Great way to beat the lines, and get some great information!

This your turned out great. We ended up being the only 4 on the tour so it ended up being a private tour. Liz, our guide, was fantastic and gave us info along the way from the meeting point to where we went into the museum. Once inside no wait - just walked right in she had a lot of great info on various pieces we passed that were noteworthy. There was a build-up of info that Liz provided that gave great insight into David. Had we not been on a tour and not had Liz provide us this info, we'd never had known, and in some cases, just walked on by pieces that were extremely meaningful. Once at David, she provided a lot of info on it and on details one wouldn't necessarily have noticed. It was terrific and the best tour/guide we had at of all the ones we setup. The tour is definitely worthwhile and if you can get Liz to provide it, you will not be disappointed.

The website does not indicate a 15 - 20 minute walk from the booking office to Accademia. For those who have difficulty walking, especially at the end of the day after already walking through Florence, this information was a deal breaker. We took a taxi to Accademia as we were told the tour group would arrive around 5:15 p.m. and we could enter at that time. 5:35 p.m. and the group had not arrived. We saw one of the agents from the booking office, took our 2 tickets, saw David, re-read the history from my IPHONE and left. This was perhaps our 7th visit to David so we are not novices. My guess is our personal history lesson was enough for most people as several times we have heard the history of the statues before one reaches David. Our only Viator tour that disappointed. If you get to Milan the half day sightseeing tour was fabulous!

This tour was absolutely amazing! Skip the Line option was perfect as the lines to enter the museum were quite long. To think that someone so young acquired the skill, an eye for detail and artistric abilities to create the majestic and almost human like Statue of David is just incredible!

My family and I really enjoyed our tour. We are usually not tour people this is the first one we have taken, normally we get audio tours at museums and go at our own pace. This tour may have changed our mindset about tours. I booked this for my family because our trip to Italy happened on rather short notice and this was the only way to get tickets to see the David sculpture. I am so glad we booked it! We learned so much on this tour, much more than is on a typical audio tour or in a brochure. Our tour guide, Loredana, was not only professional and knowledgeable, but also charming. She clearly knew a great deal about her subject. We had some technical difficulties with the audio equipment which she handled with grace. I would highly recommend this tour--it brings a lot of life to the art!
