Jason was a great driver and tour guide for a group of 4 couples total. He was informative and entertaining. He was on time to pick us up directly at our hotel in Sonoma. We enjoyed visiting 3 boutique-style wineries, as well as the charcuterie tray provided during the tasting at the 2nd winery visit. We likely would not have chosen these wineries on our own so I am glad we were able to experience them. We were able to enjoy our time at each winery and there was no pressure to purchase any bottles.

The tour was wonderful and we enjoyed going to 3 smaller wineries which were each charming in different ways. I also love organization and I like that the tour guide sent an initial text with all the information and schedule for the day. But in addition to being well planned, I liked that when we found out our hotel offered free tastings at a few vineyards, the guide was flexible and shifted our end drop off point after our 3 stops with them to one of those vineyards for us to continue the fun day.

Your snack tip is a good one, and we also include a charcuterie lunch for each guest to help keep everyone fueled through the day. We do need to be mindful of our winery partners, though, as most don’t allow outside food so they can keep the focus on their wine experience.

This is a great tasting tour, with most of the time spent tasting wines and not walking around hot vineyards or examining casks. One little thing i would let travelers know before booking, the tasting fees, not included in the tour price, can be hefty. If you buy a bottle of wine per person, the fees are waived, and at least you’ll take something home with you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of your experience. We partner with wonderful wineries and they all have extremely reasonable tasting fees. We are very upfront with our guests and every description of our tours states that the tasting fees are not included in the cost of the tour. While many wineries in the area charge $50 on up to well over $100 per person, the tastings our guests experience range from $20.00/pp to $35.00/pp. Each winery we visit will also have an option to have the fees waived with either a minimum purchase (some wineries are a single bottle, others may be a two bottle purchase to waive one fee) or by joining the wineries wine club will typically waive the fee for your group up to 4 people. We keep our tour prices low by not including the tasting fees and giving our guests the option to have the fees waived with purchases if they are inclined to make purchases. Cheers!

Just as a start, we were not red lovers prior to this tour. Jason covered all the bases! Sonoma Wine Tours was a convenient way to tour multiple vineyards both safely and in a timely fashion. The three vineyards that Jason chose for us were all top tier in their own ways. The passion and knowledge of each pourer made the day that much more interesting as we could deepen our own knowledge of wine while lengthening our pallets as well. Jason’s own well of info about other vineyards along the way was refreshing. Thank you for an outstanding tour and for our new appreciation for red wine.

The experience was a lot of fun. The vineyards were a good variety. Bring water! 2 of the 3 vineyards offered no water at the tastings. We were parched all day! That might have been a nice adder in the van. One other small critique...I would suggest the host try and introduce the members of the party. Yes, I can do this myself, but it's a little less awkward for those of us that are on the shy side. I didn't learn a single person's name the whole day...but I could tell you where most of them were from, lol.

It was so nice having you join us and picking you up from our meeting spot on the town square in Sonoma is a perfect location to get picked up. You can either get breakfast and coffee before the tour or make reservations at one of the fabulous tasting rooms on the square in Sonoma after your experience with Sonoma Wine Rides.... or you can do both. I apologize if you felt like you needed additional water. We do have water on the bus..... as the days get cooler I may not have mentioned it as much as I do on the hot days. The wineries typically do an amazing job of keeping our guests hydrated I have not been offering as much, but I will make sure we offer and make sure our guests have access to the water. Thank you so much for joining us and I look forward to you joining us again on a future visit.

The amazing thing is we all have different preferences and going on a wine tasting tour like this will not only clarify what you do like, and reaffirm what you may not like and now you know what not to buy. On our tour yesterday we went to the same wineries and each one was a different guests favorite....... you just never know. I am glad you found me knowledgeable and saddened to see you would not recommend this tour to others. Our tours offer a safe way to enjoy wine country without having to get behind the wheel of a vehicle and we should all be encouraging everyone to be safe. All the best to you.

Our driver Jason was awesome. We went to three different small family run wineries which I was thrilled about. Each experience was unique. Loved the wine cave. The people at the wineries were informative and the group we were with was great. I recommend this.

The views at the last winery, Merriam Winery were incredible! We loved the greeting with a glass of wine and a pet of their own mascot doggie. In addition the owner, Jason, was very friendly and gave us great information while we drove to the wineries. Our group consisted of 2 couples and we had three other couples on the tour who were lovely! We had an excellent time!

Merriam Winery has truly become one of the favorite stops of the day..... I feel they stack the deck with their amazing hospitality, the wonderful wine and of course the winery dogs. Merriam has become a staple on our northern Sonoma County itinerary. There are many variables that go into which wineries we select for our tours and unfortunately we can not guarantee which wineries will be on any give tour. We are so happy you had an excellent time and the entire group bonded so quickly. We love what we do, we enjoy showcasing Sonoma wine, taking our guests to wineries they may not find on their own. We enjoyed the whole experience, Jason was our tour operator and he did a great job. We loved our wineries, especially the last one of the day, DRNK, where we got to go into the wine cave and learn about the wine region.
