Firstly I’d just like to say how brilliant our tour guide was (Isabella) she was incredible, so informative whilst we travelled, we learnt a lot from her! There is a lot of travelling involved but it is so worth it, we were very lucky as we got to see amazing views! It’s a once in a lifetime experience so I would definitely recommend. We couldn’t fault anything, so worth the money too, we would definitely do it again.

Snowmobiling on a glacier - great fun! A good safety briefing and plenty of support from guides whilst on the glacier made for a good fun time. although the small group of 15 we had joined was merged with another similar group on arrival at the base camp this was all part of the adventure and did not impact on the general feeling. The ride out up the glacier was interesting, getting used to the snowmobile, followed by a break at the most distant point to take photos and play in the snow, which was amazing! The transport was also amazing - a jacked up 4-wheel drive Mercedes Sprinter minibus with mahoosive wheels and tyres, which was brilliant in the snow on the glacier.
Unfortunately there were a few things that spoilt the day. The one that the tour operator had no control over was the weather - there was low cloud and heavy snow for the whole journey on the glacier meaning the promised stunning scenery was not visible. This was one of the risks you take with this type of activity, so no big deal, just something to be aware of when you book.
More concerning was the lack of input from the tour operator. There was no contact from the tour operator before the activity, the only information coming from Viator. The "guide" with the minibus did very little actual guiding. We were welcomed aboard, pointed in the direction of the toilets and snacks at the very expensive comfort stop at Geysir and given instructions on what gear was needed when we were getting our safety gear prior to getting on the glacier. Given a 2.5 hour drive each way from Reykjavik to the site, I would have expected some more input, such as information about the areas we were driving through, glaciers, what they were, how they develop and are shrinking etc. There was none of this, which was very disappointing.
To be fair to the guide, his driving skills were fantastic, particularly on the drive back in extremely testing conditions, battling strong winds and heavy snow, which had blown a couple of other tour buses off the road. He did get us back safely to our hotel.
In summary - a good fun experience, but missing some of the things I thought/expected we were going to get for the money

Great day from pick up to drop off. Driver of mini bus was like a tour guide. The experience on the glacier will not be forgotten. Snowmobile guides were great. Definitely recommend!!!

Wonderful, exhilarating, magnificent! I don't have enough words to describe the emotions I had whilst snowmobiling and admiring the snow-covered scenery around me. The white of the snow met with the white of the clouds on the horizon! The softness the of the snow, the crispness of the air! Just incredible!

Due to weather conditions we was unable to do the snowmobiling however no fault of the tour operator the tour guide was very apologetic and very helpful he stopped for drinks and toilet and gave us good information Also we got soup and roll whilst delayed

It was a beautiful day !!! Very cold but we were equipped with very good gear. Out tour driver James was magnificent!! Thanks James!! I only have to say that the personal at the equipment weee kind of rude and did not like the workers mobiling around us super fast and bringing some ice into us inexperienced drivers I think that was not very safe, specially when many just touch a snowmobile for first time, did not appreciate that! They need to be more kind and understanding. At time I did not feel safe but it was beautiful and certainly an experience to do!

Snowmobiling was such an amazing experience. It was a little rocky at first with not knowing where the ‘super jeep’ was so we were delayed by an hour, but they accommodated by giving us free lunch while we waited. Very well done! The snowmobiling was great; very snowy so it was hard to see! But, your guide was awesome so made it worth it.
Leigh_S, Dec 2025
Super fun, but very limited in what you can do. Unfortunately we got behind quite a few people who would only go slow, so it was not as fun as it could have been.

Was fun ! Something different very exciting experience! People were very nice specially the lady that explained how to use the snowmobiling she was vary patience and nice

The route of our tour literally goes right by the town our hotel is, we drove passed it. I was asked drive all the way to Reykjavík to meet the shuttle that could have picked us up.
Very poor coordination, no communication. If it wasn’t for the customer support rep, I would not have heard anything from the tour operators.

I booked this trip on the day of my boyfriend’s birthday. The experience its self was amazing, the staff were very friendly and super glad I booked. However transport wise was a disaster. After being told to be at the bus stop for pick up at 9:15 but the experience starts at 10 we got to the bus stop only for the bus to not turn up till 10:20. We were stood still and freezing for over an hour. I had to then contact viator for them to then contact the tour company, only to be told at 10:00 am when it was supposed to start that the company are having operational issues and he was going to be another 20 minutes. Which is fine but I feel like if they were having issues that could’ve been communicated to us. It’s all about communication. I had to contact them, even though there is a messaging service on this app, to which none of them replied to my message. We were so stressed that we were not going to be able to go on this trip we had paid a lot of money for. The driver then explained when he arrived that the original bus he had broke so he had to swap to a new one. Done our experience and it was amazing. Then on the way back over an hour away from drop off, our bus breaks down , luckily the driver was able to drive us slowly to a petrol station near by. We were told another bus was coming to pick us up with an hour wait! Half an hour later, another bus comes However only with 5 seats, and there was 8 of us. My boyfriend and I and another couple had to stay behind whilst the other half got on the first bus. We waited for over an hour at a petrol station which was supposed to be a special day for my boyfriends birthday. Our tour guide was really lovely and stayed with us and tried to keep us updated as much as he could. But was so gutted , we had dinner reservations for my boyfriends birthday which we missed.

Arctic Adventures were experts at making our snowmobiling on a glacier excursion the best it could be given the weather. We drove on the actual ice and not on snow, which melted off from rain. It was thrilling for me to ride solo and navigate the snowmobile! We had to ride slower than probably would have been due to the icy conditions. Our tour guide Isabella was with us from pickup near our hotel in Reykjavik, to getting us to base camp, getting us outfitted with all the necessary gear, riding with us and then driving all the way back to Reykjavík. She was very knowledgeable about the equipment and handled the vehicles in foggy and rainy weather with expertise. My son and I had a lot of fun! We were well aware that it would be a long drive to the glacier for an hour of snowmobiling but it was worth it. Bucket list item checked off!

Amazing experience from start to finish. Bjorn was our host and he arrived on time for pick up at my hotel. The snowmobiling was so much fun and well organised. Bjorn was very funny and a great host!

The experience was amazing. The glacier is a must see. The guides were attentive making sure that we were safe. This is fierce nature at it's finest. Glad we were able to do, was well worth the money. The kick ass ride they picked us up in was pry cool as well. Definitely recommend. Very friendly.

If you get the chance to do this tour, don’t hesitate! One of a kind experience, very recommendable if you have one day in Reikiavik. It was very organized and on time which helped since we came on a cruise and had a boarding time. Our guide John was amazing, very nice and a great driver as well!

It was Journey to get to the snowmobiles, but once there, it was a lot of fun. Harder then I thought it would be to maneuver , but it was still a lot of fun
Asha_S, Jun 2025
This was the most fun activity I’ve done in my life in the snow, the tour guard/ bus driver was the best! So friendly and the restaurant we stopped at to have food was 10/10!

Excellent guide and an amazing experience. Beginners need not worry as the guide is so friendly and helpful. We forgot to get the goggles and had hiccups initially but the guide was no helpful to share his own goggles. The guide took us to an ice cream place and to a place where we can buy lunch and both were excellent. Chocolate ice cream was excellent and fish & chips and all kind of pizzas were delicious at the lunch place. We would highly recommend this tour and it is totally worth it. We have given 5 star rating because we love the tour and the guide was amazing!!!!!!

Once in a life time experience. The tour was well organised & run. Did not feel cold at all . The scenery was out of this world . Highly recommend. A must do in Iceland , will do it again . The drive to the location was very scenic

Unfortunately my issue is not with the snowmobiling company as they were fantastic but Viator customer service is shocking.

We had a great time! We felt very safe and the provided equipment was well maintained. Our guides were very knowledgeable!
Madelaine_G, Feb 2025
Our guide was wonderful and the snowmobiling experience was great, but there was a bit of false advertising about the experience that I booked. First and most importantly, the online tour description said there would be time to purchase food for lunch, and when I asked about where and when we could do that I was told that there was no time for lunch. This was an 8 hour tour so my group did not eat anything until dinner time. This put a damper on much of the day as we were very hungry. Additionally, the tour advertised a max of 16 people and while our bus to the experience only had 16 people, there were closer to 40-50 people actually snowmobiling with us. This tour would have been much better if we had been properly prepared for the day and experience.
Melissa_L, Feb 2025
Our guide was great. The whole day was very smooth and the experience is wonderful!
Operating the snowmobile is easy and they have guides riding around you in case you should need any help. The glacier is breathtaking and it’s just the right amount of time.

Fantastic and unique experience during our Iceland trip celebrating my 60th.
Ingrid our driver/guide picked us up at Stop-9, only 2-mins walk from our hotel (Alda). There were a couple of no shows so only 8-people on our journey to the equipment centre.
Ingrid was knowledgeable and informative as we drove through the Þingvellir National Park, although we had seen everything the previous day on the Golden Circle/Blue Lagoon tour.
We were lucky enough to witness the Strokkur geyser going off as we passed by before arriving at the equipment centre where we were provided with the clothing and safety helmets for our snowmobiling adventure. Be sure to use the restroom facilities here as it’s the last available for the next 3-4hrs.
When then made the hair raising but stunning journey up the glacier to base camp where we received instructions on how to operate the snowmobiles.
Although a bit apprehensive I quickly got the hang of controlling our mobile as we drove in line through some of the most beautiful artic scenery. Mobiles are easier to steer at a decent speed and we averaged 30/40kmph. As you can only go as fast as those in front of you, there are few opportunities to let the throttle out, although we managed a few 60/70kmph burts.
We stopped halfway for a short break and photo opportunities before heading back to base camp. What an exhilarating experience and one we’ll never forget.
Ingrid got us back to Reykjavik ahead of time giving us a little extra to enjoy our last night in this amazing city.
