The mine is damp and 44°. Definitely being a jacket. If you don't have one, they do have some extras. Michael was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and fun. It was a great birthday excursion!

Happy Birthday for October! Thanks so much for sharing your special day with us :)
This was a really fun and interesting tour! I believe that our tour guide was named Micheal. He was a chill Dude and shared some interesting facts! Ask him where the phrase, “pulling your chain” comes from. My family got a kick out of that fun fact
Beautiful views and mining history in the Rocky Mountains. The guide was especially helpful and I even found a few gold flakes while trying out gold panning.
Very informative tour as my wife and I learned a lot about the gold mining history of the Breckenridge area. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed this experience and would recommend this to everyone!
The temperature drops immediately when entering the mine. Recommend jacket and gloves. We toured in July. Our guide was well informed and entertaining. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and gold panning.
Was a great experience. The guide loved his job and you could tell. He gave a lot of great information about the mine, the miners working conditions, what it took to do their job, hazards of the job, etc. The nicest thing is he kept the kids involved well. Grandson absolutely loved the panning for gold. .
So much fun! Loved learning about the gold mining and Michael our guide was super knowledgeable and fun! Would definitely recommend:)
I brought my son Connor Spivey (RIP) here in February 2015 and his brother Jonathan on January 16, 2025. Amazing memories and amazing people at Country Boy Mine!!!

My fiancé and I were looking for things to do during our stay in Colorado, and I’m so happy we found Country Boy Mine! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, and it was so interesting to learn about the conditions miners endured all those years ago. Then after the tour we panned for gold in the creek for a good hour. It was so much fun and I can’t recommend this experience enough!
Feeding Donkeys was fun and panning for gold takes patience. Respect for what miners did/do to extract minerals.
Michael was an amazing tour guide. We had a WONDERFUL experience. Very entertaining and educational.
We had a great time. It was educational and fun. Loved panning for gold. Our tour guide was awesome.

Our guide was great! He is very passionate about sharing information about the mine and it's history. We had a great time.
Location was easy to find. Staff was friendly and professional. Michael (our guide) did an excellent job on the tour. Love the history. We enjoyed ourselves.
The history of the mine was very interesting. It will be very cool when more excavation is done so that more of the mine can be seen.
The guide did a great job.
Michael was a super fun and informative tour guide! We learned a lot and had a great time. I’d recommend the tour for anybody. The gold panning at the end was super cool too!
Our guide , Ian, was very knowledgeable and fun. The manager, (Rick?) was great as well. Hard hats and jackets are provided for the walk in the mine shaft. Yes , real panning for gold from a stream .

We're so lucky that we have Eureka Creek coming straight out of the mine and through the vein, so we always have fabulous goodies in there for guests to find.
It was great for all of us - ages 4 years to 66 years! Our guide was a lot of fun and was so good with the little ones! We would definitely recommend it to all! Thank you for a great time!

Thanks so much for coming and making some great family memories with us - we had a great time with you all
The kids really enjoyed the experience, they talked about it for the rest of our trip. Been in longer mines , but really showed what underground work was like
Keith, our guide, demonstrated how miners drove the holes to dig the caves. We learned the history of mining in Breckenridge. Best of all- we found real gold in the stream water.
Entertaining tour. Kids really enjoyed panning for gold. Be sure to wear a jacket/sweatshirt! It is cold in the mine! Worth the time.
I went on this tour with my daughters (12 and 10 years old) and we had a fantastic time! Keith was a wonderful guide, the mine tour was super interesting, and we had so much fun panning for gold after the mine tour. We ended up staying several hours longer than I thought we would! Highly recommend!
Really cool place, interesting history. Really neat educational experience if you have a free day and want something fun to do. Really close to downtown, not a bad drive at all either.
Be sure to wear a light jacket, it’s pretty cold inside the mine. Panning for gold was super fun! Tour guide John was awesome, so funny and friendly.
Lots of fun and learned so much. Our guide was funny and appealed to everyone on the tour, young or old. My family loved gold panning!
The most memorable part for our family was learning that the dynamite only allowed them to go 5-7 feet at a time.
