Unorganized and Late!

Terrible experience! Tour left office 20 minutes late. We had a 9:45am tour. Once we got to the Accademia, we had to wait before getting tickets. Then, we missed our 9:45 am window. We finally got in the 10:15am line. Mind you, they tell you to show up 20 minutes before. Once we got in line, we couldn’t go into the museum because we had too many people for the tour. My ticket was at 9:45am and I had been waiting since 9:25 / 9:30am. We had a hard stop in an hour. The tour was only supposed to last an hour. We ended up leaving because they were still waiting to get in. Once we got in, I was told we were going to get a new tour guide. We waited and waited. Finally, we had in our headsets and we left. In totally, we waited about an hour for nothing. We didn’t have the 1-hour tour because there was a challenge with the number of people. There was a challenge with the original tour guide. I don’t know what was going on with this company. Save your money and time. Skip this tour!

We were pleased to be given the tour by our guide Martina, who was knowledgeable and showed a keen interest in her subject; in addition we were fortunate that the Museum of Musical Instruments within the Accademia was open when we visited, without additional charge, and Martina was also able to speak to us about the artefacts we saw there. Thoroughly recommend.

My family and I had a great tour. It was easy to find our tour guide and we barely waited in line. Our group was about 15-20 people that included kids but we all felt included. There was plenty of time to take pictures in front of the statue of David.

I want to be generous because it was a rainy morning so everything was a little chaotic, but there were some hiccups. The headsets really didn't work and the guide was not adept at keeping our semi-large group together and engaged. It felt like she didn't have a real flow to the tour. At a certain point I turned my headset in and just walked around by myself. That being said, having seen how busy it was in all of the lines having a guaranteed entrance with a group made this worthwhile.

Let’s be honest! 99% of people don’t want a tour to see something, they want to skip the ridiculous lines. Amodeous was our “guide” and he was the best! The guide must be required and he knew what he was talking about so it was as entertaining as educational. While waiting in line for about 15 minutes he pointed out the elaborate network of cheats, thieves, and pickpockets. The guys selling their crappy posters on the street are part of the racket. These guys get you to show your money, then their two crook pals come in for the pick pocket. If they need backup they get the old lady moaning and groaning that is begging to distract you and the guys cautiously open you pockets or backpacks and steal your stuff. If it starts or is raining, open up the hatch in the ground as shown in the photo. In the hatches in the ground there are rain umbrellas and ponchos. The crooks stow them there. Now, tour wise, our funny but knowledgeable guide got us in through the slip the line pass and we proceeded inside. He spoke for about 20 minutes and then let us explore on our own. Unless you’re in great need for a dissertation I’d suggest this tour as most of us want to see the David, not have an art history class.

Tour was good enough but I could have used without. The guide came off almost rude at times to some of the guests, the tour was very much his tour and he wasn’t very open to questions or comments. I booked the tour because I could not book tickets to the museum independently as they were sold out. Would recommend the tour if you’re looking to get in and tickets directly with the museum are sold out.

It was a great way to save hours upon hours to see the statue of David. The guide was knowledgeable, but the microphone, radio, and headset made hearing and understanding him impossible. By doing the tour this way we probably saved 4-5 hours.

Our guide Amadeus was excellent at bringing the art to life by explaining the history and artistic significance of each piece. I was glad that the focus was not solely on David, but rather on many other significant pieces that we saw.
