Itinerary
Begin with morning pickup from your Reykjavik hotel. Bring your bathing suit, and meet your guide and small group of no more than 10.
Then, settle inside your super truck, whose large tires are designed to negotiate challenging terrain. Relax in your spacious seat and enjoy the onboard Wi-Fi and views as you set off into Iceland’s lava-sculpted countryside.
Along the way, listen as your driver-guide shares facts about the country’s volcanic geology, including background on the Langjökull glacier. Drive through the Geysir hot springs area, seeing the mud pools and water spouts from your window, and on arrival at Langjökull, don your provided thermal coverall, hat, gloves, and helmet.
Once you’re ready, hop on your 2-person snowmobile, and after driving and riding instructions, set off on your expedition. Follow your guide vehicle across the spectacular glacial landscapes, admiring the vast ice expanses around you.
Pick up speed as your confidence builds, and midway through, make a quick stop to take photos of the glacial wonderland and swap driving or passenger positions with the second person on your snowmobile.
After your ride, reboard your truck and head to one of southern Iceland’s most popular restaurants for lunch. Savor the Icelandic dishes, which vary from season to season, but which are always delicious and energy-boosting.
Next, head for the village of Flúðir and visit the Secret Lagoon (own expense), a natural thermal spring surrounded by otherworldly scenery. Change into your bathing suit and grab your included, and relax with a restorative soak in the warm, steam-clouded waters.
Finally, return to Reykjavik by super truck, where your tour ends with a hotel drop-off.

The trip and the staff are excellent- the 4* rating is more based on the personal experience on the snow mobile.
It was not for me and as I was travelling with a child - it take a lot physically and mentally to do the ride in full as I had no one that I could swap with on the driving! Be warned it’s not a simple task!
Other than that - everything was a lovely experience

⭐ 2/10 – Would not recommend
We were offered a 30% partial refund, which reflects how poor this experience was.
The tour was extremely busy, disorganised, and at times felt dangerous. There were far too many snowmobiles in one group, with multiple large groups both in front of and behind us. This resulted in constant stopping and starting — we spent most of the snowmobiling time stationary, waiting for issues ahead to be resolved.
The glacier conditions were very poor due to warm weather, with slush and standing water causing several people to fall off their snowmobiles. While staff did their best, they were clearly overstretched and understaffed for the number of participants.
Be aware this is also a very long day, with around a 2.5-hour bus ride each way just to reach the snowmobiling location.
Overall, this felt like a highly commercial operation prioritising volume over safety and experience. I would not book this again.
What I would recommend instead:
If your budget allows, consider helicopter transport to the glacier and a private snowmobiling tour with a personal guide. This would avoid the long bus journey, large crowds, and constant delays we experienced.
At the end of the day, this was extremely disappointing — even with the 30% partial refund.

I cannot recommend this tour enough. Pick up was really easy, our super jeep driver Thor was very curtious and professional, the snowmobiling was really fun, you cannot beat the beautiful scenery. We wished we had a chance to ride them faster but for safety its understood. The secret lagoon ar the end is perfect after the activities.

What an amazing experience..... the offload driving was an experince (wouldn't recommend if youre an anxious passenger or get travel sick) but it was very cold and icey when we were here. It was such good fun and the driver was amazing. The secret lagoon was nice - don't get put off my the tales of naked showering there's no one there to make you do anything like that. Had a nice mulled wine after it. I'd take your own lunch as sandwiches are expensive (about £11 for a baguette) but nice. Highlight of our trip to iceland. The snow mobiles are bumpy and you need strength to turn them - a real workout.

Absolutely amazing trip. From start to finish it was excellent. Our guide was so friendly and helpful, with lots of interesting information along the way, even a couple of bonus stops!! Being transported in our own super jeep was an absolute joy, we felt safe and comfortable at all times. HIGHLY recommend this tour. Ingi, our guide, was highly knowledgeable and a great time. The ride to and on the glacier will blow your mind. It is one of the most incredible things I've ever done.
The secret lagoon was nice but unless you are set on seeing it, I'd probably skip that and do the snowmobile + golden circle tour instead.

I had such a fun time on this trip and would definitely recommend it. Bart, my driver and instructor was brilliant. I was picked up from my hotel as arranged and we picked up another couple before driving towards the glacier. We stopped briefly enroute for a bathroom/tea break. I was a little unsure about how I would find the snowmobile (although I've had motorbikes and jet skis) but Bart was very encouraging and reassuring. That said, I was surprised at how bumpy the snowmobile was to ride. The time spent on the snowmobile went so quickly sadly, although we had been out for about an hour. After the experience, we drove to Geysir for lunch break/photo opportunity
This trip is a perfect pairing with the visit to the secret lagoon. By the afternoon, my arms and legs were starting to ache. A soak in the secret lagoon was so welcome and relaxing. We had ample time at the lagoon before returning back to our hotels. A fun and relaxing day. Thank you Bart

Ink our guide picked around us up at 8.30 in a monster truck, which was a great start to the day! He then drove us to the meeting point and on the way he told us all about Iceland and answered all the questions we had . From the meeting point we carried on to base camp where we go dressed and kitted up. We then drove to the glazer where we got the snowmobile. They where fantastic.. had a guide tour of the glazer . It was very safe and extremely enjoyable. It lasted about an hr on the snowmobile. After returning our kit we then proceeded to the secret lagoon where we got to warm up and relax for a few hrs .. had a drink the water it was magical! We arrived back to the hotel about 7 .. all in all a very memorable day out and one we won’t forget .. thank you so much ❤️.

Huge highlight of our trip. Our guide Biggie was fantastic. So knowledgeable and personable. The snowmobile guides made it a lot of fun as well. They outfit you with very warm coveralls and you won’t be cold. We’ll organized. The views while riding on the glacier were spectacular. Our tour included the secret lagoon which was great after a long day as well.

Awesome day trip. Was picked up at a bus stop right near our hotel. Ants was an amazing tour guide who took us to several off the beaten path locations en route to the snow mobiles. He gave awesome insight to everything that is iceland. Snow mobiles were fun, beautiful scenic views. Very safe. Secret Lagoon was fun and a nice way to end the day. Highly recommend using this tour!

Our guide Inke was unbelievable. He was so friendly, welcoming, and willing to share everything he knew with us along the way. Being of Icelandic roots, he had so much to tell and was such a fun person to spend a day with. He was also a phenomenal driver, which COUNTS! He led an awesome tour while continually checking that we were safe and comfortable, and I never felt like I was out of my comfort zone. We were able to stop at the geysir and gulfoss quickly because we only had four people in our tour, which was such a nice add. The snowmobiling itself was so much fun, thrill seeking and not just a “track” course - you are truly on a glacier and experiencing it all first hand. 10/10 recommend, and the secret lagoon definitely beats the blue lagoon any day, a more local spot with a chill vibe perfect for relaxing after the chilly ride.
Ps. We went in May and needed a long sleeved shirt and a sweatshirt with a medium jacket, I wore lululemon leggings under the overalls they provide and was the perfect temp (I am always cold) - the gear is perfect, but sneaks are a bit of a stretch if you’re debating something more waterproof, bring boots!
Once again though - Inke was the highlight. He made an hour ride feel like 10 minutes and had so many stories and facts I cannot wait to share!!!

We had the most incredible experience! We had a very knowledgeable driver named Christian. He stopped along the way to show us sites that were absolutely breathtaking and beautiful! Emil helped to create a memorable experience snowmobiling on the glacier! The views were spectacular and the experience was so unique. We also had the opportunity to go to the Secret Lagoon afterwards which was an amazing and relaxing way to end a full day of adventure! I would highly recommend this experience!!

We paid over $350/person to go in snowmobile trip with a quick stop at hidden hot spring on way back. We drove for an hour and then driver advised the snowmobile was cancelled due to weather. The 11 people from other group on this tour wanted to continue with hot spring so my husband and I agreed thinking we would get significant refund. Mountaineers excursion company only offered 50% refund. The cost of a normal trip to hot springs is less than $75. The driver was also pretty rude making bad comments about other your companies and used profane language. I suggest people use Arctic Adventures instead as they are more honest and professional

We are sorry to hear about your disappointment with our tour and the cancellation of the snowmobiling portion due to weather conditions. We understand that it can be frustrating when circumstances beyond our control affect the tour experience.
Regarding the refund, we apologize for any confusion or miscommunication. Before departing on the tour, our guide explained that if the snowmobiling portion was canceled, we would offer a partial refund for the portion of the tour that was affected. This policy is clearly stated on our website and in our terms and conditions. We did offer a 50% refund as per our policy, and we regret if this was not satisfactory for you.
We understand that the cost of a bus tour to the secret lagoon is significantly lower, but it's important to note that our tour offers a different experience. Our tour is conducted in Superjeeps, which incur higher costs. Furthermore, the hot spring stop is not the main focus of our tour, but rather an additional experience on the way back from the snowmobiling adventure.
Regarding your comments about our guide's behavior, we take these concerns seriously, and we will investigate the matter further. We strive to maintain a high level of professionalism in our tours and expect our guides to adhere to this standard.

Fantastic cross country ride in a super jeep. Dramatic landscape. Guide got ahead of the crowds so whizzing across virgin snow on snowmobiles. Highlight of our holiday. Only downsize, fingertip painfully cold after 10 minutes. Take liner gloves to wear inside theirs. Having said that, it was -15 with windchill!!! An hour was enough due to the cold!

Yes, it's been very cold lately and we do recommend that people come as prepared for the cold as they can. The rest of Iceland is also very cold so having warm layers is a good idea.

I was disappointed that the tour was different from the promotion. The material said the tour group was a maximum of 10 participants. You can see in the pictures that we had nearly 40 on our group. I paid a premium for a small group and did not get what I paid for. Also, this was a 10 hour tour. We spent a total of 50 minutes on the snowmobile. I think it would be better to disclose the amount of time snowmobiling. Finally, we had two riders per snowmobile. I wish we had been given an option to pay more for individual snowmobiles. I have been on many snowmobile tours and this was by far the worst experience. The really sad this was that it could have been avoided with accurate and complete disclosure.

Typically the Snowmobiling on Langjökull Glacier and Secret Lagoon tour is a part of a smaller group. Usually 6-13 people in each vehicle and around 10 snowmobiles.

This tour is for people that are physically fit and want some adventure. I was 6months out of my 3rd leg surgery and was able to do the main hike, but it was challenging. Also, you have to be ok with like 2 hours worth of off-roading going at fast speeds. There is also a sense of urgency throughout the day.
Is all of that totally worth it, if you are up for it? YESSSSSSSS! Such beautiful sights. I saw and felt things I couldn't imagine. Breathtaking nature. Fun adventure.
I did also prefer spending all my time hiking and taking photos vs. worrying about the natural bath. If you've done Blue Lagoon and the Secret Lagoon, you are not missing anything. Plus with limited time, you really need to be willing to change in front of people vs a locker room LOL. Also, the bathroom facilities there are not my favorite, but at least they are there.
