Our guide for the Academia with Marta was excellent! Her passion for Michelangelo was contagious. Best tour guide of our trip. Our guide for the Uffizi was very good, but he had audio technology issues and he didn’t use the audio system, making hearing him difficult, which was disappointing.

The Lady tour guide was very good for the Accademia, but the male guide for the Uffizi was terrible. The lunch was very basic. No transport between tours. Or maps given.

Perfect tour as gave specific information that was interesting and relevent and didnt drag on like some tours do. My 15 year old son said it was one of his favourite tours for our Europe trip as he throughly enjoyed the guide.

Great tour! Maria Christina was very knowledgeable which helped us appreciate the incredible artwork we saw! She also ended up giving us a “bonus” tour:) At the end of the tour my daughter asked where we could find a specific painting. Maria Christina took us there herself and told us about the artist along the way. It was an unexpected kindness that also demonstrated Maria Christina’s passion for her work as a guide.Thank you, Maria Christina! On a scale of 1 to 10, Maria Christina was an 11! On a side note, we booked lunch with the tour. The food was ok. In hindsight I would say, just focus on the art and you can find lunch on your own.

Good Accademia your, Uffizi not so much

The Accademia tour in the morning was done well by Kiara (sp?), our guide. She was informative, enthusiastic, and got us the best vantage points of the important works, with the most time left for David, of course. In the afternoon trip to the Uffizi, however, the guide wasn’t great. She talked way too long, and did nothing to get us close to the works themselves. We were constantly at the back of each room, while big groups took up all the prime positions in front of the art, and we had to leave the group early just so that we could see the art for ourselves. Two hours into the tour, and we still hadn’t seen any of the Rafaello, Da Vinci or Michelangelo works. She should have been more flexible and navigated our group around the heavy traffic, since we were just a small group of 6. The Uffizi is a great museum, but the tour made it more difficult to see everything. We hope this feedback is helpful for future tours.

Marta provide essential contextual information as well as the technical information at each of the Accademia and Uffizi Gallery. This was a good visit! I will say that the ticket was somewhat confusing because all the other tours I have been on would just take us from one thing to the next. When we were done at Accademia, the tour was over (everyone else in the group left) so I had to ask about the Uffizi portion and apparently that’s separate from the Accademia tour so we headed to the office which was easy and no big deal but I didn’t know that part. Then the lunch portion we had to skip entirely because it started at 1230 apparently (my paper said the entire tour ended at 1230) so we had another tour booked for 1:30 so we had to skip the lunch. BUT I will say the tours were very good and fun and informative and the guides really did a great job explaining the different paintings / styles and pieces of art!

Seeing the amazing statue of David at the Accademia. We had a wonderful experience at the Uffizi Gallery with a very bright knowledgeable girl all to ourselves! The only downside was the lunch which I thought was poor value for money.

A good learning experience

Ciara our guide was really excellent and I learned quite a few interesting things about fine art generally and Michelangelo, Botticelli and daVinci. However the start was a bit chaotic. We arrived as requested at 0845 for a 9 am - 1015 tour as per the ticket Someone else was only then sent to get our tickets There was a lot of standing around waiting for the tickets to arrive and then we still had to queue in a line and finally got into the Academia at 930 The time spent with the guide was short therefore and did not really represent good value for a “guided “ tour The Uffizi tour at 1115 was slightly better organised but still a bit of waiting around for tickets

Finally as per Viator’s itinerary description, the durations of the guided tours are specified “Accademia Gallery guided tour: 1 hour” and “Uffizi Gallery guided tour: 1 hour and a half”. Could of Been Better

While the tour guides were very good, the radio & earphone technology the tour company uses is horrible. Noisy, static, distorted, inaudible audio during the entire tour of Uffizi Gallery. I removed the earphone & got as close to the guide as possible to hear him. The guides microphone lacked a clip to attach the mic on the jacket or lapel and that may have been part of the problem.

Disorganized Tour Operator

The guide was very knowledgeable. But the tour operator was quite disorganized. Upon arrival there was a lot of confusion on which tour people had paid for. They kept telling us to line up. Some guests in our group didn’t receive their tickets. Others were told to arrive at a different time. Very frustrating check in experience.

We are happy to hear that our guide fulfilled your expectations and was able to transfer her knowledge on such a heritage tour like that. We would like to clarify that there was no “bad organization”during the tour check-in. We have 2 different entrance slots: 9.00 and 9.30 am. Some people booked at 9.30 am showed up at 8.30 -8.45 am pretending to enter at 9.00 am, which of course was not possible. This is the reason why the hostess didn’t line them up and didn’t give them any tickets, asking to come back later on, as scheduled on their bookings. At the same time you have been lined up many times, in order to be able to enter at your scheduled time. On Easter days, it was definitely busier than usual and we are sure you noticed how Florence was crowded. We understand that there may have been some exceptional disruptions in terms of queues, which we apologize for, but which are also totally out of our hands. We can ensure that everything was totally under control, to allow the best experience possible inside the Accademia, which you had indeed. We are looking forward to seeing you in Florence again. Unfortunately our first part of the tour of the accademia was a bilingual tour of Spanish & English. Reading the description we thought we were getting an English only guide. It was impossible to follow as information was rushed. 2 stars. Uffizi was a different story, Michello( I hope I got his name right, he was a history teacher) was absolutely phenomenal, the knowledge, stories and his enthusiasm was amazing. If you could book him for the Uffizi gallery tour you could never go wrong, he is the only reason this tour got 4 stars. He is 5 stars

The museum tours were fun and mostly informative—to be honest we couldn’t hear much of what our guide was saying during the Accademia tour. I’d recommend having them use mics in the future! At Uffizi we were the only ones and our tour guide was as entertaining as he was knowledgeable.

Two amazing galleries with some of the best renaissance artworks and sculptures. A must see for anyone coming to Florence. As always, tours may seem a bit rushed given how much you can see in these galleries, so might be a good idea to also set aside time later to see more or to remain behind to explore more

Our guide was an art history graduate and it was quite evident, in that she covered 200 years of art in chronological order. She was so informative, insightful and even funny as we learned about the art, artists and the culture if the times. It was good to be rich.

We don’t normally do tours, but because we wanted to see these two museums and only had one day, this worked out very well for us! We did Accademia in the morning and uffizzi in the afternoon. We had our own lunch and shopping time between. Both tour guides were so sweet and told great stories about the artists and the art. Learned some really interesting information! Highly recommend!
