Overview of history, buildings and laboratories combined with funny stories while walking through the campus.
Very entertaining and interesting.

Our tour guide was great but this tour was way overbooked. Tours should not be this large—I think we had 40+ ppl. No one could hear anything, it was cumbersome to get around, and I felt we spent more time trying to navigate and figure out how to position ourselves to hear the guide vs actually taking in the tour. Please stop overbooking your tours. It’s not fair to the tour guides or to the visitors.

The tour was even better than I’ve imagined it’d be. We get to actually enter the MIT building and see its labs and classrooms. The guide, Austin, was great and gave us so many interesting infos. I recommend it 100%.

The MIT Tour was informative and enjoyable. Unfortunately sometimes hard to hear the guide. Mostly tour of outside buildings with limited access inside. Great overview.
Julia_v, Oct 2025
Inside view MIT and history of buildings
Relevant for people outside USA and with affinity with tech

Excellent tour. Reuben was an engaging tour guide. Loved seeing the insides of buildings and classrooms and hearing everything from a student perspective. My husband and I plan to retire in a few years, so we’re not college age at all, but at the end of the tour we thought - we should get a degree from MIT in retirement lol. Inspiring tour.

The tour guide did not arrive and the tour did not happen. No one talked to us about getting a refund.

Tour was largely about student activities and experiences. Enjoyed hearing about MIT contributions to science and humanity. Tour guide included personal anecdotes as well
Jim_W, Aug 2025
Very informative tour of the history and campus! Austin (Our tour guide) knew countless facts about MIT and did a great job of answering questions.
Ines_L, Aug 2025
Great experience, funny, interactive, informative. Highly recommended to get a general overview of the MIT history and buildings
Darren_G, Aug 2025
MIT is something special and the guide was the perfect fit. He really let you feel the MIT Vibe. What it takes to be part of MIT and the history of the University. A must visit to give you a feeling of what it is that make MIT so special. The guide himself was so enthusiastic about all the studies and gave so much insight that he makes you want to attend MIT.

Our tour guide was amazing. His name was Ruben, he was funny, informative, and energetic. We learned so much during our tour and my son got inspired and now talking about going to MIT when he grows up. Definitely recommend this tour if you are going to Boston
Vikas_J, Jul 2025
Chris was great. Very good information. It was a very hot day though. Be ready to walk a lot along with hat, sunglasses and Water.
Silpa_K, Jul 2025
Wow! I did not expect this tour to be so phenomenal. Ruben was an amazing tour guide who was super knowledgeable, engaging and personable. I loved that we also got to go into so many buildings at MIT. I thought the Harvard tour was great, but this was so much better.
Karen_M, Jul 2025
The tour was very, very good. The instructor was a current student so he knew the detailed experiences of student life. He also knew the history and traditions of MIT.
Sarah_N, Jul 2025
The your guide was very knowledgeable and ready to answer any and all questions the group had. Highly recommend.
Robert_S, Jul 2025
I’ve been on many walking tours and this is the largest group so far…over 50 people. I expected the group to be smaller based on the price per person. Given the group size, it’s hard to get close enough to hear the guide. Unless they limit the group size to about 25, I wouldn’t recommend this tour.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Hi--thank you for the review! We're sorry that you found the group too big, and we will take this into consideration as we work to provide the best possible tours,
Sheila_T, Jun 2025
Our tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable about the history of the university, and he gave us some good laughs as well. He was very engaging.
Colleen_G, Jun 2025
Walking tour through parts of MIT campus. The tour giver was very nice, but unfortunately we couldn’t hear most of the tour lecture. A guided tour is a good, but would be better if the guide had a way of amplifying her voice so the whole group could hear.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Hello--thank you for the review! We're sorry you couldn't hear well--unfortunately, in compliance with university and city policy, microphones and other forms of voice amplification is not allowed.
Christian_P, May 2025
Great overview over the buildings, the campus, hacking and the spirit of MIT. Lots of geeky fun stories getly explained to Non-MIT people. The only aspect I’m sorry about is that I haven’t done this earlier.
James_A, Apr 2025
Our flight was delayed 12 hours. I tired to make contact with the tour operator to see if they could change the times from both the MIT and Harvard tours. I never got a response from the Tour operator.
Xiang_M, Mar 2025
We attended the MIT tour on a cold day, resulting in a private tour. This provided an excellent opportunity to ask any questions we had. The guide was friendly and took us inside some campus buildings. We observed some student exhibitions, which I found intriguing as it provided insight into MIT student culture. Overall, we had a positive experience and highly recommend this tour.
JoseD_V, Mar 2025
Maggie did a great job on the tour, she was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable for a freshment student
Darla_D, Dec 2024
Vic is an incredible tour guide! Learned so much about MIT’s history and student life. Highly recommend!

Great guide, easy going, answered every question. Or guide Austin, presented our group with lots of information, in the most enjoyable way.
Michelle_G, Oct 2024
Our guide was great! We enjoyed his stories and going inside some of the buildings like the nano tech bldg.
Laila_H, Oct 2024
Uninspiring, and non-engaging guide. Lacked pride and salesmanship. No maps were provided as indicated on the tour description.
Neil_M, Sep 2024
Great tour and very informative. Despite the heavy rain a large group still attended with no grumbles.
Joelynn_M, Sep 2024
I reached out to the contact on my ticket to let them know I was running a little late for the 1:30 pm tour and they informed me that I could wait for the 2pm tour which turned out to be non-existent. I tried reached out at 2 pm when I was at the meeting spot and got an automated message instead.
