The tour itself was easy to do. Very well done and easy to follow. Worth the price for sure.
The only trouble we had was that the app stopped working a couple times. That was a little frustrating.
Good, but strong American accent
Petro_C, Jan 2026
Good tour — it was interesting to listen to.
This is not the first tour we’ve purchased from different platforms.
The only thing I would change is the speaker’s accent. English is our second language, and we’ve been living in Canada for the past 10 years. We understood every word, but I think the tour would benefit from a more neutral English accent rather than a strong American one. It felt a bit funny, since that accent is one we usually hear only when watching movies.
Good tour

Good voice and informative tour. Liked you can pause and begin where you left off even if you close the map. Nice they have a live map option too so if you go off path you can see where you are
Totally worth it

Totally worth the $10. Very informative and easy to follow along. Took us on a beautiful trek through the Yale campus.
Disappointing tour
Laura_W, Oct 2025
After reading the reviews we had high hopes for this tour. The guide gave a nice description of the chapel, but no d I rection on how to enter it. He took us down streets so that we could see vegan restaurants, hamburger joints, and the theater district. After 20 minute of that we turned off the guide. He also d I rested us to a statue if Nathan He also that wasn't there. A complete waste of money

Code provided online louis2780 is not accepting when clicking apply. I paid $9.95 but did not do phone self guided. I visited Yale visitor center on which I registered for a free tour in the afternoon at 1 pm.
Easy to navigate and very informative!

Very easy to figure out directions, great information, just the right amount of history. I absolutely love this and have already looked up tours for when I am in Dublin and London later in the fall! Highly recommend!
Perfect for out of towners

It was great! We had the option to learn more about some of the landmarks if we wanted. There was plenty of detail at each stop. We loved the tour!
New Haven Yale Walk
Amelia_Y, Jun 2025
It was a nice walk but it would have been nice to be able to enter some of the stops. I personally didn't find some of the commentary very interesting.

The information on the tour was good. The only problem was some of the buildings weren't open. Therefore, when you talk about what's happening inside the building, we were not able to actually get a first-hand view.
Great way to see New Haven & Yale
Alfred_L, Jun 2025
This tour really delivers a great experience and is packed full of information. We were not expecting such a great tour via an app, so it blew us away with how intuitive it operated. For example, when the guide finishes telling you about a site and directs you to the next intersection to continue the tour, the app guides you there and plays music until you reach the specified location. Very impressed with the app design and excited to see that there are other locations for tours available. Another plus was being able to pause the narrative and jump ahead to another location. Again, kudos on the programming and functionality. We'll definitely be looking for opportunities to use it again in other locations.

I am in New Haven for a week and I really wanted to do a tour of Yale and came across this one. I just completed the full tour and I have to say it was incredible. The person who put this together did an excellent job on capturing the highlights of the university as well as the history. A great way to tour Yale
A tour at ease

This is my first time using self-guided tour on an APP. It's easy and user-friendly, although it took me while to discover different features.
Fun time
Eric_R, Aug 2024
My kids loved the campus steeple, Art Museum, and Louis lunch. The directions were some times hard to understand, but overall, good job.
Lots to Improve On
Krista_R, Jul 2024
More info and buildings and history that could be highlighted at Yale. Make a Yale only and a take plus outside community separate tour. We only wanted Yale, its buildings, histories and stories. Not surrounding cinemas and restaurants. More in-depth about each building, who has lectured or lived there, why the building is named what it is, etc…
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Thanks for the feedback! The tour is designed to tell the story of Yale and it's surroundings. There is a restaurant on the tour, the inventors of the Hamburger, and a popular spot for students. The vast majority is about Yales buildings, people, museums, and sites.
Fantastic tour
Amy_E, Jun 2024
We had a fantastic time. The narration was incredible. It was fun, informative and extremely interesting. My husband and I learned so much, yet we didn’t feel overwhelmed or as if we were in a “walking history class.” I have told all my buddies to check out the tours and have already purchased one for Boston.
Walking tour of Yale

Loved the history! It was well done, but construction on the campus made parts of the tour challenging.
Great solo tour!

Great information and trivia. Love the narrator, kept it fresh. I loved being able to pause the tour so I could look further at various areas. Great tour!
Downtown New Haven/Yale campus is beautiful

Harkness tower was amazing. We loved the beautiful Yale campus. Self-guided tour was an excellent way to see New Haven.

I can’t just pick one. So much of it was beyond what I thought! I need to go back!
It’s hard for me to articulate how great the experience was.

Fun, informative, and easy to do mini excursions and get right back on track. Love the “Dig Deeper” option too!
Now I know everything about Yale!

I received many reminder e-mails about my upcoming tour with very helpful directions. Interesting, entertaining tour. Nice that it can be accessed later for review.
Great tour
Melynda_B, Aug 2023
I only had a short time in New Haven and this walking tour gave me a detailed overview of the Yale Campus. I learned so much about the history of the campus and the general area surrounding. Only wish I had more to explore the interior of the buildings, Yale Art Museum, etc. The walking directions were very clear and using the app was pretty straightforward. Great value for the money
