After leaving central Florence by air-conditioned coach, journey into the beautiful Tuscan countryside with your guide. Travel past the olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills of the "Via Chiantigiana," a scenic route through the picturesque Chianti.
Stop for a visit to a cozy organic production winery, where the owner guides you through local wine-making secrets, and where you sample the house vino and local food products.
After a few hours at the winery, continue along the "Via Chiantigiana,” admiring the views of the Tuscan rolling hills, to a family-run winery in the Sienese Chianti Classico area. Walk through the vineyard with the winemaker, tour the cellars and aromatic garden, and taste at least four different wines and unique local food products—you can also purchase some to take home.
Travel along the Chianti Road back to Florence, where you’re dropped off at Piazzale Montelungo.

- We recommend to wear comfortable shoes. Wineries are usually located on the top of the hill and you start the visit with a short walk along the slope through vineyards.
- For small groups, up to 8 pax, the Tour escort service could be replaced with an English speaking driver-guide service, while maintaining unchanged the entire program of the excursion.
- Please be advised that it is required to bring your original ID with you during the tour
- In the visited wineries, it is not always possible to ensure the presence of staff who speak languages other than English.

It was a lovely tour with great guides. It felt a little rushed so if you’re wanting more time to hang out at the vineyards I would book a full day tour.

We loved our tour guide! Our first stop was very chintzy for wine tasting, it was the one part of the tour we could have done without. Our second stop with outstanding views and delicious wine was definitely worth the trip, we absolutely loved the second vineyard!
Our guide was so lovely, kind and incredibly informative. Even though the weather was horrific, both our guide and bus driver went above and beyond to make sure we still had a lovely experience. They were amazing!
A word of advice: wear good walking shoes, as the climb up the road to the second vineyard is quite steep but well worth it. The view is breathtaking. A ride is available for visitors with disabilities.

It was the most horrific tour that I have ever been to. For one hour we were suffocating in a bus without AC. They only let it run after all the attendees started complaining. CAF Tour and Travel - Gray Line Florence was the operator of the tour, the driver was speeding through curves so fast, that we were literally holding for the dear life on the seats.

We are truly sorry that the bus conditions had such a serious impact on your experience. Unfortunately, the air-conditioning system suffered an exceptional electrical failure during the tour due to the extreme summer temperatures. This was an isolated incident, and the vehicle was immediately taken to the workshop for repairs and complete technical checks.
We also take your comments regarding the driver’s conduct very seriously. The matter has been formally reported to our transport department so that the journey and driving standards can be thoroughly reviewed. Passenger safety and comfort are absolute priorities for CAF Tour & Travel – Gray Line Florence, and we sincerely regret that your experience did not reflect the standards we normally guarantee.
The air conditioning on the bus was not working. There were no windows that could be opened except the driver’s and in side temperature rose to unhealthy level. The driver finally had to pull over when everyone on the bus began to complain about the severe heat inside. He pulled over and let everyone get out on the side of highway which felt cool even though the outside temperature was in the mid 90’s F. The bus conditions ruined the experience. Everyone just wanted to cool down and get water to drink. At that point wine tasting was not the priority. I felt bad for the winery’s’ host because nobody could enjoy their visit due to their exhaustion from heat.

We had a great time, the winery representatives were knowledgeable and friendly. The view of Tuscan countryside was fantastic. The bus was comfortable (I’d suggest playing some Italian music to enhance the experience though). The tasting experience was nice, we tasted a variety of products, but I’d add some more cheese/salami to complement the wine. Overall, I recommend this tour.

The wineries we visited had some lovely people working there and were family owned.
The tour operators were also kind and helpful and took their time to give a brief history lesson of Chianti region and the wineries.

Use a different operator. After they left another tour also with a 230 departure and who were waiting allowed us to join them we had a great time. Prestige tours. The tour operator picked by viator was horrible. CAJ tours should learn manners and be accommodating. Would it have killed them to wait 5 minutes. Worse company ever.

Our assistant waited at the meeting point until 2:35 PM, while the scheduled departure time was 2:30 PM. Your call to our office was received only after that time, when the tour had already departed.
Our operations office offered you the possibility to join the same tour on another day, or alternatively to take the morning tour, but unfortunately you declined both options.
We always do our best to assist our customers and accommodate them whenever possible, but it is essential to arrive at the meeting point on time, as delays can affect the entire group and the scheduled itinerary.

5 star rating goes to the guide Marie Luisa who was outstanding. Very friendly and knowledgeable..She went above and beyond to look after my elderly parents in an unobtrusive fashion. A real people person. Giuseppe the driver was also very component and very cheerful. We learnt a bit about the production of Chianti and had very small samples of the wine compared to other tours where the portions were much more generous.
