Stunning Ice Cave

We enjoyed the hike. Our group were 8 people and there was another family of 4, so we were a small group of 12 total. It is not too long to walk because some time is spent in the vehicle to get close to the glacier. We walked on the glacier and were pleased to find an ice cave which we explored. It was beautiful! Michael did a good job explaining and answering our questions, and gave us tips on how to get good pictures in the cave.

Check glacier walking off my bucket list. What a fun and memorable experience. Was solo traveling and took a walk with Blue Iceland. Felt supremely safe in the hands of Michael who took the time to chat interesting facts and provided good humor into the conversation. Took care to ensure the group was together and provided clear instructions. Sorry Michael, you left before I could tip you, but if you see this, just know you were appreciated. 5 stars!

Tour was canceled

Our group’s walk was canceled due to other participants who were not able to understand the tour guide’s instructions (no translator), which presented safety concerns due to windy and rainy conditions. Other Blue Iceland groups that left at the same time went on their walks. Had we boarded one of those jeeps instead, we would have been able to go on a glacier tour.

We had a fantastic experience on the glacier walk. Our guides, Michael and Philip were so friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with our larger (21 people I believe) group. They shared stories about the glaciers and how they changed over time. Ensured everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the duration of the walk.
