Sam was great and very knowledgeable about the area! I just moved to the area recently and my parents were in town so it was great to have a knowledgeable guide that knew the area well!

Interesting and informative tour of downtown Taos. Our guide,
Sam was knowledgeable and had interesting insights along the way.

Sam is not the best tour guide. He tells mainly anecdotal infirmation, plugs certain businesses on the square, is easily distracted, loses track of people on the tour when crossing streets (and we were only four altogether) starts the tour before businesses open and says, "They'll be here after lunch." His voice is very low and he doesn't speak up when there is noise nearby. His aidiovisual aids are mostly his own drawings, which he plugs on the tour as well. My least favorite Vistor experience to date. I did better walking around myself afterwards and talking to shop owners and artists. Taos is the bomb. This tour was overpriced and underwhelming.

Very informative walking tour around the plaza. Sam was our guide and he was quite interesting, telling us of points of interest and introducing us to several of the gallery owners

Guide laid back, but knew his information. None of the places visited actually charged an admission fee. Most galleries, museums, houses were talked about from the street.

The guide was a no-show and we recieved no notification that it was cancelled. In fact, I recieved reminders about tour.

The small portion with history stories. Sam knows a lot of the shopkeepers/artists, and showed us those stores.

We had a very interesting walking tour of Taos. Our guide, Sam, toured us through Taos with interesting stories about the colorful characters that shaped the town's history. We especially enjoyed the artistic journey through 3 generations of artists. We were able to enjoy the rest of our day trying out many of Sam's recommendations. It was a great value and it exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend this tour as a great way to introduce you to this amazing town.

Enjoyed Sam’s stories, personality and humor. Also, he took an interest in our group members. Only suggestion for improvement would be to speak a little louder. Sometimes traffic noise drowned out his voice. Overall, very enjoyable.

Sam did a fantastic job on our tour. He took us into several galleries giving us info on the owner/artist before we entered. The artists provided background and details about their work. Sam was entertaining and so knowledgeable about Taos history. He gave us a challenge to see a few movies involving Taos scenes and the actors involved in the movies. Also a written list of books about Taos that we could read to learn more. Sam was indeed a tour guide extraordinaire! This tour is worth every penny and more. I encourage everyone who will visit Taos to book this tour!

Memorable experience with a knowledgeable guide. We heard stories from both the past and present. And what a colorful place Taos was—and is! Sam brought photos and drawings (his own, as he is an artist) to illustrate what he told us. He also gave us suggestions of restaurants and shops. He seems to know everybody in town!

Sam was fantastic! A delightful personality with wonderful information about Taos history and the plaza. He is also a celebrity. Everyone knew him! This "group tour" was wonderful. We appreciated all of the photos and illustrations that made Taos come to life. Thanks!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. My husband is a retired history teacher and was impressed. The tour was amazing except the town square...which is not the tour company's issue, but something needs to be done about fixing it up. I would recommend the tour highly.

Our tour guide Sam was a wealth of knowledge. He seems to know everyone in the community and so many interesting little stories from the past and present. His drawings gave us a look into the subject and kept things on course. He was excellent!
Catherine_P, Sep 2022
We payed for a private tour. 10-12 others were present, we could not hear the voice of the tour guide.
Jacqueline_P, Jul 2022
Sam was a great tour guide!! His knowledge of Taos and its history is without compare, His many stories gave context to the places we were visiting so that we could go back again at our leisure and really understand what we were seeing.
