It Wasn't a Cruise

This was advertised as a cruise to watch the fireworks on New Year's Eve. While we did board a boat, and we did see fireworks, it wasn't a cruise. We stayed in the same spot for the first 75 minutes of the 90 minute event. With 15 minutes to go, we took a little spin in the boat. It was a major letdown and should not be advertised as a cruise.

Thank you for the feedback Korie_T! We’re delighted that you got to see the fireworks from the bay but otherwise sad to hear the tour did not meet your expectations. We did promise a spectacle cruise into the Faxaflói Bay, intending to get the best view of the fireworks display over the city, which happens to be not very far from the harbor leading to less sailing and more floating and, perhaps, less deserving of being called a cruise but alas, we were lost for words. We will endeavor to be clearer in the future.

Amazing Fireworks

The boat travelled a very shirt distance out and then was stationary, and the commentary by the attendant was hard to hear as his WiFi connection kept breaking. But the fireworks themselves were spectacular and we were given real champagne so it was overall not bad.

It’s a short distance to sail for the best location to witness the infamous NYE fireworks in Reykjavík from the harbor. The WIFI issue had not been noted before, we will look into it – thank you for bringing it to our attention.

i was disappointed that the boat was so small. It was packed to capacity, and we really should have been given a larger boat. In addition, the bar that we were told was available on the boat, was really pitiful
