We have been to Fernandina Beach many times and admired the town and historic homes, but the opportunity to know some of the history behind the town helps to understand the importance of certain buildings and houses as well as the military and pirate activity in the area. All very interesting, the tour is well worth it.

Loved the tour and the history. The tour guide was awesome as well. He was friendly and passionate about history and his jokes were pretty good too. The flow of the tour was great. The walking distance was just right, not too long or too short. The early morning tour was completed before the massive heat.

You are right, our history is unique in that it had more military campaigns than any other place in the United States for strategic reasons.

Timothy was amazing. We didn’t even realize the tour lasted a little longer than 1.5 hours. The amount of information he has on this Island is extraordinary. This is an absolute must if you want to know everything about how Amelia Island came to be and the incredible history of the eight flags.

We throughly enjoyed our walking tour with Timothy! We spent 3 days on Amelia Island and this activity really set the tone for our whole trip! Timothy was very knowledgeable about Amelia Island and his delivery was fun and interesting! It’s obvious he knows a lot of locals on the island and stays current! Our tour was in the middle of the afternoon! We appreciated Timothy accommodating us so we could stand in the shade to keep cool! He even stopped at a local restaurant so we could get a water! Timothy was prompt and friendly! We will definitely schedule another tour when we return to Amelia Island!
