It was so cold out for June (with bad windchill). The spas has a sauna, 2 steam rooms and a swim-up bar. All accessible from blue lagoon water. I would spring for the premium for the extra face masks. We stayed for about 2.5 hour and I could have stayed much longer. 10/10 would recommend - left feeling so relaxed and ready to take on the world.

Due to local regulations, certain hotels/guesthouses/apartments do not allow for lobby pick-up. Guests will have to go to the nearest bus stop for their pick-up. For Reykjavik pick-ups from the hotel or nearest bus stop, you will be picked up with a minibus and transferred to the Bus Terminal to join a coach bus that will take you to the Lagoon. You will be dropped off at Blue Lagoon. The same procedure is applied for the return to Reykjavik. For the Hotels and accommodations located in Keflavik Town, the shuttle bus pick-up is handled from the Keflavik Airport. If a direct hotel pick-up is needed, a private transfer is required. Shuttle Schedule: Keflavík Airport – Blue Lagoon Keflavík Airport to Blue Lagoon Departures: 07:30 | 09:30 | 12:30 | 16:30 Blue Lagoon to Keflavík Airport Departures: 12:00 | 14:30 | 16:00; Shuttle transfers are shared services, meaning you’ll travel with other passengers; it is not a private or small group transfer option.

What To Expect

Visiting Iceland's Blue Lagoon is a must for travelers seeking relaxation and natural beauty—this world-famous geothermal spa offers milky-blue mineral-rich waters known for their soothing and rejuvenating properties.

With this package, enjoy optional transfers from your hotel or cruise port in Reykjavik (or the airport). On the way there, dramatic lava fields quite literally pave the way for a scenic journey.

Once there, choose between Premium or Comfort entrance— a towel, drink, face mask and other perks provided with Premium entry. Take your time enjoying this tranquil escape, with temperatures averaging a perfect 98–102°F (37–39°C). Guests can also indulge in the spa's steam rooms and saunas, or sip refreshments from the swim-up bar.

If opted for transfers, when you're ready, your driver will be waiting for the return ride to your Reykjavik destination.

Not bad but beware of mulyiple bus transfers

We've been to the blue lagoon before and that was great, just as it was last time, although we were a group of 11 but still had to wait a bit for help even though there was a specific line for groups of 10 or more. As for the transportation it wasn't bad but no where in the booking did it say you had to transfer multiple buses to get to and from the location. It was doable but I wouldn't have booked it if I knew that, especially since we had kids with us and were a larger party so ensuring that we could all fit on the same bus for each transfer was a tad stressful.

Visiting the Blue Lagoon was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. From the moment you arrive, everything feels calm, well organised, and beautifully done. The setting itself is breathtaking — warm, milky-blue water surrounded by dramatic lava fields, with steam rising all around you. It feels otherworldly. The facilities are excellent: spotless changing areas, clear guidance throughout, and staff who are friendly, professional, and welcoming. Soaking in the lagoon is pure relaxation, even in cold weather. The water temperature is perfect, the silica mud masks are a lovely touch, and having a drink in the water just adds to the experience. Everything feels unhurried and indulgent, without ever being chaotic or overcrowded. This is one of those places that truly lives up to the hype. Peaceful, restorative, and incredibly memorable — if you’re visiting Iceland, the Blue Lagoon is absolutely worth it.

Highly recommend taking your own water shoes and getting the premium ticket. Go early and leave early to avoid the crowds. The buses back to the city start leaving around 1pm be at the pick up location with 10 to 14 before departure. The facility has shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and hairdryer. I decorating your own face moisturiser and other necessary toiletries. The food there is very expensive so be prepared to pay more for basic food items. If you can I would recommend eating somewhere else if you are traveling on a budget. You are not allowed to be in the lagoon area without a bathing suit.

Wonderful experience at the Blue Lagoon! Make sure you put conditioner in your hair prior to entering the Lagoon and remove all jewelry. Limited private changing rooms, otherwise you are changing clothes with strangers. The staff is fantastic! The whole experience is awesome!

One word “FANTASTIC”. The staff at the Blue Lagoon were extremely helpful and friendly. The whole place was clean with everything you could want/need. Lovely shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided with lovely warm showers and comfy towels. We went for the premium package and the robes provided were great. There was a great choice of drinks (apple cider was lovely). The mud masks provided made our skin feel amazing afterwards. Thank you for a great day 😊

Private Taxi pickup was not great. “hotel” pickup involved walking to a bus stop and getting two busses to the Blue Lagoon.. Easier to book a taxi and probably less cost..

Overall from the transfer to the Blue Lagoon to the transfer home it was good. Only thing I would say is that the timing for transfer, event start time, and email are all different times and it is really confusing(especially with the 90 minutes before transfer? Or start? Just state a time)Put the time of transfer pickup time on the ticket as well as the email. Save a bit of confusion. I had to rebook twice because it wasn’t very clear. However customer service was great and efficient getting it fixed.

This experience was fabulous and I can not fault the Blue Lagoon, it was simply amazing although busy as you can imagine! I wish we had booked direct as it seems like we paid a lot more for booking with transfer, a group of 6 (4 of which were children) £150 extra to include the bus! It doesn’t tell you exactly what you are paying for online just the price per person, however at the lagoon it was clarified that under 12’s are actually free but don’t get a drink included. I feel like this was misleading when booking as I thought I had paid for everybody to include a drink, it was not in any of the booking details etc so perhaps better wording for each age group would be good.

Expensive But Worth It

There are two parts to this tour experience: what from when you enter the facility until you leave, and what happens when you are traveling to and from the facility. The experience inside is wonderful. The lagoon itself is expansive, so even when there are a lot of visitors you can have a generous amount of personal space. The waters are just the right temperature. The locker room facilities are well managed and comfortable. The lockers themselves are secure. Traveling to and from the facility, however, can be challenging, as a recent lava flow has required two changes of buses each way and a long, cold walk of nearly a mile from the dropoff to the door. This is a very expensive tour and so should be viewed as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. (This was our second visit but we made a second trip because we did not have our family with us the first time and we did the second time).

This was lovely! Pickup and transfer were smooth and well managed. Blue Lagoon entry is a bit chaotic with all the people from several busses but we all got through. The Blue Lagoon itself was well worth any hassle! So warm and relaxing! A very pleasant interlude in our busy days here in Iceland.

Viator needs to partner better with Marina Travel for a good customer experience

I am glad that we visited this iconic part of Iceland. However, I believe that Viator and Marina Travel need to work together to make this a good customer experience. First, it was not possible to get the vouchers via the Viator app. Instead, they were emailed --- three different documents that needed to be printed out or shown on your phone's email (keeping in mind that they could not be added to the wallet app on your phone). Second, two of the documents were relevant to the bus transportation. It specifically stated on the documents that we were to look for a bus that said "Smart Bus" on the outside. We were directed to Bus Stop 6, where about 60 people were waiting to board buses and numerous buses with all different markings appeared. It was somewhat chaotic, and then, to add to it, a "Gray Line" bus appeared, and it turned out to be the one we were expected to board! We so easily could have missed it, and it is not exactly great customer service to have to guess which bus is the one to which we are assigned. These excursions are not cheap, and communication is essential. We do not believe that these practices create a good customer experience.

Horrible waste of money

Start with pick up. Viator asked me when I was booking that if I want to be picked up at the hotel and that is possible. Of course I said yes pick up at the hotel and that’s it. I waited in the hotel lobby and no one came to pick up, Ii Che j my email and found the phone number of the local operator to whom Viator sold my booking and called him. He was so nice and told me I missed my picked up at bus 5. I explained what I was told and he apologized and booked me for 8:30, the bus came and said I’m not on the list and then the bus left. I called the local operator again and he apologized and booked me for 9:30. Thus time I asked him to tell me what bus exactly will pick me up . He can’t tell me because he is also contracting with the bus company 🥹. But he called me to see if I was picked up and the 7:30 became 9;30. I blamed Viator for the mixed up. It was a waste of money, . I will never recommend to book Blue lagoon with Viator!!!

The Blue Lagoon is definitely a must! I was there with my mum and the facilities where accessible and staff helpful. Marina Travel was great and helful to help me organize the pick up and the entry to the lagoon, and even look at alternatives in case the eruption, which happen the day before I was due to go, meant the lagoon would stay close. I cannot recommend them more highly!
