This was a super interesting, fun, and engaging tour! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable, and it was awesome to learn about the area from a local historian. He encouraged questions and had an appropriate balance of seriousness and levity. I really appreciated getting to recontextualize unassuming local buildings with the layers of history behind them—a history that, he emphasized, is ongoing, and hopefully will continue to be paved by stories of Black success.

The warm greeting and very friendly demeanor. Our guide was very knowledgeable & even spent a few extra minutes with us after the tour was over. People recognized him from being their guide & took time to stop and chat with him.
