We had such a fun time at this Sushi making class near Dotonbori! The instructors were friendly, patient and made the whole experience easy to follow, even for us beginners! They made this experience fun, relaxed and enjoyable. Everything was well organised and the ingredients lovely and fresh. Plus getting to eat what we made at the end was the best part! We highly recommend this experience if your looking for something fun and unique to do in Osaka 🍣

A Fun and Family‑Friendly Sushi Class

Our instructor, Lala, was incredibly sweet and a fantastic teacher. My family, including our two young children and even our five‑year‑old, was able to follow her step‑by‑step guidance and successfully make both a maki roll and some nigiri. The kids especially enjoyed the simple flavours of the nigiri, and it was lovely to see them so excited to eat what they’d made. The only challenge was finding the location. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps directed us to a different spot on the same block, so we initially approached from the wrong street. Including a photo of the building exterior in the instructions would make it much easier for guests to find the right place.

Fuko was an absolutely amazing instructor. She provided a brief extensive history of sushi and was very knowledgeable and patient with the students. I am very thankful to have her as my instructor for this class. This was a first time for my son and I to take a cooking class together. I think we were fortunate enough to have gotten the perfect instructor. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys sushi or want to impress people to take this class. They will not regret the experience. She also provided humor which kept everyone engaged.

If you love sushi and want to learn how to make your own, this class is a must. It was a fun time and a great experience for the price, a good amount of sushi is made (1 maki roll and about 4-8 nigiri depending on how fast you go)

The place can be tricky to find so leave yourself plenty of time to get there. The class itself is great fun. Making sushi is harder than it looks when done by the professionals. You make plenty of sushi in the class to enjoy for lunch.

Next time you are in Osaka, do yourself a favour and go to the Osaka Sushi Making class. It is one block from the Dotonbori shopping street in a lovely little room on floor 3. The ingredients are top quality and the staff (or hosts were Aina and Arisa) are absolutely lovely. We were stepped through making Maki and Nigiri sushi and the finished products were very tasty and plentiful - you won't leave hungry.

The experience needs to be scheduled for two hours, it felt super rushed. You don’t get time to take photos or videos, or to enjoy the food that you make. I was still eating when they were cleaning up and setting up for the next group. The activity would also be better if they provided some sake or beer while you’re making sushi and making memories with your friends or family that go with you. For the price, it feels a little expensive for what it was. Realistically, no one goes to this to actually make it at home, it’s about going for a fun experience and I didn’t feel like I got that. The only good thing about it was the male instructor who really took the time to go around the table helping and interacting with everyone. The female instructor only greeted and interacted with the Caucasian guests.
