The concept, history and technique were all explained through words and videos, and the teachers guided us closely enough that we didn't make mistakes while still doing all the work ourselves, which was ideal. The gentleman guiding us was very kind and friendly. Now we have wonderful souvenirs to keep a wonderful memory alive. Been wanting to try kintsugi for a very long time and I'm glad I did it here.

It was a great class to experience and understand the beautiful art of Kintsugi! The artist was very kind and the other teachers were also. It was wonderful- we loved it so much, they let us buy other pieces to give to friends!

Master Taku was AMAZING. This kintsugi workshop became one of the most meaningful experiences of our entire trip to Tokyo. My daughter and I loved every part of it. We learned the history and philosophy behind the art, and then restored our own pieces using pure gold lacquer with his patient and thoughtful guidance.
The class was small, so we received plenty of personal attention. The whole experience felt calm, creative, and very welcoming. It was the perfect break from sightseeing and it gave us a chance to slow down and focus on something beautiful. We enjoyed it so much that we talked about returning the next day, and now we want to order supplies so we can continue practicing at home.
If you want an authentic hands-on activity that feels special and memorable, this workshop is truly a must-do in Tokyo.

We took the authentic kintsugi workshop and had Junko assist us in repairing our plates. It was very easy to understand and was taught at a good pace. Highly recommend to anyone looking to try this art.

It was a bit a hard to find, but I had a lot of fun learning the craft from an artist.
They offer you multiple choices for the starting piece, and help you along the way.

Incredible opportunity to dive deep into this delightful art form and Japanese life philosophy with a master in the craft. So grateful to Taku Nakano for his patience and sharing his expertise in kintsugi which allowed me to learn and create at n accelerated pace, making a one-of-a-kind piece that I will always treasure. So grateful for this class which is the perfect encapsulation of my time in Japan. An experience I will never forget and continue to experiment with back home in honor of objects and their history.

Though we got list and arrived 15 minutes late, Master Taku was gracious and welcoming. My friend was perspiring profusely and he picked up a laminated card and fanned her to cool down!
He’s a wonderfully calm and encouraging teacher, who knows his craft well. Lived the session! My first time and am anxious to start at home!
