go. At each stop along the way, Haseeb explained what we would be seeing, how much time we had to explore, & volunteered to take pictures of our group. Sunny knew exactly where to go to get the best photos. While we were in Oshino Hakkai, he helped translate with the shopkeepers & suggested items to try (get the grilled Japanese mochi filled w/bean paste...delicious)! H graciously took us to the Fuji Five Lakes caves- we chose to explore Wind Cave, the easiest option), & even surprised us with coffee when we stopped at a rest area on our return to Tokyo. Arigato Haseeb for showing us Fuji & its magical surroundings!

Response from Host, Nov 2024

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad to hear that you had a great time and that the driver was able to make your journey enjoyable with his knowledge and insights. It’s wonderful to know that you were pleased with the tour, and we hope to have the pleasure of serving you again soon!

Punctuality, Flexibility and Adaptability

Myriam_B, Oct 2025
If you dream of seeing Mount Fuji, even if the weather is gloomy, this tour is for you. With your consent, the driver adapts the itinerary to maximize the chances of seeing it. The pre-established program is flexible according to your desires or your health condition. Perfect command of English. Pick-up Service at the hotel is a very appreciable time saver as the departure is early to avoid traffic (06:30). The day before the excursion, your driver contacts via WhatsApp to set the latest arrangements. This formula is perfect for a family and is very reassuring. I recommend 100%.
