Noa was a great guide, challenged by the hottest day and needing to conduct the tour in both English and Spanish. She had deep knowledge of the history of the attractions and notable stories to recount. And she offered treats along the way.

We had a great experience! There were only four people on this tour and Andres gave us the VIP treatment and explained in great detail the history of all the sites we visited. Plenty of time to explore, have lunch in Segovia and finish with a cold beverage in Avila. It's a perfect day trip if you want to get outside of Madrid.
Cris_C, Jun 2026
Loved the small groups setting. Tim was super friendly and very fast walking. It was sometimes hard to keep up but he did stop and wait. Tim really thought about good photo spots.
Marco_G, Jun 2026
We had a great experience with our Guide Tim. He was extremely pleasant, properly explained all the sites visited and allowed us plenty of time for picture taken. He volunteered and took our picture any time when asked and we really appreciated that. Had a wonderful time and will certainly recommend this experience. Also recommend Tim who made this trip very amenable and fun.
Monique_H, May 2026
Great tour and our guide Tim was fantastic. Segovia was amazing and Avila such an old town. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the car was a little too small for 4 adults with the driver. We are in our 60’s and it wasn’t easy getting in and out of the back of the car. The tour itself was very enjoyable and the 4 stars is not a reflection on our guide. We had a fantastic day.
Julie_C, May 2026
This was a good mix of several locations. Our group was small enough to 'go with the flow', catering to our wishes while sticking to the schedule. Our guide Tim was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. He gave us snippets of history as we walked the cities before the main locations, and he found excellent photo locations - he even took our photos for us. We received waters every time we got to the car and timed bathroom breaks (which was a worry prior to traveling). Highly recommend traveling to two cities and not trying to hit three in a day. Overall, we were very happy with this tour!
Dee_B, May 2026
Andres & Jay (in training) were very good. There were only 5 of us total so he just spoke to us. No headsets. He told us history and explained how the aqueduct was built. He explained the difference between the Romanesque and Moorish architecture and history of Segovia and Ávila.
Kathy_L, Apr 2026
Tim was a very gracious and friendly host but the Tour was disappointing, van arrived half hour late, departed 45” late and arrived in Segovia 1’20” late. Vehicle was totally unacceptable. They do state the two vehicles they use but you don’t know which vehicle you will get, nor if there will only be 4 or 5 people vs 7, nor how incredibly small a Dacia Jogger is. It is entirely unsuitable for 7 adults. My husband is 6’ tall and was in the tiny jump seat in the back me with his knees in his chest unable to move for 2 hours there and in the middle row jump seat for 1.5 hours back. In the back you cant see out to enjoy the countryside. Can’t hear the guide due to road noise. Cant see the features being pointed out. Vehicle should not be used for group tours. This was our 3rd Viator tour in a week and the other two were great so we booked this one with Viator expecting an equal experience.

Our overall grade for this tour is 1.
The positive … Segovia and Avila make for great visits. The Cathedral and Castle in Segovia are must sees. Avila is very quaint - the wall is interesting and the story of Saint Teresa’s life is very moving.
No negatives about where we visited. The negatives are specific to the tour company itself. We’ve taken many tours through Viator. This one, because of the tour company, comes in last place.
First, the meeting point is at one of many gates into Retiro Park and difficult to find. A different meeting point and more detailed directions would be helpful.
Our guide showed up 35 min late, which then set the pace for the entire day. Due to our late departure and traffic, our trip was very late putting us on a dead run the entire day. Finally, the itinerary was never clear to any of us.
The vehicle was very, very uncomfortable. It was a compact SUV with a third row seat and way too small for six adults plus the guide. On top of that, we had to stop for gas before we got out of Madrid.
Our Guide was nice but lacked knowledge and wasn’t fully prepared. He said he was new to Spain and had only been in Madrid for six months. He repeatedly told us he was a tour leader NOT a tour guide. He knew very, very little about the regions that we visited.
We recommend going to Segovia and Avila. However, use a different tour.
Sheena_K, Apr 2026
Our tour got cancelled the day before due to not meet minimum attendees. The communication through email didn’t work.
Rania_A, Apr 2026
Tim was our guide on the tour, and he was fantastic from start to finish. He was fun, kind, and genuinely funny, which made the long day feel easy and enjoyable. I really appreciated the energy he brought to the group and how welcoming he was with everyone.
We learned so much about the history and architecture of Segovia, especially the impressive Roman architecture and the stories behind the city’s landmarks. Both stops were beautiful and full of history, and the day was a wonderful way to experience places outside of Madrid.
I highly recommend this excursion, and if you can, ask for Tim. He will make the experience even better.
Ulrika_M, Apr 2026
The car they took is in was too small. The time table was sos and so. Visiting Segovia was as amazing. Learning the history etc. Going to both Segovia and Avila was lot. 11 hour round trip.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback.
Regarding the vehicle, we do provide information in advance about the type of transportation used, so this is known from the beginning. While we understand it may not have met your personal expectations, it is consistent with what is advertised for our small group tours.
As for the schedule, the itinerary clearly states that this is a full-day experience of approximately 11 hours. Visiting both Segovia and Ávila in one day naturally involves a longer day, and this is communicated so guests can decide if it suits their preferences.
We are, however, very pleased to hear that you found Segovia amazing and enjoyed learning about its history—that is a key part of the experience we aim to deliver.
We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve wherever possible.

Tim is a great guide and a truly wonderful person. I really appreciated his charm and wit and the care that he took of our group. Both stops were magnificent and the lunch place had truly wonderful food. Though the day was long, this is a great excursion. Ask for Tim; he will not disappoint.
Debbie_B, Apr 2026
It was a very nice tour. The monuments that we saw where so worth going to see. Our tour guide, Andrias was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history on the two places we visited, Segovia & Avila. And the restaurant they took us to eat was fabulous.
Amber_W, Mar 2026
I had an absolutely wonderful experience on my day trip to Segovia and Ávila! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, seamless, and enjoyable.
Our guide,Pablo was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history and culture of the region. He brought each location to life with fascinating stories and helpful insights, making the experience so much more meaningful than just walking around on our own.
Segovia was stunning—the Roman aqueduct alone is breathtaking, and the charming streets and fairytale-like atmosphere made it unforgettable. Ávila was equally impressive, with its perfectly preserved medieval walls and peaceful, historic feel. I loved being able to explore two unique cities in one day without feeling rushed.
Transportation was comfortable and efficient, and the timing at each stop felt just right. Our driver, Marco was friendly and safe. It was the perfect balance of guided structure and free time to explore, take photos, and soak everything in.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Spain who wants to see more beyond Madrid. It was truly one of the highlights of my trip!
Cody_M, Mar 2026
We took a tour to Segovia and it was absolutely beautiful. The town itself is charming and full of history, and the highlight was visiting Alcázar of Segovia, which was truly incredible.
Everything about the experience made it memorable, from the scenery to the atmosphere of the city. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Spain and looking to explore beyond the main cities.
MELISSA_M, Mar 2026
Anders was excellent! The tour was felt personal, informative, and interactive. 10/10 would recommend
Vanessa_I, Mar 2026
Tour guide was amazing, he provided great historical facts and had answers to all questions. There's lots of walking! Very informative! I would skip the restaurant a d get something not so heavy. The suckling pork was over rated.
Deb_S, Mar 2026
Van was small for 7 plus guide and driver. 9 people crammed in a small van. The guide was okay but did not engage or provide commentary during the drive. It would have been good if there was deeper context and sharing Spanish information on the drive.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We really appreciate your input, as it helps us continue improving our experiences.
Regarding the vehicle, the van used is the largest standard vehicle available in Europe designed to carry up to 8 passengers with a driver. We understand that space can feel limited when the vehicle is full, and we truly appreciate you sharing your perspective.
We also take note of your comments regarding the level of engagement and commentary during the drive. Feedback like yours is very valuable for us as we continue working to enhance the experience we provide to our guests.
Thank you again for your input and for joining the tour.
ChrisS, Feb 2026
Excellent trip. A long day but quite interesting. Tour guide Andres was great. He explained everything and was very personable. This is a great excursion option.
erika_S, Feb 2026
Lovely day touring around the cities with such a knowledgeable and thoughtful host. Picturesque scenery accompanied by a lovely meal to satisfy our suckling pig craving.
Sandy_S, Jan 2026
Sorry to say that we missed our tour. They had to cancel because we were the only ones registered in the off season. They were great communicators to let us know what was possible. We will try again to visit during our next trip to Spain.
Katy_K, Jan 2026
Transport to locations is tight so you can't be shy. They are super accommodating. Great guide! very knowledgeable. Great Experience.
Elaine_M, Jan 2026
Well the small group was true, but we didn’t know was on his personal car, they intended to fit 6 grown big people in a small three row suv, one of the couples ended up saying they were not going and the rest of us four went and had a great time. I fell bad for them but they had other days to reschedule. The trip itself was so nice! Our guide was Andres, conversation was super nice we ended up having lunch all together in a restaurant he recommended and food was very good. We did a lot considering the time, this is a whole day trip, you get back at night. Highly recommend
Andrew_C, Dec 2025
I really enjoyed the trip from start to finish! We had a terrific guide that led us on this small group experience! Highlights for me were the aqueduct/palace/city wall!
Wilson_A, Dec 2025
Diversity of people and lenguajes and very friendly atmosphere with all of them. Recommended for families and friends
Denise_M, Dec 2025
We had a very enjoyable time and highly recommend this small group tour. Ines was an excellent tour guide. He was very personable and made everyone in our group feel welcome. He was very knowledgable and shared detailed information and history on the places we visited. He escorted us to a charming restaurant in Segovia for lunch. We were treated to a drink at the end of our visit in Avila. Ines thoughtfully left to get the van to pick us up while we enjoyed our drink recognizing that we were tired from walking. It was a long day but was at a comfortable pace and didn't feel rushed.
Denny_R, Dec 2025
I was originally booked on the Segovia/Avila tour but due to insufficient number of guests I was booked into the Salamanca/Avila Day tour
Janeth_W, Nov 2025
Unfortunately, we were canceled the day before our tour because it did not make the minimum number. We two were the only ones that signed up for a small group tour. They a
offered an alternative, but it did not work for our schedule.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you for your feedback. We completely understand your frustration. When the experience is booked, we inform all customers that there is a minimum requirement of 4 participants for the tour to run, and that there is always a possibility of cancellation if the minimum is not reached close to the tour date (including the day before).
In your case, as soon as we saw the tour was not reaching the minimum, we offered two alternative dates so you could still enjoy the experience. Unfortunately, we never received a response regarding those options, so we proceeded according to the policy explained at the time of booking. Your payment was promptly refunded as soon as the tour was canceled.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on one of our tours in the future.
Best regards,
The Crafted Team

We had an amazing time on the Segovia–Ávila small group tour! The entire experience felt personalized, adaptable, and incredibly flexible, making the day truly enjoyable from start to finish. Our tour guides were not only friendly but also exceptionally knowledgeable — their insights into the history, culture, and hidden stories of both cities added so much depth to the trip.
The small group format made everything feel more intimate and allowed us to explore at a comfortable pace. Whether it was adjusting the itinerary or answering our many questions, the guides went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great experience.
Overall, a truly memorable tour. Highly recommended!
