What To Expect

Make your own way to a secluded location near West Entrance Station in Joshua Tree to begin your stargazing tour. Note: the exact location is provided 24 hours prior to your tour.

Join your guide and small group for a drive to the secret location, which has been carefully selected based on viewing conditions.

The tour utilizes cutting-edge technology, including advanced GEN3 Military Night Vision Binoculars, laser pointers, and binoculars, to explore the celestial wonders. See a sky reminiscent of ancient times and easily witness thousands of stars invisible to the naked eye.

Pair this with the Native American concept of "two-eyed seein," etuaptmumk, to honor how the ancestors understood the universe. Use modern eyes to connect with ancient wisdom and hear the legends that surround the cosmos.

The tour concludes back at the meeting point.

Striking stars and folk tales

Breathtaking views of the stars presented from a native peoples perspective. They were very well equipped for the cold and allowed us to use very cool viewing equipment. The presenter did have a tendency to ramble and the experience lasted about a half an hour longer than we expected, but overall worth doing!

We truly had a great time! Molly was extremely helpful in getting us the info needed to find our meeting location and Tony was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained. The ambiance he created was super nice & he definitely opened our eyes and mind to seeing the stars in an very enlightened way! Very memorable with extra special unexpected touches to our visit!

Tony is a great host for the event - his stories are interesting and thought-provoking. Seeing the night sky through the night vision goggles is amazing. Dress warmly - the desert is really chilly, especially if windy!

This was an epic experience. Tony's enthusiasm and awe were infectious, as he told stories encoded in the sky by the Maori, Apaches, and others while pointing our their inspiration in the heavens above. The night vision goggles extended our sight, both above the horizon and of the desert around us. The night sky is lost to so many of us now; this was a can't-miss opportunity to see stars and planets the way our ancestors did. Pro tip - bundle up!

Tony was an amazing guide for this experience. At first I was hesitant due to the price for 1.5 hrs but it was MORE than worth it! We learned so much and saw so many beautiful things! It was an intimate experience with only 4 people in our group. Tony was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. It was an amazing night and definitely more than we had expected! 10/10!!

Our host was incredibly knowledgeable about how various cultures understood stars and how they informed them about the world. Tony had a variety of gadgets including night vision goggles and augmented reality headsets that brought the sky to life. He also offered us snacks and provided reclining chairs so we could lay back and see the sky. Wonderful experience overall.
