Beyond the Classic Tour — Totally Worth It!

Absolutely loved this tour! Our guide was amazing — full of energy, stories, and little insights that really brought Madrid to life. We wandered through streets and hidden corners I’d never have found on my own. The pace was just right, and the tour felt really well thought out. If you’ve done the classic Madrid history tour, this one is a must — full of surprises and hidden gems. Can’t recommend it enough!

I signed up for the Majestic Madrid Walking Tour. When I got to the assigned meeting point, to his credit, the tour guide Jovan, told me that the tour advertised was not the tour he was giving. He was giving a tour of more modern Madrid and focusing on two contributors to the development of modern Madrid, Carlos III and Antonio Palacios. He said that I could request a refund but I went ahead and stayed with the tour. It was not particularly interesting to me although the tour guide tried to make it so.

Jovan was the best guide - knowledgeable and funny. Apparently the tour we signed up for was an old tour and Viator had not amended its description. Jovan apologized and we decided to stick with the tour anyway. Jovan was 5 stars but Viator only 4.

Tour Will Cancel on You When You Show Up!

Beware! I had many tours canceled because not enough people book for the tour. But they at least canceled with enough time for you to rebook something else. This tour had the minimum of 5 people, but only 3 people showed up. Tour guide canceled, said that he wouldn't get paid just for 3 people, we would get our refund, and the 2 people that didn't show up would not get a refund. Makes no sense! Don't refund us, start the tour, since you are not refunding the no-show!!

We were only in Madrid for 24 hours and this was a great activity to learn about the city, get a walk in and get some amazing recommendations. Sebastian was such a great tour guide. His love for his city was so apparent and contagious. I learned so much from him in a short amount of time, and got a ton of recs for our short trip as well as our next visit. He even managed to make the tour fun when it randomly started pouring rain. Highly recommend.

I had an afternoon free before my wife joined me in Madrid, so I booked the Majestic Madrid Walking Tour. I arrived at the starting location 30 minutes early, enjoyed a casual stroll around the plaza, did some people watching, and enjoyed an ice cream. When it came time for the tour to begin, I looked for the guide wearing a red shirt and carrying a red umbrella. They were no where to be found. The plaza is large, so I began walking around searching for the tour guide. Still no luck. After 10 minutes of searching, I did what no man ever does; I asked for directions. It was only then that I realized that I was in Puerto del Sol, and the tour starting point was in Plaza Mayor. Duh! I quickly made my way to Plaza Mayor, but by the time I got there, the tour had already departed. I can't fault the guide for not waiting for me, as it wouldn't have been fair to the other guests. I actually rated this tour with 5 stars because the tour left on time, something that doesn't happen often in Spain. Helpful tip: Make sure you are at the right Plaza for your tour!

We decided to do an tour so we could see or get told thing about Madrid. This tour did this. It took us around half of the centre pointing out things. Lasted about 2 hrs. Also told us about the other tour which is free would recommend walking tours as its the best way to see the city your in.

We enjoyed this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and we recommend this tour. It was a little late getting off, but also ended later than scheduled. The guide helped all to end up or head out to where they needed to be next.
