Capt Bob and our guide Vince were stellar! We saw all kinds of birds …..0sprey, Egrets, Terns etc!!! Even saw a bald eagle! Very knowledgeable about the effects of over-fishing and climate variables impacting birds and other wildlife. Highly recommend! I will be going back myself!

Make reservations early it’s a very popular family adventure. As a birder I highly recommend Birding by Boat on the Osprey! You will see many beautiful birds, and if you’re lucky even dolphins. The Bald Eagle was the star.

Lots of birds but the naturalist was not onboard for our trip and I think we suffered a little. We are not bird experts and the boat captain was good at pointing out birds but then didn’t say much about them unless we asked. He told us that the naturalist didn’t want to brave the traffic on the Fourth of July weekend for the tour and I’m assuming the naturalist would’ve had a lot more to say. Also bring bug spray or wear long pants because it got buggy when the boat wasn’t moving.

2 1/2 hours on the water discovering all different kinds of shore birds (even turtles and dolphins!). A great way to spend a morning at Cape May! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. A fantastic adventure!

This a wonderful pontoon boat ride through the backbay of Cape May that is full of both shore and migratory birds. If eagles. Ospreys, and herons are your thing, let Bob be your guard. He is a wealth of knowledge and knows where the birds hang out. Enjoy the ride.

Even if there were no birds, the boat ride in the protected grassland areas would have been great. But of course there were lots of Ospreys, one very big Bald Eagle, and many many other types of birds.
We did this five years ago, and it was just as much fun this time.

It’s definitely worth the 2 hours. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. A lot of WOW moments for sure. Cape May isn’t just beach and restaurants it’s also nature. A must do if you are in the area.

The nature guide (Patty ? I think?) was so informative and she answered all questions with incredible detail. The stops were perfect for photographs and the entire experience was well organized and lots of fun!

This is a well run and highly enjoyable experience. Captain Bob is expert at getting as close as possible to birds for viewing and navigating the maze of water ways in the salt marshes outside if Cape May. They also supply quality binoculars enough for all on board and a Naturalist to provide insights into the birds and their migration habits. She was excellent and very informative. We are not strictly birders and it is not necessary to be one to enjoy this fascinating boat ride through the marshes which many visitors to Cape May donnit even know about!!

My husband is newer to birdwatching. He has seen a few birds in our home area mostly, along with a couple that that were rare to our area. During a recent couple days stay in AC, we decided to check out Birding By Boat. ( on Sept.6th 10 am trip) Though I am not a birdwatcher...I truly enjoyed the trip. My husband was so in heaven. Our Captain was incredibly knowledgeable of all the many birds we saw. The binoculars supplied were perfect. My husband said he was amazed with all he had seen and learned!!!! Thank you for the knowledge and memories we have obtained.

The very first bird we saw was a bald Eagle. What a way to start! Then we went on to see so many birds of so many varieties throughout the entire trip. I hardly sat down as Chris kept pointing out the various birds at each point. As a beginner birder I learned a lot! It was a fantastic introduction to shore birds. Now I’m hooked. I am already making plans to do this trip again with cousins who are avid birders and who have done this trip 3 or 4 times already and are eager to do it again. I did the trip with my mother who is 87 years old and loves birding. She loved it! The boat was easy to get around and the water was always calm so she always felt steady, and the binoculars supplied were easy to use and of excellent quality.

Seeing the different birds around Cape May was very interesting. The Naturalist on the boat shared some very interesting information on the birds and other creatures in the area.

The Captain was very knowledgeable & went to so many places. He was able to get quite close to where several flocks of birds hang out & feed on the mud flats. We saw Great Cormorants which are not common for our area, a real treat! Many Blue Herons, Egrets, Greater yellow legs, Dunlin & more. The weather was Great. I would do this trip again

Bob and the naturalist were friendly and informative. We really enjoyed our tour! Nice boat ride in the bay, not to rough for those who don't like waves! We saw a ton of birds including this magnificent bald eagle. Highly recommend this tour!

To be fair the weather was not great, fog and rain. Since I’m more a photographer than diehard birder it wasn’t the best conditions. We did see many species of shore birds and osprey nests. And our captain was knowledgeable and very helpful with identifying the birds.
