It was very exciting to see the resting place of so many historically significant people. If you only see one church in Florence, this must be it. We took the English-speaking tour on 11 October 2025.
Sadly, I cannot recall the name of our guide, but he was very good. He had a sharp wit and was very droll. His 'one liners' were perfectly delivered.
I was excellently entertained!
This walking tour is recommended.

Our guide (Annette) is as very friendly and informative. We learned a great deal about Florence history and art. The tour was about one and a half hours. It was a perfect amount of time to spend in the church of Santa Croce.

The trip to Santa Croce was my personal best and it became very special because Francesca was our tour guide. It was clear that she was passionate about the history of Florence. She explained every tomb and point inside Santa Croce with indepth detail and answered my questions with enthusiasm. She went above and beyond in showing all important aspects of Santa Croce. I loved this guided tour the most in my entire trip. I almost jumped in excitement when I saw a memorial dedicated to Enrico Fermi as I am from Chicago, the home of Fermi's lab and burial place. Grazie Francesca and I hope to come back again and do this tour again with you.💕

This is the church with the BEST and most interesting interior in Florence. Our guide, Francesca, taught us so much about the many notable individuals buried at Santa Croce (Galileo, Michelangelo), the history behind their burials, and the art/architecture throughout the church. The dress code to enter is strict so ladies should come prepared with a shawl and wear longer pants/skirt.

Ivan was a fantastic guide! He is SO knowledgeable and was able to answer every question I asked. He’s also very funny too - incorporating many contemporary references to punctuate some of the unbelievable facts about the artists, artwork and architecture.
