    Fort Worth historical driving tour

    Scott_G, May 2026
Construction messed up the route somewhat. We did not see everything as advertised because the driver ran out of time. Still he related stories and history of the area very well. He had a good sense of humor in his delivery. He even had to put up with a very rude lady from New Jersey. She made the situation very tense. The only other thing was it was supposed to be an open air vehicle for a better view. I sat on the inside aisle in the closed van. The view was not as good as it would have been in that open air vehicle. Nor did it say in the write-up we saw that you were going to be let out to walk around the stockyards for over an hour and a half. Good thing my wife and I both could walk. This could have been a problem should we have been unable to walk. Not the driver’s fault, but poor advertising.

    Worth your time

Very informative, covered a lot in short period of time. A lot of stops so not sitting all the time.

3-hour tour is not worth it

    Tom_J, Mar 2026
We assumed that "open air" meant a tour vehicle that had an open top but it was just a regular 8 passenger van. The tour guide, "Jim" was good but it was hard to see anything from inside the vehicle. We paid for the 3 hour tour but it was no different than the 75 minute tour with the exception that you could stay at the Stockyards for an hour or so and then get a ride back to the downtown pick-up spot. Definitely not worth what we paid. You're better off just walking around downtown on your own self-guided tour and traveling to the Stockyards on another adventure.

    Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for your review, we do appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We do want to address the concern regarding the “open air” vehicle. Unfortunately, at the time of your tour, the open-air van was temporarily not operational. We wanted to make sure we could still accommodate your reservation, so the tour proceeded with a standard vehicle. We understand this may not have been what you were expecting and regret any disappointment this may have caused. The open-air van has since been repaired and will be fully operational again starting this Saturday. While our enclosed vans are not open-air, they are equipped with large windows to ensure guests are still able to view the sites comfortably throughout the tour. That being said, we understand that the experience is different and appreciate your perspective. We’re glad to hear you found Tim to be a good guide. In regard to the 3-hour tour, it is intentionally structured to include transportation and extended free time at the Stockyards, giving guests the flexibility to explore that area before returning downtown. The 75-minute tour option does not include the Stockyards portion at all, which is a key difference between the two experiences. We understand that this format may not have aligned with your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to ensure that our tour descriptions are as clear as possible. Thank you for choosing Fun Texas Tours.
